Burnevik is a really solid college player, but his skating is an issue. It will prevent him from being a good pro and really limited him at the WJC. Good enough for him to be really effective here though.

He did spend a year at St. Thomas. The book on him is he is a solid skater - especially at his size - but guessing you're thinking of someone else.
Jackson Hallum is the one I was thinking of. No good reason except old age for me to confuse the two.

Christian Humphreys... unexpected. Played 10 games for Michigan 2 seasons ago before bolting to OHL. Curious as to why? Either way he seems to be have been a solid player for USNDT U18 (1 PPG) as well as for Kitchener of the OHL (1.3 PPG). But was a 7th round pick for NHL. Curious as to the scouting for him.
Tanner Hendricks appears to have been injured this season. Only played 14 games. 6'4", 205 lb 4th round draft pick... Nice size. Must be talented.
Murr- Undrafted, but has scored for Mankato (0.75 PPG as a D) and wore the A this season.
Humphreys likely was the typical of what we saw from some NTDP guys are just not ready. Has been really good in the O this year. Would imagine he would've benefited from going the route Kvasnicka did this year from the go.

Med Hat is a hard one to read. His teammate was .007 Sv% ahead of him. They seem to give a lot of high danger chances but are an offensive wagon so they win. Casey has been lights out in playoffs seeing over 30 shots a game, which is up quite a bit from his regular season workload.
He did also generally get a lot better through the season. It's nice to see someone who shines when the lights get brightest and steal you a game

was more meaning as far as the starts for Casey that MH gives up a lot of chances when I've watched them but then will also dominate games for long periods of time so just save % may not be the best way to look at it for Casey.
New central scouting rankings will be out soon which will probably be the better tell from guys who watch him play an awful lot more

welp they rolled with Switzer tonight lol. up 3-1 going into the 3rd and he's been solid.
Elsewhere, Kvasnicka's Penticton lit up Ravensberger last night for 4 goals on 28 shots before Kvasnicka had the ENG. Penticton still down 2-1 in the series and 2-1 tonight. We'll see if they can tie it up.
Quiet series for Humphreys against Soo so far. Only 2 points in 3 games but they're up 3-0.
In the Nevers-Phillips/Conboy/Katz series, Nevers didn't play (think he was suspended for game 1?) and Phillips/Conboy/Katz combined for no points getting eliminated 2-0.

Luca Jarvis does seem like a question mark. This far out, it is tough to say. He is also very young and played for a low-scoring Tri City team so I am willing to be patient to see what occurs with his development.

Theres a ton of upside in his game. I think you gotta see what he does because he’ll have 2 more years of playing juniors unless he lights it up next year (which wouldn’t surprise me). Truly think he can put up a lot of numbers with his skill set. And he’d come in as a freshman who would have a lot of games in juniors under his belt.

Sure Doug Woog never would have recruited him, but someone with three 30-goal seasons in the NHL would definitely be a fit for the Gophers.

Luca Jarvis playing full time in juniors as a junior in HS shows what caliber of player he is. His production on a bad team for his age was actually decent too. Hes got a ton of upside. Let him marinate and check back in in 2-3 years.

while I get what you’re saying, then you also have to be willing to cut the guy who doesn’t pan out and Jarvis has to know that too. He’s 6 months older than Conboy and scored the same number of points in about 20 more games. Lot of potential for him and I agree you’re moving on by any means, but guys flame out at every phase

I’ve been thinking you wanna touch last year’s unit as little as possible. It was so good. Humphreys slides into Lamb’s spot perfectly he plays that exact role for Kitchener. Murr/Smith can replace Mittelstadt up top.
That leaves whoever’s left of Murr/Smith for the second unit, with Cullen and Burnevik on the flanks. Kvasnicka down low on the right and either Moore or Hendrickson down low on the left.
That’s what I hope they do at least.

one week away from 2027 draft eligibility, where I’d have to imagine with his trajectory, he’d be being talked about as a top 5 type pick. The amount he’s grown physically this year is crazy and love the commentary in there on his competitiveness
The NTDP always favors their own guys in this tournament, but looks like Harper is a scratch today and he hasn't been great in the tournament. I know he's not committed anymore but seemed relevant and kind of justifies what many of us (and Larson) seem to think about him being ready to play college next year.

Think Cullen will get someone who may look inside the top 10 just because of his trajectory and feeling like he's not all the way tapped with the late growth spurt and young age

i'm going to be kind of surprised if any blue blood program has room/desire for him to come in with a good sized role this fall. Most of them already have a guy and there's still the multiple CHL guys left to commit. Add that to that he's not exactly lit it up on the bigger stages and i think it'll be interesting to see what he does next year

the Klepov situation there is interesting. Was born here per his bio and helped the US to the Hlinka title, but grew up and played youth hockey in Russia before coming back for HS/USHL and now the OHL. I'm counting him as US given he's repped the US internationally
Also the Hurlbert sour grapes from the NTDP will be interesting to see if it hurts his stock not getting to play on the national stage. Think Cullen has passed him on most draft boards now
