Why?  I kinda wish Moe was on the team too.  That would be a very solid tandem.

Some people here seem to think a goalie’s size is the main factor on whether they’re good. I respectfully disagree.

not the main factor but I am generally a fan of big goalies. I would take Moe on our roster. I’d also take this mammoth kid

It's not 1980 anymore. The tall goalies are often even more athletic than the small guys.

The point is we don't want the Gophers to miss on the next this guy. Oh look, 6'5".

So on the glass seats (Row 0) will have their knees where the glass meets the boards? Or that's the same as it is now?

Row 0 seats should definitely be luxury, wider seats at a premium over the other rows. But give row 1 people priority to grab the seat in front of them (which might not work perfectly if they are wider enough to have fewer seats...)

The current corners are only 2 ft radius?  That has to be a typo.  What is the current radius? Nevermind, just saw it in the spreadsheet.

Yeah there's definitely going to be another round of reseating for this.  The cynic in me thinks it'll be a repeat of last time, but maybe, with Coyle now in charge, they'll find a lower impact way of doing that.

No reason to reseat anyone but row 1 (and they don't need to move if they don't want to). Beyond that any newly open seats in row 1 can fall into the standard upgrade process.

It will be interesting to see what will happen. If they want to add more sections to the students, then I would guess they would try to do that next off season with this remodel.  Obviously as someone who has seats in a section where they would want to do that, it will be interesting on how that plays out. If we hear rumblings about that happening, I would love to be able to scout out our new potential seats. We were moved during the playoffs and picked section 17, but after sitting there would prefer another location if forced to move again.

The 3D seating map is absolutely awesome and helped me during multiple season ticket moves over the years.

Where can I find that and is that a function where they actually show you what you actually see from the  seat you are looking at? I have seen that function when looking at seats for other venues, and yes, that is a helpful tool.

It's only a few rows per section, but you can get a pretty darn good feel about where the glass hits the net, where the net hits the open sides, etc. and use that to have a feel for what the view is from other rows.

So what’s the current radius of the enormous corners right now? Certainly greater than the planned 24 foot radius…28 foot corner radius? 32 foot corner radius? I can’t see the entire spreadsheet on my phone, but am curious about the exact number. To me, corner radius being reduced is a bigger issue than simply reducing the rink width.

I'm guessing most people don't look at the tickets thread in the offseason, but I just posted a thread there for possibly splitting a season ticket.

Check it out if you're interested.

According to the spreadsheet, it's 20 ft, which surprised me. I knew it wasn't 2 ft, but I thought it was in the low teens given how deep they are.

If we're just talking about the sides (5-9 and 17-21), then yeah it's pretty straight forward: either leave everyone where they are or move everyone a row down (depending on how they shape the gaps for the benches), then let anyone who wants to opt out find someplace new.

The real issue is the ends and corners since they length of the rink isn't changing. If they do end up giving sections 11 and 15 to the students, that will help a lot since the seating configuration in those sections would be moot, but that still leaves 1-4, 10, 16, and 22-24 because now matter what they do, the perspective of those seats are going to change and (with the exception of section 1) there's going to be fewer row 0 seats in those sections than in row 1.

I'm also curious what they're going to do with section 1 when they lower the rink. If they leave it as is, it may not affect row 1 that much, but rows behind them may have an obstructed view of battles along the end wall.

I would have loved to have Jared Moe right now, having the size I want in a goalie, competing with Close and then Bart in juniors.

No you wouldn’t.  If Moe was still around you’d never know what you had in Close and you’d be asking for Bart to come up to be the back up.

And what did Moe do in Madison this year?

I think both Moe and Close’s numbers are a product of what team they were on, but in my opinion Moe is the better goalie. I’m very happy with Close though!

it’s been so quiet!!! At this point seems likely we’ll bring in Brody Lamb, but I figured we’d get an NLI announcement by now.

Maybe waiting on assistant coach decision before, which we have also heard zero on. Is Ben Gordon under contract? Thought his deal might also be up.

Aren't assistant coaches on a year-by-year basis?

I was looking back at the 2013-14 to compare the d core to this upcoming year. We only had 7 d that year! How did that happen? Must of had like no injuries cause I don’t remember it being a problem. This year’s team will have 9.

Reilly-Holl

Marshall-Skjei

Parenteau-Brodzinski

Bischoff

Johnson-Faber

Staudacher-LaCombe

Koster-Chesley

Mittelstadt

Which one are you taking?

There may be a recency bias but the current looks better.

Reilly vs Lacombe: Reilly

Skjei vs Faber: Super close, Faber slight edge

After that the current guys have the clear edge

Would be thrilled if John M. became an energy 4th liner who can net a goal every now and then. Hoping he and Strobel can really enhance bottom six.

I think John should watch a days worth of Cullen Munson film. That’s the player he should be here. If he tries to be Casey on the 4th line he won’t have success.
