@slap-shot The system is not what gave the Gophers fits...it was more that they were making usual freshmen mistakes and were playing like they knew they had the talent to win when they had to. They would take a game against MSUM more seriously.
Put it this way, I doubt next week we will see a lot of 2 on 1s where both players pass twice just for funsies.
Yeah I agree with all of this, I’m guessing the next two games look more like a normal hockey game where they respect their opponent. Against Lindenwood they could afford to be overly creative and try things they normally wouldn’t because they could outscore their mistakes.
Barto wasn’t great either and hopefully he gets another start at some point, they need a competent backup and I don’t think one bad start needs to be a death sentence.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
Can someone post the new game intro? Thx.
Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.
Well, I was expecting more from this weekend and we weren't the most cohesive team, but it was also the first series of the season.
Bartoszkiewicz was definitely hung out to dry at times including 1-2 goals off of unopposed breakaways. Close may be out guy for the foreseeable future, but the numbers Bartoszkiewicz got don't do justice how well he played.
Lindenwood got more out of the weekend than we did. I'm sure that they expected to be swept, but short of pulling an upset, it was a very successful weekend for them in not getting completely slaughtered Saturday and playing a tight one Sunday before we pulled away towards the end.
About the shop, yeah it's not good at least right now. They still have a lot of stuff they had intended to sell during the 100th and 101st seasons. And oddly they now have the women's official game pucks. I spoke to the guy running the store and he said he's been trying to get the men's pucks among other things in, but the only things that have been showing up have been more foam pucks and other things he doesn't need. If you were watching the games on TV this weekend, the shots of a full store were pre-pandemic clips of Goldy's Locker Room; the Fanatics store there now is as bare as it was last season.
Not every disease is visible. Not every pain comes from an obvious wound. Some people you see day-to-day may be suffering in ways you or I may never understand and fighting just to live a normal life. Please consider contributing to the Facial Pain Association and together we can find a cure.
They claim they will be getting new apparel in as the season goes on. Guess we’ll see.

While I can hope, I'm certainly not holding my breath
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
My wife had planned to buy a sweatshirt on Saturday and after seeing what was in the store decided we can go to the mall this weekend for her to get some Gopher stuff.

When I visited MN last year and again this fall I found plenty of high quality Gophers gear at the Scheels in EP.
