Bantle 3-1.

At least hand out vaseline if the refs are gonna call the game like this.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Sounds like an egregious overturn based on the radio team reaction.
Unless there were two guys off the screen to the right that wasn't caught on the review they showed on TV, it was absurdly bad.Sounds like an egregious overturn based on the radio team reaction.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
Nothing really seems to be clicking tonight and they are looking a half step slower than the badgers...
End of 2, Gophs trail 1-3.

Gophers need to clean it up. One more period come on boys!!
Serious hometown cooking by these refs. Atrocious.
We only saw one replay in arena and it didn’t appear that the puck completely crossed the line. Was it shown any more clearly at home?
That was not offsides by the rule book either. Then they don’t call a blatant trip of Cooley during our PP and immediately call a softy on Knies.
We better prove ourselves with a hell of a response in the third.
Go Gophers!!
Radio crew was dumbfounded. Tweeter was, also (they posted replays)

The no call trip on Cooley was absurd, should have been a penalty.
It will be a good challenge in the 3rd to see if they can battle back.
I see it often and I’ve posted about before. Too many men is so inconsistently called. They give A LOT of lee weigh on line changes even when the guy coming off the bench is making a play or even playing the puck and the teammate isn’t off the ice or even over the boards. In the Gophers case it’s a nick pick call.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Come on Gophers!
Win or lose this has been a pitiful showing this weekend.
What happened to Faber?
Why no Faber in the third?
Well hopefully this wakes them up for the stretch run here.
Game over, Wisco wins 3-1.

That was brutal.
Wow. I did not see that coming. A very poor effort by the Gophers.
Loss hurts, but hope Faber is ok.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
Welp.
This whole weekend had an Arizona State feel to it. Wisconsin had some help from the Officials, but they had more jump and the Gophers looked a step slower.
It should be 2-2 right now. We played like crap and so did the refs. Hope they think about some things on the bus ride home.
If this means they run Penn State into the ground next weekend I’m all for it
Gophers played down to the badgers for most of the weekend. Disappointing.
What happened to Faber?
Time to go see if there is some booze in this town. ??
Someone said it but if this is what wakes the team up for the stretch run so be it.
On the bright side with the win wisconSIN will give Granato an extension.
Keep your stick on the ice...
The whole missing the net things is getting annoying. I don’t even think some of those shots would’ve hit a soccer goal.
The no goal call changed momentum but Wisconsin wanted the game more than the Gophers.
On a positive note, Lamb looked terrific. Hopefully this wakes the team up. Definitely not playing great heading down the stretch.
What happened to Faber?
I quickly went back and looked to see when he left. He didn't see him play at all in the 3rd, but with 9 minutes left in the 2nd, he took a hit to the shoulder at center ice. He finished the period though. Not saying that was it, as he looked a bit slow all night. Hopefully just sick.

Jess just said he saw Faber leaving the locker room and hd looked fine.
Yeah you just gotta hope this type of game leads to a more consistent effort. The team seemed really off today, like they all ate a huge meal at Micky’s before the game. Pretty much every hockey team has a game like this.Well hopefully this wakes them up for the stretch run here.

Just hoping Faber is okay
When you eat a lot of steak, you’re eventually gonna have to take a dump.
Boy, some of those Confucious quotes aren't as inspiring as others, are they?
Just landed in Phoenix after being in Hawaii for the past week. I was hoping that I would open my phone up to a Gophers win and us lifting the trophy but damn. I had to leave Hawaii and the Gophers lose to the lousy Badgers all in a matter of 12 hours. Rough Saturday to say the least.
My only hope is, as many have said, I hope this lights a fire under the boys and they come out hot the rest of the way. The other losses recently could be explained away; SCSU is good and it was right off of the holiday break with the team tired and sick, Michigan is a good team and they were the better team on Saturday. But there is zero excuse for this team to be losing to Wisconsin this year. No matter the refs, if it’s at home or on the road, etc. The good thing is it seems like the coaching staff is aware of this but for the most part the guys were getting away with just being more talented. Well they found the hard way that that won’t be enough. As much as this loss sucks, better now than in March or April. But now learn from it and don’t you dare let it happen again.
Incoming silver lining:
- Lamb was fantastic
- Still #1 in the pairwise
- Just bought Tony Granato another year of sub-mediocre badger hockey

It’s how we lost that’s bugging me. If Bucky had a horseshoe up their arse that’s one thing, but this is the first time all year that they legitimately looked disjointed and undisciplined.
If they take 5-6 points from Pegula we’ll all forget about this one quick!
Split on the road, I’m ok if they split at PSU and then try to get 4+ from OSU at home.
Need 4 of 6 from each series remaining to sweep the season series with all B1G teams.
I’m fine with a split at Pegula too but the optics are bad with splitting two series in a row. Gopher fans would lose their minds.

A split at Pegula wouldn’t be the end of the world, but an emphatic statement after the hot mess i just witnessed would be confidence inspiring. I still can’t believe we played as woeful as we did this weekend. Yuck.
I just want to see two solid, disciplined games against Penn State. No more bad NZ turnovers and sloppy breakouts where we get hemmed in our own zone for extensive periods of time.
tBob will certainly have a whole lot of ammo to rip this team a new asshole after this weekend. Woof
This weekend reminds me of the ASU weekend. The team was not motivated. Sometimes they play like this is basketball where they think they can just raise the wick halfway through the final period. Hockey doesn't work that way.
WI is better than their record, but MN had a poor showing this weekend. One goal against a pretty bad team, and they were outworked both nights. WI deserved the W tonight

Let me pile on to say that I also thought Lamb was terrific tonight - some glimpses of what the coaches must have been seeing from him in practice to warrant his inclusion in the lineup all year.
FWIW, I think that John Mittelstadt deserves to play every night, and I thought he and Strobel looked good together tonight. Mittelstadt is the freshman that has most impressed me this year outside of the obvious (Cooley, Snuggerud, Chesley).
