GPL Podcast & Live Broadcasts

Shameless plug....

But I highly recommend watching the GPL Podcast on YouTube when we are live. Tonight you would have had an hour and 20 minutes of overtime with our guest Paul Caponigri. That was after the regular podcast that was an hour by itself.

Sometimes OT is just a few minutes. But other times we go for a while and none of it is on the actual podcast.

So check it out sometime!

No disrespect to any of the other guests but this was one of my favorite OTs. Good hockey talk with a lot of cool ideas tossed around about conference realignment, tournament format, etc. Cappy said he was a night person and then stayed up and talked for another hour lol. Fun to listen to someone who clearly loves the game of college hockey, and hockey in general, that much. Great guest and great episode!

The Overtime ran longer than the main event. Absolutely loved it.

Agreed. Great talk about Frozen Four sites.

Is it available to watch the OT via YT? I can't listen live because I typically sleep 5 p.m. to midnight your time M - F.

There was some sort of problem with chat on the stream for a while... haven't seen that before and not have a refresh fix it.

Yeah.... It was weird. I noticed no one was chatting. Once I chatted something, it started to work. Very strange.

Yeah I couldn’t figure it out so thanks for posting it, although by the time I got home from work it was probably half over so this way I can listen to the whole shebang. Is overtime going to be on there for a few days?

That is definitely weird, Jup... I've gotten the same error on chats before, but just doing a refresh on my browser would fix it, usually by triggering a fresh logon to my account. Tried multiple computers and everything last night with no change, right up til you said something... never seen that on YT stream chats before.

I will try to remember to chat once I go live next time, just incase.

I like to tease Jup publicly and privately but want to give credit where credit is due. He and Vegoe do a great job with the podcast. We are lucky to have hosts that have such great connections to the other programs. It's always interesting to hear from the other side.

Absolutely, Zwak. I just wish I'd been dropping into the recording sessions longer. The podcasts have always been great, but overtime is even better.

We are going to have John King on the podcast this week. He's the guy behind the Hockey Hair videos from the State Tournament as well as the Bevvy with Bob videos the U did last year among a bunch of other things he is involved in.

Oh, this is a great get. His podcasts are outstanding. The Hockey Parent Hall of Fame video is outrageous!

Holy cow... I was NOT SOBER after drinking an entire bottle of wine on an empty stomach during overtime of the podcast tonight.

Before last night, I really did not know much about John King other than he is the hockey hair guy and did those videos with tBob last year. What a great guest. He is just as obsessed with the Gophers as we are. Another great episode and epic overtime. I have a feeling one of these may go until 3am some day.

And yeah, a full bottle of wine on an empty stomach is definitely a good way to get very not-sober

On his latest podcast he mentioned a follow-up project to "hockey parent hall of fame" video. I believe he said the title was "the real housewives of holiday cards".......that oughta be fun.

I think it's a safe bet that Jup is a little bit bigger than you to absorb a bit more alcohol into his system.

Another record setting Podcast and OOOOOOOOOOVER Time last night. Great stories on wide arranging topics, and I think Cappy wanted to keep going and tell stories for another 2 hours. I thought [mention]Vegoe[/mention] was going to get beer #3. I think the kiss of death is when OT started you guys said this wasn't going to go that long tonight.

Which is why you need to start the recording earlier. Kick off at 7 and you can get 4 hours of overtime in.
