Does a $100k fine even mean anything to an NHL organization?

Unfortunately it is like any fine to a sports team or player. For the average person it would hurt, but for them it is peanuts.

44 years ago today

The Flyers went undefeated for a North American professional sports record 35-straight games (25–0–10), before losing 7–1 to the Minnesota North Stars, a record that still stands to this day. The streak started after the team was 1–1 on October 14, and ended on January 7, 1980.

Aloha!

"And the police led him away"
Sounds like the proper action.

Man, I am a hockey freak. I really, really like it. I would love to have a puck from the game. But that just isn't how you do that sort of thing. Get the puck, take a pic, and give it to the kid who is going to show everyone he knows. And that is if YOU catch it. Sounds like the kid did the work to get it. Crazy work. And then doubling and tripling down is wild.

Bad enough that he stole the puck from the kid.  But why on earth would you then go and get upset when someone else goes and does something for the kid?  That's just absurd.

I'm 50/50 on giving it to a kid. I caught a puck at a Gopher game. Sitting on the glass behind the goal. The puck was shot, hit the netting and landed between my feet. I picked it up and pocketed it to take home and display. The adult next to was on his hands and knees crawling around and I told him I already had it. If the fan (adult) keeps it or gives it away I don't care. Maybe he has kids at home or whatever. To each their own. Though you can watch youtube or tiktok and see videos all the time were grown adults wrestle pucks or baseballs aways from kids. Or a player points out a kid to toss the puck or baseball and another fans grabs it out of midair.

The kid's mom was giving the guy the business, that one other guy stepped in and carefully stood in the way giving Bozo the clown a good talking to as well, but staying away physically (properly so).

But yes, the other fans in the area were NOT happy with that guy.

I posted the story on Reddit, and got some more feedback.  Apparently when the kid shook it loose from the net, it landed in Bozo's lap, so, I can almost see him keeping it at that point.  Still a dick move, but, not really as bad.

I just can't understand why he came over to berate the kid/mom after the wife brought the kid a puck, though.

Just as dinkweed started to walk up the stairs and after verbally going after mom, guy in vest gave him the eyes that triple dog  dared dinkweed to make a move.  Would have enjoyed seeing that. 😉

Good on him for stepping in to separate them and stop any further escalation, but still make it clear that stuff wouldn't end well if Bozo kept pushing.

My guess is his age had something to do with that.
