GPL Podcast & Live Broadcasts

I'll test it again when I get home to be sure. I'm on v45.7 at work. When I put in: www.gopherpucklive.com/podcast, it redirects me to /forum/index.php

Just tested on another computer running 51.0.1, and it works fine there. Thinking something may just be stuck on my main system.

Hey Jup, for whatever reason with the most recent podcast I play it and it just stops midway. It seems like it's only buffering to a certain point and then it hits that point, stops, and restarts. Seems to have the same issue on Sticher too. I'm guessing it's not the podcast itself but moreso whatever site is hosting it. Is there a downloadable version somewhere?

That's where I usually listen to it and had the problem. I tried switching to Sticher and that didn't help.

I'll try at home/phone and see if it works but basically it buffers to about the 6 minute mark and doesn't get any further (I can take a screenshot when I get home too).

It's just to get people to understand how Wendy's keeps messing up Gorag's name. I'm hopeful I've solved the issue going forward. If not, we're going to the ATT cell network.

Yeah... His current provider has a very sow upstream bandwidth. Hoping a new provider will do better. Need to take advantage of his new microphone!

CenturyLink is basically unusable, kinda glad they're getting sued.

If you want to upload then yes. We never had download issues with them

Depends what tier you have but even at the highest I’d have issues playing video games online or streaming.

I used to be able to run the podcast on Century Link... But we had decent speeds back then. I's never do it today. I am on Mediacom and have 20Mbps upload.

9pm on Wednesday nights.... You can listen live on the Portal or Podcast page.

Yeah, CenturyLink was garbage. The most they could give us was 10 megs down, which was actually like 6 or 7. We could barely stream video. Netflix was fine, but live stuff like YouTube TV was bad. Switched to Xfinity and it's full HD, no framerate or quality drops.

Can one of you do me a favor? Can you check out the new Google Podcast app and let me know if it works well with the GPL Podcast? Since I am in an iPhone, I just have no way of checking it out.

The GPL Podcast has been listed in the Google Play Music store for a few years, so you should have no problems finding the podcast. But I just have no idea.

Didn't listen to the whole thing, but it certainly seems to work nicely. Searched for "Gopher Puck Live" and there you were. Sounds good and clear.

Yeah... I have no control over their website. They SHOULD just pick up the rss feed. It would automatically update that info when it changes.

I know you don’t. I just thought it was funny a link trying to advertise more college hockey podcasts and they get part of it wrong. At least the link works.

Better luck next decade when they update it... was a good run.

I wouldn’t have found that site if their Twitter didn’t send out a link today telling people to listen to these great podcasts.

It appears that the iOS Podcast app and in iTunes itself is not refreshing the GPL Podcast. Not sure what is going on, the RSS feed is just fine.

The strange this is when you search for the GPL Podcast on the iOS app or in iTunes, all of the most recent shows are there. So I have no idea what is going on here. But you can always listen to the show on GPL if you need to.

Could be some sort of glitch... I have requested a feed refresh via the main control panel at iTunes for the Podcast. We'll see.

iPhone Podcast fix...

If the recent Podcasts are not loading for you on your iPhone. Unsubscribe to the GPLPodcast and remove it completely. Then search for it and re-subscribe to it. For some reason that fixed it for me on my iPhone.

Sounds like along with improvements skill wise that they'll have some more grit than we've been used to seeing under tDon.

The grit thing couldn't have gotten worse lol.

I still think next year could be a team the legitimately has a shot to contend for a title. Assuming people that should stay, stay. Walker, Brinkman, and Johnson.

I added some new tracking to the Podcast audio file URL... I have noticed that the link will not load at work. I think it is due to security on our network. But I want to see if it works for all of you. Does it work on your phone? Home computer? How about at work? I just want to see if it is more of a problem than just my work network.

Working here on home computer.

I think it is just our work network.... but I just wanted others to try at work to verify. Maybe other have similar security problems at work.

Works on my phone (iPhone), I can try later when I get to work.

I am pretty sure it is just the network AT work. But the old tracking used to work on my work network. Now it just spins until I eventually get this error.

The thing is.... If it is ONLY happening on my work network... I will just let it go. If there are problems elsewhere, then I need to make adjustments. Though it does work fine on the podcast websites and apps. So I am good there.

Though I am having issues with Spotify. That feed is not updating like it should. So I had to reach out to their support.
