USCHO publishing some more thoughts on NCAA Site Selection, the CHL/NCAA issue and the NCAA Settlement with revenue sharing/roster limits.
If the CHL/NCAA issue were to be figured out shortly, teams could add players after the semester. Just throwing this out there with no knowledge, but Minnesota has roster space to add a forward.
Adam Wodon has thoughts too...

Wouldn't it be something to see Hunter Haight join the Gophers after the WJC?
Not to be that guy, but I believe they've changed their name to the fHawk Tuahs.Gophers move up in rankings over the Whioux
How would it be beneficial for CHL players to go US college hockey? Extend age limits?
A certain player Gopher fans are VERY familiar with scored a huge goal (unassisted) early in the 3rd period to give Mankato a two goal lead. He clearly enjoys scoring against the corn.
Not a fan at all of Pitlick skating by every teammate after the goal.

would be interesting if pro teams wanted to keep some players closer to home and tried to work with college teams in their area. Might pose some difficulties with roster management though.

resources would be my guess as well as possible NIL/pay.

College hockey is a step up from the CHL. The big teams in college hockey have better facilities and travel. CHL players can’t go to the AHL, so it’s an option if they want to play against older competition.
The proposal right now is players in major junior ice hockey or on professional teams can retain NCAA eligibility as long as they are not paid more than actual and necessary expenses as part of that participation.
They’ll vote in November and it’d go into effect on 8/1/25.
Mankato Brewery launches their beer to support the MSU Maverick hockey collective.
I am the official Iowa Hawkeye football fan of GPL!
is it on the NCAA list of approved substances?Mankato Brewery launches their beer to support the MSU Maverick hockey collective.
In order to stay on brand it is a HIGHLY aged beer that has only one enhanced ingredient that they recently received from the parent school (University of Minnesota). 😉 🤣
Relevant to the Gophers: Max Plante will be out next weekend in Duluth

Huge opener this weekend for the B10 and SOS battle with Mich st and BC. Excited to see this one before the main event later tonight
BC has been absolutely skating circles around MSU so far
3-0 end of 2 and officially Michigan State getting embarrassed at home
Shots are 22-15 BC, but it’s BC by a long way in this game. MSU is not generating scoring chances and it feels to BC is coming in waves.BC has been absolutely skating circles around MSU so far
agreed completely. Shots are wildly misleading in the box in this one. BC could be up 5 or 6 easily at this point. Not a great sign for Michigan State in their own barn. Will be interesting to see if their team speed is really this poor, or if it’s just BC. Probably a bit of both
A very mixed bag kind of night for the B10.
MSU gets demolished, Mich beats ASU (people who were in on ASU making the postseason can't be feeling good so far with a loss to Air Force as well), OSU ties AIC and WI looks like they're going to lose to.... Lindenwood with a Gopher connection. Barto picking up the win for Lindenwood tonight and proving Gophers are always superior to Badgers.
The Wisconsin game is final now. Lindenwood wins 4-2 in Madison. Barto stops 34 of 36 shots.
Coach is playing 3-D chess. There are only so many spots on the Gophers so he had Pitlick & Barto go to other teams to beat Michigan & Wisconsin.
Yes I realize it hurts our strength of schedule a little bit but as fans I suspect I am not alone in enjoying seeing Michigan and Wisconsin lose.
MSU got shut out at home vs. BC, UW lost to Lindenwood and OSU tied AIC.
The UMD Bulldogs scored four consecutive goals in a nonconference win at UMass Lowell on Friday night. 🥅
Congratulations to UMD on picking up a 3rd win in their last 14 games.
They ended last season going 2-9-1 and are now 1-1 this season.
I hate to be the thread police, but shouldn't we be discussing the game in the Ice Breaker thread?
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
Or the live chat. 😉
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
These are not funny results.MSU got shut out at home vs. BC, UW lost to Lindenwood and OSU tied AIC.
Losing to Lindenwood and tying AIC? Dumbasses.
My college hockey innocence has been ruined. Years ago I would’ve laughed my a$$ off at Wisconsin losing to Lindenwood, but now I’m like “dammit that’s gonna hurt the big 10’s pairwise”.
Big Ten teams are going to play over 70 non conference games.
Enjoy Lindenwood beating Bucky
Agreed. If we do our job, who cares what this does to the big ten pairwise.
I very much enjoyed the WI loss.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Michigan State beats Boston College 4-3 in regulation. That is a good result for the Big Ten.
BADgers losing again 2-0 to Lindenwood in the 2nd period.
U Mass-Lowell beats UMD 4-1
How cool that we have an ASU broadcast on Fox9+ right now. If you haven't been to the Mullet, I highly recommend it!
Huge win for MSU that will certainly help. Wisconsin getting swept by lindenwood would actually be extremely big for them if they’re trying to play back into the pwr at seasons end with where they’re picked to be in the B10. Early season woes are nothing to Scoff at
Wild draft pick Charlie Stramel (former Badger) scored two goals in the Michigan State 4-3 win over BC. Isaac Howard (former UMD Bulldog) assisted on both goals.
Wisconsin won 3-2 on a three on three goal with 18 seconds left in OT.
Former Gopher Owen B. stopped 42 of 45 shots after stopping 34 of 36 shots last night.
Michigan was up 3-1 at Arizona State late in the 3rd period but the Sun Devils scored twice in the last minute of regulation. Game ends 3-3.
Arizona State avoids getting swept at home but Michigan does win the series with the win last night.
ASU won the shootout too! Cullen Potter with an assist, the game tying goal & SO winning goal! 🤠Michigan was up 3-1 at Arizona State late in the 3rd period but the Sun Devils scored twice in the last minute of regulation. Game ends 3-3.
Arizona State avoids getting swept at home but Michigan does win the series with the win last night.
Shoot outs in non conference games/non in season tournaments have no meaning but the Arizona State home fans do get to go home happy and the Wolverine players get to fly back to Michigan thinking about blowing the two goal lead in the last minute.
Two goal lead....just saying.Shoot outs in non conference games/non in season tournaments have no meaning but the Arizona State home fans do get to go home happy and the Wolverine players get to fly back to Michigan thinking about blowing the two goal lead in the last minute.

@collegehockeyaddict Don’t kid yourself, even if it doesn’t technically count in the standings, winning (or losing) a SO matters to the players on the ice tool
Yeah the sting of that SO loss will hang over them all the way to the airport.
Just because the Gophers are AWFUL in SO doesn’t mean they don’t matter to the players…Richard!Yeah the sting of that SO loss will hang over them all the way to the airport.

What a clown you are
Lots of wonky scores and upsets early in the season when teams are getting into their systems. Not surprising.
At home U Mass scores a little over a minute into the game but then Scared Heart scores four straight goals to take a 4-1 lead. U Mass scores two late goals but loses 4-3. This is a loss that could be really costly at the end of the season.
Ohio State goes to Madison and beats Wisconsin 2-1 in OT.
Omaha beats the Gophers last week and then goes out and loses to Augustana tonight. Crazy
The goalie must have gotten a horseshoe-ectomy.Omaha beats the Gophers last week and then goes out and loses to Augustana tonight. Crazy
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
Cole Eiserman 4 goals in 3 games so far. Dam!
