I am glad that retailers have backed off the craziness of being open on Thanksgiving or at midnight for Black Friday.
Ive always said the ones (corporate) who makes or made the decisions to be open on Thanksgiving or midnight on Black Friday should put their decisions into footprints. They should be coming into work, working the floor and not staying at home, relaxing, feasting with their families and friends.

Winner... hard to belive how well the Wild played the last two games. Must have been a pretty tough atmosphere around that group. I've heard a lot from the GM this week, but not once have I heard him talk through him ripping the team while in Sweden and reflecting on it.

I've been prepaying at the pump at both Kwik Trip and SA for several years. I didn't know that gas stations even had that option for paying inside after filling for the last couple years.

Ditto for the Holiday by my place. Drives me nuts. I hate pre-pay. It doesn't help that Holiday/Speedway/SuperAmerica/Circle K (IIRC) are all the same company. Kwik Trip switched to prepay a long time ago.

But, I usually have something else to buy, so I'm going inside anyway: newspaper (shuddup), Monster drinks, smokes, maybe a snack. And then guessing how much gas you need? Ugh.
On top of that, they have cameras. During the COVID shutdown, I loaded up on Monster/smokes/and filled up (supply chain fears, sorta). Clerk didn't ring me up for gas, even when notified I filled up. I got a bill within a week, with photo proof. No worries, I paid up, clerk made a mistake. So this "running off w/o getting paid" is BS. They'll get you.

During the bulk of the pandemic I was the evening manager at our store. I can't even hazard a guess at how many "drive off" reports I had to authorize and submit to corporate loss prevention, from my gas station/convenience store cashiers. To be honest, I'm stunned that gas stations still allow "You're good to go on pump 6. We'll see you to pay inside".

I love paying at the pump. I HATE the receipt not printing and having to go inside to then get one. If we have the wifes vehicle, it doesn't matter, but for my truck I need it for tax purposes. I would say it is about a 50% chance that the receipt actually prints out.

I bought a discount card with 10 'coupons' for some sport at Apple Valley HS. One discount was for 7 cents/gallon off at Holiday stations, unlimited uses, but pay inside. I never go in to pay, but for this I had to. I did it a couple times and found it was easier than I thought. Last week I stopped there for gas and was trying to start pumping, then a loud voice came over the loudspeaker--"WE ARE NOW PREPAY ONLY!" Well now...

I think full service is required in OR and NJ. It's a weird feeling to just sit there as they pump gas for you.
It was also required in Northern Ireland, at least at the one station I stopped in near Derry. They speak "English" in that part of Northern Ireland in name only. It's so bad even Scottish people have no idea what the hell they are saying. So I get out to pump some gas and this guy comes running up yelling at me and until he took the gas hose away from I had no idea WTF he was talking about.

I remember the gas station where Bobby & Steve's Autoworld in Mpls. is at now was full service. Also, so couple years ago, a gas station on Chester, Mt. was still full service.
It was required.in Bahrain when I lived there, and still is in Thailand, Philippines and Myanmar among others.
