It's a recycled story...it comes up every so often and the sources are usually believed to be a former adjunct prof who hates Fleck and Val Martin.
It's a crock and the U has looked into it in the past.

But do we really know until we know what AJ Barker's mom's best friend thinks about it?!?
I read it yesterday and didn’t want to link it here. Didn’t want to give them clicks. It’s a junk article. Not worth anyone’s time. If any defense is needed, it’s that every college football program is run like a cult and the leader is the head coach. Sometimes a person’s personality does not fit into that culture and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Which could also be said about a lot of (if not all) major corporations and their President/CEO/Founder...
Came across this on Twitter ?

You say there's a game coming up?

Sounds like it should be a packed house tonight! Excited to see how the team looks with an allegedly more spread out offense with more balance between run and pass.
Nebraska has a new coaching staff so we'll see what they can do with the new staff in their first game. I'm sure PJ and Co. would have preferred to see Nebraska play a game under Rhule before playing them but we'll see how Rossi and company adjust defensively to what Rhule does.
I am worried about what I hear about the OL and hoping they can handle those corn fed Nebraska boys.
Athan throws the football like most people throw darts. It’s a weird throwing motion. I don’t remember seeing that last year.
The clock changes sure make the quarters go faster. Not sure if I like it. And by that I mean I don't like it.
Kesich had the leg for the 54 yard attempt but let it fade left and missed it by about 2 yards. Impressive leg strength though.
Gophers still lead 3-0.
Nebraska QB is killing us on the ground.
So Nebraska gets tackled and ruled short of the endzone then tries to rush to the line and gets called for a false start. Because of the false start the referees can take the break to review the previous play.
It was very close to being a TD but the play stands as called. Almost looked like the ball got to the goalline as his elbow hit the ground. Next play the Gophers get an INT.
The Nebraska QB finds the open man in the end zone. He was wearing Maroon. ? Two big picks by the Gopher defense in the first half.
Feel like the Gophers left more than 3 points on the field that half. They can't expect to win this game matching that offensive output in the 2nd half. Nebraska starts with the ball in the 3rd.
Still feels really weird that they could review the previous play after Nebraska attempted another snap and committed a penalty. Was almost the smartest penalty they could take.
3-0 at half. Weird game.
Gophers have no run game. That’s concerning. I do like the variety of play calls, especially the slot passes.

Feels to me like snapping the ball and getting called for a false start should count as running a play.
Ok, that last play sums up Gophers football for the last few decades.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Well that was not ideal.
Nebraska gets a 65 yard kick return to start the second half, botches a trick play but the ball bounces right back to Sims and they have a WR standing alone in the endzone for a TD.
Kaliakmanis gets picked off on a long comeback route on the far side of the field. Nebraska CB had all day to undercut the route on that type of throw and he got there and picked it off.
Not a great decision there by Athan. Kills a drive that looked very promising.
These rushing plays are sooooo slow to develop.
How long until they let Evans or Taylor get a couple runs? Tyler is a home run threat but he's getting no traction so far.
Defense needs to come up with another turnover here after letting Nebraska march down the field.
doesn’t seem like an RB issue. Tyler has nowhere to go when he gets the hall. These rushing plays are sooooo slow to develop.

Now the WR have the dropsies.
12 min left and it feels like game over.
Offense is completely off the rails now.

He doesn't have much room to go anywhere but he's also not a RB who is going to get 2-3 yards after contact very often. He's a speedy guy but seems like any time a DL gets a hand on him he's down. Evans and Taylor are both 10-20lbs heavier than him and may be able to bounce off and get a couple extra yards.
Weird possession by Nebraska. Up a TD and running seemingly at will, they throw 3 passes, two fall incomplete and one nets 0 yards.
Tough game to watch tonight.
Boe my wanna throw a block on the guy directly in front of him on 3rd and 10. Good lord.
The play calling on offense and O-line that last drive aren’t giving us much of a chance to win. Defense has generally been good.
Nebraska fumble. Come on offense the defense is giving you every opportunity to win this game.
Walley with another fantastic play forcing a fumble and the Gophers recover near midfield.
Gophers take a shot deep and the Nebraska safety tackles Daniel Jackson way early. No flag. Absolutely blatant PI and no call.
Ridiculous missed call.
Back judge misses a clear defensive pass inference. Our WRs are having trouble getting open so it would be nice if the refs wouldn't allow Nebraska to get a way with pass inference.
Finally a middle screen against a Nebraska blitz and Spann-Ford picks up 15.
TD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
What sweet foot work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What an unreal catch by Jackson. Holy crap
And now Sims gets 10 yards on a 2nd down while the referees let the RT for Nebraska grab all across Joyner's jersey to free up the right side of the field. Sure would be nice if they'd see one against Nebraska.
Gophers D with another pick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (3rd of the game, 4th forced turnover)
NUBIN!!!!!!!!!
The Gopher kicker hits a 47 yard GAME WINNING Field Goal!!!!
The defense played GREAT and the offense made enough plays late.
All Minnesota teams do is come up big late to pull out games. ?
KESICH NAILS THE 47 YARD FIELD GOAL!
Nebraska gonna Nebrachoke!
Should not have been that hard.....but I will take it!
