Yep, this was the only decision that had any impact on the game.

Never said that, but it did have a major impact on the game. Try again.

There were a lot of decisions that had a major impact on that game. That’s why that whole narrative is hilarious because if the Chiefs score a TD there or Mahomes doesn’t smoke a massive amount of concentrated THC at half they win easily.

That's an excellent point. They mismanaged that, too. Honestly, Mahomes almost ran the clock down at the end of the game with his escape-artist shenanigans. It was a huge break he got sacked. That alone preserved the last 3 seconds he would have run off the clock.

Pay no mind to the (thankfully few) insincere jackasses around here.

If Mahomes just throws the ball in the end zone there they get a TD or a FG. There should have been no routes on that play run anywhere except in the end zone.

Mahomes put himself atop a lofty perch with his play in the first half. In the second, he fell right on his head.

And that’s why a certain insincere jackass who doesn’t just gobble up everything the media tells him isn’t solely focused on one decision. If Mahomes doesn’t play like Ryan Leaf for a half nobody would even mention it.

I mean I’d be fine just arguing about the logic of a decision made in an NFL game but someone felt the need to start with the personal attacks ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The way Mahomes was rolling that first half it makes perfect sense to go for it and put the game out of reach. I don’t think most people would’ve predicted that he’d play a second half reminiscent of last years super bowl. Only comparison I can think of would be some of Favre’s performances later in his career.

Of course it made sense to go for it. There was 5 seconds left for one more quick throw into the end zone. The mistake was running a longer burning play to a player outside the end zone. Really dumb when you have an easy 3 to pad the lead.

Mahomes almost cost his team a chance to tie it in regulation as well. He got sacked with 3 seconds left on the clock. One more little juke before the sack and the game is over. I mean, he ran around like there was a minute left in the game.

Why the hell do coaches burn timeouts to save 5 yards. It's 1st down, take the 5 yard penalty and preserve the timeout

An eternal question of mine. Especially in the 2nd half.

Especially when you’re down by 10. They got 20 yards on the next play.

Plus you may put yourself in a situation where you can’t challenge.

Is that Jimmy G last play as a 49ers? Do the 49ers let him go in the offseason and have Trey Lance begin next season as the starter?

I got serious Vikings vibes with Cousins on the last few drives for the 49ers. Pure panic with no idea what to do.

The Cleveland Browns paying OBJ while he is helping the Rams get to the Super Bowl and they lose 5 of 7 games after releasing him to miss the playoffs.

For the second half of this season the Rams paid OBJ the pro rated veteran minimum while the Browns paid the rest of contract salary.
