the debate is if they're waiting to see what Bob does. Tbh, even more so now, for the really top guys, there's no real benefit to signing super early. Better to wait out the right spot in terms of roster, NIL, etc. when you're closer to being on campus unless it's a this is where I want to be no matter what kind of decision (which is what I'm hoping all the current MN commits are as well as a guy like Harper)

The USHL is a bit watered down this year compared to prior years, but still having a solid season. I think another year of juniors would be important for him though.

Wyatt says him and Brooks are coming next year.
If Wyatt really is a first rounder (and for all intents and purposes he is), makes sense. Roster needs a lot of overhaul and he’s a blue chip at this point. Him and Harper would be good talent pieces though you definitely need more either via portal pulls or older guys who have produced in Canadian jr
No reason for Brooks to be here next year but my guess is promises were made and were probably a big reason they even ended up here in the first place.

We could certainly use a positive development story on the defensive side of things. If he could come in and play third pair off the bat next year that would be huge.
Plan is for Brooks and Wyatt to come in next year.

no but it's fun to think about. would envision like all these guys it depends on who drafts them and what they want as far as development. would envision pretty much anywhere they go they will go together as long as they can.

I have some angst about Mooney transferring but his comment on the commitment post makes me a little less worried.

I just don't think he was ready to jump right into the NCAA game and pivoted once it was apparent he needed more development. Of course, you always like to see players finish out the year but not always viable. There were rumblings of some maturity issues during his time with the NTDP and at Michigan so hopefully he has grown with time (if true - I don't want to act like an authority on that matter). Hopefully he is a fit at center.

I don’t doubt that he’ll be a good player here, more with the number of players we’ll be bringing in next year and where he’d fit in the lineup. Think playing another year of juniors on the top line/PP would benefit him more is all.

all isles fans online (and general hockey followers) have been really pumped to see him blow up. You feel really happy for the kid too who undoubtedly has put in a ton of work when this probably didn’t all pan out how he dreamt it and he chose to go to work to make the most of it
I coached in the Wayzata association while he was coming through and he just had the it factor. Unbelievable work ethic on top of an advanced hockey IQ. He should be a fan favorite.

I believe Conboy has several fighting majors this year as well. I am not necessarily anti-fighting in juniors but it is excessive in Green Bay right now.
