I hope.

In general, today was about as perfect as it could be for weather.

Sorry to hear. I've probably spent 50% of the last month laying in my bed due to the same problem. Wouldn't wish this on anyone. Hope yours resolves much more quickly!

Suddenly, a ton of pea-dime sized hail dumped on Saint Louis Park.

It started just west of the cities, and has been slowly getting worse ever since.  Nasty bow on the radar right now, guessing that'll be about as strong as it can get.  Lots of reports of 1 inch hail in the southern half of the loop.

Maplewood…

Just checked out how hail damage on the Dodge Journey.  Not that bad at all.  Maybe 6 dings, but nothing to make a claim over for me. It's paid off, has a 170,000 miles on it and I'm keeping it cause of the MaxCare (extended warrenty) I have on it.

That is easily the longest I’ve ever seen it hail, must have been almost 15 minutes until it switched to rain.

Driving home from eagan area south on cedar I could see a huge anvil cloud with a nice lightning show within off to the south.  Completely clear sky everywhere else around.
thankfully not a lot of traffic because I kept staring at the clouds.

Southern half of the loop, not south of the loop.  Basically south of 394 on the west side, south of 94 on the east side, and north of 494

Today is one of those crappy days. It is 48 degrees, wind is blowing out of the north and it is misting. Just miserable. Enough moisture to not get anything done. I'm tired of putting on sweatshirts this late in the year....

Decided to take a half day Friday after seeing the forecast.  We put the new Sparks in the water Sunday but way too cold to enjoy them, hoping Friday is better.

Last night the storms rolled through here at 230am. Today, they just passed though. 1.6 inches of rain again. Lots of rain, wind and some hail. The racetrack near SF took a major hit during last nights storm, just a few hours after the race. On this date in 1998, we got married and a major storm hit, that knocked out the power at our wedding venue and blew out some of the guests car windows. I always tell the wife that it was a sign...

Also, this gives us 8.7 inches of rain in May.

Major weather event up by Alexandria. A confirmed tornado damaged houses in Forada and tracked north east. Damage reported in Nelson and Osakis. According to the scanner, at least one person had to be rescued and extracted from debris.

Buffalo getting nailed right now, per a friend. Very dark and eerie at my place, but we'll see what happens when it hits that 694-494 heat island. If it is big enough, it will roll through. Otherwise, coin flip on whether it goes northside or southside. The severe stuff, anyway.

My balcony has 7 boards, about 10" wide. 2 boards wet? Meh, rain. 4 boards wet? A little wind. 7 wet? Uh oh. Rain is hitting my patio door, BUT, I see clear skies to the west. This is gonna be a nothingburger for me overall.

11 minutes from possible "ZOMG" to "it has passed" here. Just wind and rain. Pure nothingburger.

Sitting in our cabin near Bemidji as the storm went through.  We don’t have gutters on our cabin and it has a metal roof.  The rain was sheeting off the front so heavy we couldn’t see through the water.  It was like being behind a waterfall.  And our shore station isn’t in place yet so the boat is tied to the dock.  The wind caused the boat to pull the last two dock sections about 9 inches to the left.

What have I got? I got no snacks and I got no respect.

A buddy of mine had a 10 foot diameter Oak tree go through the roof of his family's cabin by Ashby yesterday afternoon.  My brother-in-law's friend had his house destroyed near Alex by a tornado.  They were in the basement but unharmed.  I'm sure everyone is going to have one of these stories.

I think they just showed this on KARE 11.  The tree was huge and the entire house was pancaked!  I hope your friend wasn’t there, it looked awful.

I know everyone is thinking it and saying it but...this heat can eat a D!  Put that together with welding for work is a bad combo.  Our shop isn't air conditioned so I have the doors closed to keep as much of the heat out as I can.  It's still muggy as hell.  I can weld for about 20-25 minutes before I'm sweating pretty heavily, so I stop and go drink some water in front of the fan.  I started at 3:30 this morning to get as much done before I'll slow down even more later this morning.

Kudos to those who work outside in this.

Minnesotans love to delude themselves into thinking our supposedly great summers make our horrible winters worthwhile.  Let's not kid ourselves.  At least for the southern half of of MN, our summers are as hot as almost anywhere else in the country.

My son has a baseball game at 6 tonight.  He's the catcher, and his team plays horrible defense (which makes for looooong innings).  Have fun in the heat tonight kid.  Smile

I forgot about the kiddos that will play in this crap today, though the vaunted Mankato West football team cancelled practice this morning because of the heat so coaches do have options if they choose.

I don't mind the heat. However, the humidity/dew point can go to hell.

Thankfully, headed to Da UP tomorrow for a long weekend. Highs up there are going to be about 60 degrees. Smile

WIMPS!

The Trojans powered through practice this morning.  Though in fairness we canceled yesterday because of lightning and needed to before we head to SDSU Camp on Thursday. And we did cancel flag football this evening for our elementary kids.
