How familiar are you with the 394/94 interchange? That's the all time classic near me. Shock

Very familiar but immaterial to the driver in the video coming in way too fast.

Russo’s most recent Straight From the Source podcast was a great listen. Mike Guentzel was his guest.

Couple things stood out to me in case you don't get to it... Guentzel brought up how he doesn't believe the age difference between Minnesota State and Minnesota matters, having good players matters.

The other one was that he no longer has the desire to pursue coaching, but would rather look into a management type position in the NHL.

Also he gave some credit to Scott Bell when talking about current favorite Gophers among the defensemen that he was still involved with recruiting as he felt Bell deserved a lot of credit for landing those guys, but he dodged that one.

And Guentzel defended Sammy Walker, being a three-time captain means something.

Don’t get to watch much Twins, Wolves or Wild as YTTV dropped greedy ass BSN last year. On Sat the Wild and Wolves were both on national broadcasts but of course the games started a half hour apart so hard to follow both. Surprisingly tonight’s Twins game is on channel 23 plus the Wolves game starting a half hour later. With 3 NBA playoff games tonight of course the Wolves game gets bumped to NBATV and then of course is blocked. This shit is getting old…FU Sinclair.

Bummer.  I don't listen as often as I used to because of Spotify, but when I was back in town I always had The Current on in the car and have always enjoyed her.

She said she will be back at some point. Just mentally exhausted right now, and I don't blame her. Her stalker (if he's the only one) was also busted stalking fellow Current DJ Jade recently.

In the article in the Star Trib, they announced her boss was no longer with the company. Announcement came just after her last shift.

Something is afoot, and no idea what it is.

I don't think that is a necessary detail, unless something happened with a scheduling or something of that sort. *shrug*

She's been a DJ and avid supporter lof local music for decades. It's an interesting tidbit.

Also the stalker think I believe occurred a handful of years ago so I doubt itvhas anything do with her departure.

The stalker thing happened in 2015? Something like that. Although the same stalker was busted a year or two ago stalking Jade, another Current DJ.

Big part of it. My question is, why did she leave, if her boss was no longer going to be part of the company (the guy who was responsible for the pay inequity/lack of promotions/etc)?

i am not sure how old he is he was on KFAN last night he told the story of what happened, about 5 weeks ago he fell down outside of his home, he had to crawl back to his place his girl friend called ER,  he had lengthy time in the hospital they thought he had a heart attack but after being in the hospital they said no heart attack. He went home and was still in so much pain he had to go back to ER, then they found out that he had 7 broken ribs from his fall. He is doing ok but is still limited on what he can do.

Aloha!

This isn't the correct place for this but it's the first place I thought of. Does anyone pay the subscription fee for Elite Prospects? I really enjoy my Athletic subscription and am wondering if adding EP would be worth spending money.

Everybody has their own preferences.  I get Netflix for free through T-mobile but I watch it about once a month.  For me Netflix would never be worth the $20 a month or whatever it is.  For as many Twins, Wild, and Gopher hockey games I watch, $16/month (if you buy the whole year) isn't that crazy.  I'd watch that way more than I'd ever watch Netflix.

What streaming platforms have Bally these days? For a lot of people there won't be much other choice and they'll have to accept the price.

Aren't they advertising their own? So, nobody. You can still get the channel on Comcast.

Everyone thinks they can have their own streaming service and have it work. It doesn't. The WWE failed at it and they have more ratings and viewers then Bally will ever have.

Yeah, I think DirectTV Stream is the only one that has it now.

I've basically given up watching sports and found that I don't really miss it. When everything came back after the pandemic shutdowns, I realized that I hadn't even cared they were gone. The exception is Gopher hockey, but I enjoy listening on radio and then catching an occasional game away from home (or on Peacock, the one game on antenna TV last year, etc.). I have enjoyed catching some baseball games on Apple TV+ recently. I mostly rotate through a few streaming services depending on what I want to watch, no cable or streaming bundle, and found that's all I need at this point. I realize that that might not be workable for most people on a sports-focused message board though!

And I agree with Scooby, most of these aren't going to work out. Most content doesn't have the demand to stand alone, without being part of a bundle where everyone has to pay for it regardless of whether they watch it. Apple and Amazon can lose money on their services and not really even notice, but most of these can't.

I am hoping for the day that the streamers get control.

I want to be able to watch a game and pick what I want to see and watch. If I do not want to hear the announcers. I can turn that off and just get the sounds of the game. If I want to watch a specific camera, I can chose that camera. I think this could be the future.

Right now... I enjoy when sports are broadcast in surround sound. I can turn off my center channel and just listen to the sounds of the game. It's nice.

19.99 a YEAR? What streaming service can you get for less than 2 bucks a month?

From an article:

"The closest comparisons to other sports-specific streamers are likely to be the individual league’s out-of-market packages. MLB.TV costs $24.99 per month, while NBA League Pass Premium costs $29.99 per month. In another stratosphere, NFL Sunday Ticket currently costs $74 per month, while NHL.TV and MLS Live are now part of ESPN+ on the $6.99 per month plan."

Sports are expensive. People will pay it. I will.

Nice thing about this is your can cancel it if the local team is shitty and you're not going to be watching much of them. Or, when baseball season is over, cancel it for a couple months before the NHL starts up, etc.

When it comes to the long haul sports (Wild, Twins), I'm definitely a bandwagoner. I just don't have the desire to waste a summer watching bad baseball ?

I guess I'm still lucky to have DirecTv.  I pay more than I like, but still get Ballys, BTN, ESPN's, and I have the regional sports package that allows me to see other college hockey teams when they are one the regional networks. At this point we have zero streaming services, but may consider BTN plus or ESPN+ in the future. I'm sure it will all come crashing down at some point if ( when ) Bally's leaves DirecTv. The only other one is Amazon for some NFL games, but we don't order from Amazon, so no need for an account from them and I can probably survive by missing the Thursday games each week.

I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.

Somebody needs to figure out an interface that handles all your streaming services with one, nice remote control, one schedule, and search across all platforms.  That's part of why I'm sticking with Comcast for now.  I like that all the apps are right there with my broadcast TV.  But even then it's a pain to switch from service to service (although mostly it's just switching to .  It would just be nice to have everything consolidated for ease of use and searching.  My garage TV doesn't have a cable box and I just use the Roku to use the Comcast app and other apps, but it's such a pain.  Wouldn't want that through the whole house, but it's fine for my garage that I only use a couple times a month.

my Logitech remote handles every device in my house except my AppleTv.  I wish they didn’t stop making them because I’m a year or two away from multiple remotes unless I replace my DLP that doesn’t seem to wantto die.

i have two little kids so I don’t watch a lot of TVand by the time they go to bed I’m not up that much longer.  If Ballys can be sustainable at $20 a month then more power to them but I suspect it will be a tough road

We have spectrum and still get anything we need for Minnesota sports.  Except I need to upgrade to get the nhl network.  My promo period expires soon so hoping I can sort out a better option that has that included.  Although with that ? site where I can watch any nhl game I want for free I guess it’s not super necessary. ?
