Guessing it might be website ads you can’t control, they just took it up a notch.
I have experienced some slower loading of pages, since the dark move. I see a spinning wheel on the portal page on my chrome tab at the top of the page and then it will time out. Not a huge deal, but occasionally cumbersome. Once I switched back to the normal light mode it went away.

That is part of the desktop side panel and not actually part of the message board. They have always been there, except for Dec. 1 - 8th or so when they were offline.

There have been ads for some time but they are much larger in size now and most of them are now videos which is new. 🤷♀️
Not sure what that is since I have not seen it, but my best guess is that recently my host has turned on the CDN. This is where is hosts content of the site all over the place to keep it fast. Recently they set it so I cannot turn it off. I never had it turned on in the past. It just says ENABLED and doesn't give a way to turn it off like I had previously.

My host says they are unable to turn off the CDN and refuse fix the issues that you guys are having they they caused. May have to look for a new host yet again.

I was only getting this on my iPhone until this weekend. And now it pops up on both my personal and work computer. Same issues, just hit refresh and everything seems fine.
I just changed the automatic generated avatars because I was sick of the old ones. But you all have the ability to use a custom avatar. Go up top and go to the User Menu. Select Edit Account. Scroll down a bit and upload an avatar.
Preferably a square image works best. 100x100px should be the minimum size. But don't go bigger than 500x500px.
So if you have those automatic/generic avatars... Let's get on it! Give yourself an avatar!

I have changed the "Recent Forum Activity" area on the Portal page.
I needed to do this to clean things up, but also because if you are a logged in user the screen always jumped down to that section due to backend coding I could not change. It only does this when you are logged in and has done it for years. But I finally got sick of it.
It will take some time to get used too. The avatar is now the most recent post user vs the thread creator. It only how the most recent post text. It doesn't show who is the thread creator.
Like I said, more simplified.
