I’m guessing three years in Everett for Meier, coming in 2029-30.
In Roed’s case probably 2026-27 with the NTDP, 2027-28 in juniors and probably on campus by 2028-29. May need another year of juniors post draft too but that’s way down the line.
I would put him second behind cullen the lowest I've seen him is 4. Skates well and has a good release. Is a little undersized but he's also 16 so he could grow. He's a big time get though.
Getting Cullen is huge no matter how much of a layup. What a weekend for the staff!
I also think that the layup is worth something --- the whole weekend seemed like these three were a matter of time rather than needing some miracle to come in and turn the tide --- IMO, shows the brand still has power and carries weight.

Agree, but damn I really don’t need another reminder of how old I’m getting. I still have a clear memory of the first time I saw Neal play. I hadn’t heard of him yet, but I went out to Richfield to see Steve Christoff play. Richfield was playing Roseau and it was apparent right away that Neal was something special.

There was Big Ten network special about Minnesota with Herb (pre-miracle on ice) and how at one point Herb said the best hockey player in the state (including the Gophers) was in Roseau, and the assistant who had to drive up for to the games to see Neal play. Can't imagine what drive was like through the winter.

I have this video on my IPad, the coach who drove up to Roseau was Brad Beutow who would drive up for 3 years straight to watch Neal and Aaron Broten and Butzy Erickson.Its on

I'm so desperate for a claim to fame that I skated in a pick-up game right after the Richfield-Roseau game ended. BTW, our game did not start on time.
@boosker14 Steve Rohlik is a really good coach. Don't slander him.
Meh. I don't think very highly of Rohlik for two reasons. Firstly, I don't care for the garbage neutral-zone trap hockey that OSU often relies on to win games.
Secondly, I find his teams' poor conduct, lack of discipline etc. all very distasteful. See: their captain's failed attempt at spearing Snuggy in the throat @ Mariucci a few years back, or the racism incident in 22-23 which Rohlik did ~nothing to address proactively with his own player Kamil Sadlocha (sp?).
I think even petty crap such as Gunnarwolfe Fontaine cellying as if he had just scored in OT to win the Minnesota state AA championship, when in reality it was 6-1 Gophs with <2min left at Value City -- IMO that sort of crap reflects poorly on the standards Rohlik sets for his players. For comparison, Rhett Pitlick literally never left Bob's doghouse after he threw that stick.

Conboy going in the assumedly late 1st is going to purely be as a slower dev C prospect with a ton of size, similar to say Stramel or West
I do wonder if it was discussed at all to have him try play in the O or W to get a little more space and free wheeling style instead of the tighter checking style in the USHL. Obviously he scored at a decent clip for a young guy this year but you wonder if that would let him work on the offensive game more.
I'm sure his dad + coach Larson will definitely be able to address such flaws, but it's the kind of critique you really don't want to see in a potential #1 center.
After reading that I went back and looked at Cooley's pre-draft scouting reports; literally all of them spoke very highly of Cooley's intensity level and relentless pursuit of pucks.
(I don't mean to come off as sour-graping like "wah wah 2023 was our only, best shot". Wanted to compare the two guys' play styles, and better understand what certain scouts look for & how they describe a player's game)
