Rumors on Twitter are that this was a while in the making.
I've also heard/seen rumors that he was having an affair with his assistant.

Did I mix up reading the Wolves thread with my wife discussing her favorite soap opera?

Gupta is pretty highly regarded, isn't he?

The HillRat guy also tweeted out that multiple teams had contacted the Wolves trying to interview Gupta for open positions that would (likely) have been a higher profile position than his previous role here, and Rosas told them no without consulting Gupta at all.

I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
Wolves beat Philly in double OT to go to 10-10 on the season.
Anthony Edwards got the block on the game winning shot attempt by all-world C Joel Embiid.
Listening to the Power Trip Morning Show and they were talking about Wolves hosting the Lakers tonight and the game got flexed to 9pm so ESPN can have the game live following the Warriors/Celtics game a 6:30.
Keep your stick on the ice...
This Steph guy seems to believe in his shooting ability.

The all star game is team Labron cs Team Durrant?
If I liked basketball I’d still think that is fucking ridiculous.

Well, let's not get carried away. I mean, he's no Ricky Rubio or Jonny Flynn.

They did away with the East v West a few years ago. Now they have two captains. The all-star starters are voted in and then the two captains pick the remaining players, IIRC.
Also lost in the shuffle: Karl Anthony Towns won the NBA 3-point contest this year. A buddy of mine bet $100 on him at +1200 odds to win. He was pretty happy Saturday night.
I knew I wasn't a huge follower of the NBA (my interest started to wane once Jordan was in WAS and was pretty much limited to seasons in which the Wolves did anything which has been few and far between) but it was even less than I thought. I had no idea the NBA adopted their "play-in" format for teams finishing 7-10. Whoever came up with that idea should be forced to move to Grand Forks for eternity.

It’s all about money, NFL and MLB did it too. Adds playoff games and keeps more teams in contention later in the year.

It was initially adopted during the shortened COVID year (in the bubble). They used it against last season in a shortened season as well - they played 72 games instead of 82.
This will be their first full season using it.
I'm not sure why they kept it this season for any other reason than money. It's unpopular with the players and even some owners have railed against it.
It does make for some interesting games down the stretch but overall seems a bit odd, IMO.

The NFLs version for whatever reason annoys me less than the NBA and MLB versions.

The NFL is always gonna be your season coming down to 1 game. NBA and MLB play a series to determine a winner except for these “play-in” games

The play-in game "tournament" isn't a true one-and-done except for the loser of the 9v10 game which in years past wouldn't have been in the playoffs at all.
The 7 seed plays the 8 seed. The winner of that moves on as the #7 seed and plays the #2 seed. The loser of the 7v8 game would play the winner of the 9v10 in a win-or-go-home game. So if you were "in" the playoffs in the old format you have to basically just win one game out of 2 (so it is essentially a double elimination). Still dumb, IMO. But it's not like a "win or go home" immediately if you're one of the teams in the 7 or 8 spot.

Why would the Russian police waste their time framing a WNBA player with little name recognition in the US?

Do I trust anything the Russian police say? No.
Do I trust professional athletes to not travel with something like cannabis vape juice? Also no.
I have no idea who/what to believe in this situation.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?

Actually I believe they would. That she is gay is just a plus from their viewpoint, in my opinion
6 wins in a row, which is the longest streak since 03-04. Bandwagon is warming up.
After their 4-9 start this season, the Wolves are 34-20. That record in that span is like 7th best in the NBA. The team chemistry is at an all-time high and seems to get better every game.
They won 4 consecutive games while Anthony Edwards was out with injury.
Beasley has figured out how to shoot again and DLo has certainly made the impact the Wolves were hoping he would when they made the trade for him.
That, and the fact that KAT is playing at a near-MVP level the last couple weeks an this team has been very fun to watch.
If they can find a way to get into the 6 seed (2 games behind Denver for 6th, 2.5 games behind Dallas for 5th) they could definitely be able to win a series (though currently Golden State is the 3 seed and that would be tough).
KAT has 56 points through 3 quarters against San Antonio right now.

Finished with 60. 19-31 from the field (7-11 on 3PT) and 15-16 from the line. Also had 17 rebounds. Wolves are now 40-30. The last time they were at least 10 games above .500 was the 2017-2018 season, when they finished 47-35. Four years.

His 3rd quarter performance was Jordan/LeBron territory,

So the NBA uses the good refs for the playoffs?

If the Wolves win one game out of two I don't think it can qualify for my "times advanced in playoffs last 15 years statistics"
