With the forward pipeline very full, I have to imagine it’s a current recruit, a transfer with 1-2 years left or high end 1 and done (still dreaming). I’d be surprised if they added anyone with 4 years of eligibility.

If I want to really throw something out there, Kvasnicka never officially signed in Penticton to my knowledge.

late transfer would almost certainly not be a 4 year guy. Same with someone trying to play pro and still in contention now as they’ll be leaving after well less than a full 3-4 years

i agree. I was more alluding to that a transfer would not be that many years. I would kind of doubt they take a new 4 year commit (if they haven’t enrolled they aren’t a transfer).

Considering how Pitlick left us for Mankato around this time last year, best if we all remember that the portal lists we get don’t necessarily include all of the players who may be open and/or looking to jump ship.
At this point worrying about the team adding any portal transfer at any point from now until the end of the season seems silly at best. Sure it could happen but...

Is there a possibility that we still add another forward? I believe we are at 25 total and 14 forwards. I know we had 14 forwards last year so I’m wondering if that’s Bob’s preference.

The Gophers scored one of the best pickups in the portal with goaltender Luca Di Pasquo. Michigan State hated to see him leave, but after Trey Augustine announced he’d be back for his senior season, the writing was on the wall.Di Pasquo played in just seven games last year, but his 1.70 GAA and .933 save percentage tell you plenty about his potential. If he handles the grind of a starter’s workload, he could easily be in the Mike Richter Award conversation. His ceiling? As high as anyone who changed addresses this offseason.
Minnesota also added forward Tanner Ludtke from Omaha. Limited to eight games a year ago, he’s still a 2023 Utah third-round pick with plenty of upside if he’s healthy this fall.

At my advanced age I have no interest in State Street in Halloween. I hope I can find a hotel.
I desperately hope they keep the 7pm/5:30pm schedule from last year. It was PERFECT--it let my family go to WAY more games than we might have otherwise on Saturday.
Not getting MSU/Michigan til later in the year is nice for a young team

Question: Brennan Poderzay is listed as an assistant coach. Is he a full blown 4th member of the coaching staff who can recruit and everything or is he still a volunteer goaltending coach?
If I recall, back when the new rule came in to allow a 4th official member to coaching staffs, it was written that doing so would eliminate the opportunity for volunteer coaches. Which is why Bob kept it at 3 (himself, Miller & Gordo) to keep both Poderzay and Martin on staff.

If PJ Fleck can make an occasional cameo on skates at men’s hockey practices, I would assume that Paul Martin can too (within reason, i.e. probably not every single day.)

Martin can't recruit on the road, but he's around practice to 'observe' and can then talk with players after practice, or watch video with them. I know he also runs a leadership group with Cal Dietz. Usually the jobs for this are hockey ops or video coach or in Paul's case Director of Player Development since the 2023-24 season.
