Tonka goalie hasn't seen a lot of pucks but the few he has seen he seems to be fighting them a bit.
The longer the underdog hangs around in a game/series, the more they're playing with house money.
Hill takes the lead! 3-2 with 12 to play
Hill students raising the bar… they don’t blow up beachballs to volley around. They using condoms… and I won’t tell you which Gopher Hockey legend is taking the fun away and popping them… lol!!!
I believe they also have the Pope and a Teletubby in the front row
Skippers with a lot of zone time but having a hard time getting anything through. They haven’t been as good in their own end.
Shots 32-13 in favor of Minnetonka. 3-2 Hill with 7:04 remaining.
Tonka gets a PP with 6 to play.
Perimeter passing, HM not allowing anything in the slot.
'Tonka clanks the pipe again.
Tonka pulls the goalie with about 1:30 left
Tonka ties it with a minute left
That felt like only a matter of time with the way Tonka was pressuring them.
Off to OT we go
Keep your stick on the ice...
Whoever allowed music to finally be played inbetween whistles deserves a par on the back.
Im the complete opposite on this. Part of what makes the tourney great is the students and fans. Playing music actually kills the atmosphere. I’d rather hear the students chanting it bands playing.
Tonka advances on a seeing eye shot from the point with 39 seconds left in the first OT
Tonka deserves the win, they outplayed Hill all game were kinda unlucky to be in the position they were in before tying it late.
Shots were 44-15
Jack Erickson played well enough to win. That kid battles. Wonder what's next for him.
I gave up on the stream... Very pixelated at the end of that last game. Definitely not my connection either. Switched back over to the OTA Antenna... Much better choice.

I live in St. Paul and if you shove a paperclip in the coaxial cable hole you can pick it up over the air. I think it only works if you live close enough though
Warroad, Hermantown how do you not want in on this?
Grow a pair.
Fun game to watch. Tonka was the better team but that Hill goalie was a brick wall.

Fixed your post… I can handle Mahtomedi or Warroad in A, even though I feel they should be in AA. Hermantown has no excuse.

I have a decent antenna in the garage rafters... Even out in Norwood Young America. The signal is perfect.

I'm about 43 miles to the SE of the towers and my antenna signal is pristine.

The stream only got crappy for a couple minutes. My problem with it is every time they go to a commercial I have to refresh the app.

That had been happening to me too but for some reason hasn't since about the 3rd period of the Tonka game.
And that there was the Ohio state school song.
Man farmington gave it a great effort but that's a good Andover team.

Farmington? Apparently Chill has watched too much hockey and is getting confused. ?
Where did all the lakeville south captains play their bantam hockey?

I would argue it’s one very good line. Coach doesn’t trust the other lines as the first line get 75% of the ice time.

I am going to guess Farmington. ? I did not know this.
In shocking news - HS kids transfer or leave early. Tonka is as guilty as any team for having players come in, but also consider who they had in their association but is playing elsewhere this year:
Beckett Hendrickson (F, NTDP)
John Whipple (D, NTDP)
Drew Stewart (F, BSM)
Kam Hendrickson (G, Chan)
Mikey Berchild (F, SSM)
Holden Pajor (F, HF)
Bryce Wiitala (F, HF)
I don't like it but that genie is out of the bottle.
[edit] I thought Vegs and Jupe plus stateofhopps discussed some good idea(s) regarding transfers such as if the player has had 1 year of play on any varsity, if they transfer they have to sit 1 year.
That may or may not be too harsh, but the current system is far too lenient/convenient.
The Tonka team is stuffed with talent, but they almost—and maybe should have—lost against a team that plays like...a team.
I lost count of how many times Tonka players skated into 1 on 2 or even 1 on three situations. The two most notable offenders were #22 and #17.
The late power play got them going, but they were also very very lucky. With their goaltender pulled a HM player iced the puck when he could have merely flipped it to center ice. He had a teammate that was a little ahead of a Tonka player and probably had a good chance to ice the game. Instead, the play comes back into the HM end, they lose a faceoff, and Tonka ties the game.
Lou noted early in the game how well Tonka was doing with their passing. I think what might have happened as the game went on is they started gripping their sticks a little bit. If they have to play another tight game(s) Goldsworthy needs to make it clear they have to keep playing as a team.
Ref signals a goal for Mahtomedi, but on the overhead, it's off the pipe, no goal after review.
And less than a minute later, Hermantown buries the puck into a wide-open net.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?

Mahtomedi ties it with a minutes left in the first!

Does Hermantown have a ‘Swim & Drive Team’? They make Robbie Earl look like a Johnny Weir.

It was a late goal light and ref signal in the ‘X’. The angle over the net, the puck disappeared and ran perfectly Uber the bar on the goal line. Then a corner angle shows the puck never crossing the line.

Really happy to see Maht tie it. I was worried that after having gone toe-to-toe all period, having a goal reversed and immediately giving one up that the wheels might come off.
Sitting on the edge of Hermantown section and into what we’ll be the Orono section. Hermantown fans are annoying. Might make some new friends “if” Mahtomedi can pull this one out… lol!!!

Hermantown has a couple D that can really skate with the puck. Will be interesting to see what happens the next few periods, but I've got to take a client out for 'breakfast' now and won't be able to watch probably any more of this game.

When they actually pass, they show some top-end skill.
I know a number of Tonka hockey people who have been really frustrated with this team (yes, I know they have only 2 losses, but they really are a special group of recrui-....er.....kids).
Come tournament time, if they don't play in a system they can get beat by a team that clamps down on them...HM almost did it last night. To their credit, they finished the game strong, but they definitely left themselves open to the vagaries of a puck bounce.
