When I look at the portal page the topics listed are old 1-2 years, the posts on the right side are current

Not sure how the bell notification works - I had three “notifications” of a reply - none were to my posted and one was the same reply twice.
also can we get the auto scroll to the end of the page??? I keep having to scroll to the end to get to a current post.
The bell notifications stick around until you clear them. Is it possibly taking you to the first unread post, or you didn't clear the notification, so it's skipping the actual reply?
For the auto scroll, that seems to be working, but only after you've been into a particular thread already

Was it because someone liked your post? I had the same thing happen to me. I clicked it and took me to another post, and I circled back to my post in that thread and noticed someone liked it.

Not sure as I can’t go back and look at the notifications once gone. I don’t think so tho, as two linked to gators post in the simple pleasures thread - which I didn’t post in last night, nor was he replying to me. I think the third was Davescharf’s subsequent post but I’m not sure. I dunno. I’m sure things will sort themselves out over time! But I’m old and it’s getting harder to teach an old dog new tricks as easily. ?

Click on the bell to drop down the list of notifications, bottom right of the drop-down "Clear All"
I think I may have an idea - I get notifications any time someone posts in the simple pleasures thread - I notice I am listed as the creator of that thread could that be why I’m getting all the notifications regardless of them not being a reply to a post of mine? @Jupiter?
Oh… This is version 2 of the wpForo software and it was released just 3 weeks ago and they are still working out the kinks themselves. But I thought this software is way better than bbPress that the folks from WordPress themselves created.

After not being able to block ads on the FORUM since the move to WordPress, I now have it running for those the are Golden. So those of you should not see ads on the Forum ONLY. From "20-Niner" to "Zwak". All 226 of you over the last 19 years. Though many are no longer participating, if they ever come back they will still be Golden.

They are back with the new software, but it will not work if you upload them to the system. They must live on the internet somewhere. You can see that I put my avatar on the GPL server and you can link to anywhere on the internet. OR if you do not have that, I can upload it to the GPL server if you want and then send you a link so you can set it up.

Maybe it would be confusing, or maybe it is just a bad idea from me, but any thoughts about naming the levels after former Gopher greats? Mayasich would be the top one, then maybe the Hobey winners, Broten, Stauber, Bonin, Leopold. Could also use Brooks, Woog, Micheletti etc. Just my 2 cents or less worth.

This was not quite working the way we wanted to if the topic had more than one page. It would load page one, THEN forward to whatever page had the first unread. But... I reached out to the wpForo board and they gave me a small snippet of code that I could add that skips the page one part and will go to the first unread right away.
So this feature is BACK!!!

I was looking through threads on the message board 'home page' and drilled into the various category areas (other sports, general discussion, Gopher Men's Hockey, etc.) to see if there were any threads I missed on the Portal page. I know threads show "new" if I haven't viewed but from the old boards I always liked seeing how long ago the last post was submitted.

As of right now, no there is not. The portal page bit is a Widget from the software creator, so my hands are a bit tied with messing with it. Right now only the recent Posts area shows that.
