I wanted to say in my insomniac post about Friday that our team could use a bloody nose to set us straight. I didn't want it to happen this weekend, but now that it has, let's see some fire all the way through the rest of the season and on the road to Tampa.
Not every disease is visible. Not every pain comes from an obvious wound. Some people you see day-to-day may be suffering in ways you or I may never understand and fighting just to live a normal life. Please consider contributing to the Facial Pain Association and together we can find a cure.
Such horrible officiating, I hope this officiating crew isn’t allowed to be together again. Guys checked into the boards and over the boards and nothing called. Too many men challenge was so bad I think the team was done after that. Lots of cross checks that were ignored and trips and interference,.. Meaningless game and no pride for the winner. Hopefully they dont have injuries, this leaves a mark on their egos that motivates them, and after all it’s one game that doesn’t matter.
I’m looking forward to what they can do post season. This is a team that could make a deep run.
Any reason the B1G used a NCHC ref, Brian Hankes, this weekend? Not that is why they lost, just wonder why he was used. Maybe he is always a fill in. I just don't follow who refs the games that closely, but it was mentioned a couple of times that he is a NCHC ref.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
Anybody have an update on Faber (other than the Jess tweet)?
I’d hazard a guess that most teams that go on to win an NCAA hockey championship in April, lose a game in February /p>

I didn’t think the reffing was bad but I didn’t have the benefit of replay. I thought the snuggy hit into the bench was clean when I saw it live.
The Gophers lost because they couldn’t win a face off, they couldn’t hit the net from the slot, and because they couldn’t hit wide open guys with passes. They had opportunity and couldn’t take advantage.

This is what I was thinking. I hate that it happened but if this is what it takes to get them playing their best hockey down the stretch then so be it. Time will tell I guess.
As far as the too many men call, I’ll reference a play that no one may remember, but I do:
January 2018. Last year of tDon. Saturday game at Mariucci vs Bob’s #1 Huskies. The EXACT same thing (and I mean identical) happened but in the Gophers favor en route to a 2-0 upset win.
As soon as the Kurth goal was waved off last night I immediately thought it was the hockey gods evening up the score after all this time. Too bad for Bob he ended up on the wrong side of both.
For the record I disagreed with the call back in 2018 and I disagreed with the call last night.
I’m grumpy this morning.

Maybe not inspiring, but certainly more applicable to life than others. When you eat a lot of steak, you’re eventually gonna have to take a dump.Boy, some of those Confucious quotes aren't as inspiring as others, are they?
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
The Gophers could have had 45+ shots. They need to shoot more and good things will happen. Very nice to win 3 of the 4 games. Wisconsin swept UMD in the beginning of the year, so they can play tough. Sweep at home and split on the road. Go Gophers!
Anyone remember when during the game Snuggy got pushed into the wisco bench? I wanted to watch the replay because I missed it at the game and on my cursory fast forwarding didn’t see it. Or was it during the bball game early on?
I had to rewatch that scrum on the boards too just before our first goal when they didn’t realize for several seconds that the puck was halfway down the rink. That gave everyone a good chuckle as we heard the refs yelling at them that it was down the ice and they all looked super confused. I couldn’t see the puck flip out on the TV either. ?

Even TV commentators were confused by the wayward puck. No one seemed to know where it went. Or how.
Snuggy topple was during tv but I’m not sure when.
Note: Due to inflation dirty deeds will no longer be done dirt cheap.

The Snuggy play was about a minute and a half into the third period.

B1G uses Ref's from the NCHC, CCHA, AHL, ECHL. I don't know why they just dont have their own

We saw the puck up in the air leaving the zone right in front of us, but thought it may have left the rink when this all happened. When the ref yelled/motioned that the puck was out of the zone and that it was now in the neutral zone and MN had the puck... Our section all laughed watching the players just realizing this.

From Jess Myers postgame writeup of Saturday's game. As some on here have said, maybe they really don't care that much about the B1G title or are waiting to celebrate with the fans at Mariucci the last weekend.
MADISON, Wis. — No matter the on-ice result on Saturday, the Minnesota Gophers made no plans to celebrate a Big Ten title. Even needing just one win to clinch, the trophy was not at the Kohl Center, and there were no celebratory hats or t-shirts waiting in the visitors' locker room.

I like it. Team seems incredibly focused on the bigger picture.

If that's true, it's one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. Why Jeopardize a #1 or the overall #1 in the NCAAs to take possession of a league title at home.
I call balderdash on that line of thinking...If you want to hoist some hardware in front of the home crowd (which is admirable) then take care of business, win the league on Friday, then win out and hoist the Tourney trophy in front of the Mariucci crowd. Hell, you can drag out the league trophy and hoist that one as well.

I think you misread what I was thinking. I what I mean is that they will win it on the road and then get it presented to them on home ice. Maybe even on SR night. No way are they trying to lose them all to win it at home.

He’s not saying they lost on purpose to celebrate at home. He’s saying they’re literally waiting to celebrate if they celebrate at all (seems like they’re focused on bigger and better things)
