Florida State is playing with out their top 2 QBs, top 3 WRs, top 2 RBs, and 5 of their 7 starters at DL & LB.
Georgia's starters are playing other then their top TE.
NCAA football is a mess. Opt outs, portal, NIL. It's terrible for the fans.
When your team has a half dozen or more of its best players opting out, why bother going to the game? There's no reason for fans to show loyalty.
With the playoff expanding to 12 teams next season there will be a lot more teams whose players will likely not opt out.

Maybe
If you are a top draft pick, say 1 or 2 round? Forget the bowl game. They know your potential/talent, not worth it to you. You get hurt? Bye. You're done.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
Right but we knew they’d be without the QBs before this game even happened, not sure about the others.
We knew they'd be without Travis. I doubt Rodemaker hits the transfer portal if they are in CFP.
It doesn’t seem possible that the #17 team can have an offense this bad
So sad Iowa can’t score with a pathetic offense. Glad the big ten gets $ for the bowl game, no love for this Iowa team. They are getting what they deserve.
Weak attendance at the LSU Wisconsin game. What’s wrong Wisconsin?
It seems not unlikely that the big ten bowl season will be:
wins: Minnesota, Rutgers, Northwestern, Maryland
losses: Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State, Iowa, Michigan (tbd)
To paraphrase Slap Shot on Twitter:
Yay! MI won!
Crap. MI won.

It sure wasn't due to Michigan's special teams. They were horrible.
I’m glad bama lost.
I will leave it there.
Good to see liberty get exposed as a fraud, that game should have had a better matchup.
The Iowa game was basically over once they gave up a TD.
Watching skunks lose never gets old.

Good for Michigan. Now I hope they get whooped in the championship game.

That Iowa game, when they were at the 7, or 10, etc early in the game, I jokingly said to my buddy: Yeah, like they're gonna score a TD here.
Next play was an INT. lol

Lot is mistakes all around in that Bama Michigan game but I’ll take that over some of the blowouts we’ve seen in previous seasons. Hopefully Michigan loses in the final.
the u-mi coach playing the victim card after the game was priceless. 💩🚽

Michigan-Alabama was exactly what I expected it to be. A physical slugfest that was tightly contested and very entertaining.
Washington-Texas so far has been very entertaining for opposite reasons.
It's really:No ambivalence here. I'm glad Michigan knocked out Bama.To paraphrase Slap Shot on Twitter:
Yay! MI won!
Crap. MI won.
Crap, MI Won
however:
YAY!!!! Bama lost. (Bama losing is WAY more positive than Michigan winning is negative)
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
But....'Bama? Really?

Iowa was shutout in their last 2 games… lol!!!
Keep your stick on the ice...
Cesspools > Michigan > Iowa > wisconSIN > Alabama >>> Notre Shame…
Keep your stick on the ice...
Washington starting to roll it seems. Owning possession.
Was that a butt fumble!
Was that a butt fumble!
Sure was. Great hold by the Texas defense to keep the game in reach. Could be in for a great finish after Adonai Mitchell makes a great grab to cut it to 34-28.
I thought Mitchell jumped to soon, but had some serious hang time to grab it.

UM up 9 with 2:40… Looking like a all BIG Championship… 😉
Keep your stick on the ice...
Great finish. Go Huskies!!
What is it with purple teams and clock management?
Geesh.

Current Big Ten and about to be Big Ten goes 2-0 in the playoffs against current SEC and soon to be SEC
January 8, 2024 Washington and Michigan play for the National Championship.
In the fall of 2024 they play a Big Ten conference game at Washington.
In the fall of 2025 they play a Big Ten conference game at Michigan.
The Washington/Michigan Big Ten rivalry has begun.
The Gophers play at Washington in 2026 and Washington at home in 2027.
Michael Penix Jr is playing really well in purple. Does the NFL draft in a few months result in him continuing to wear purple? 🤔

That last set by Texas was awful. Of the two throws that actually made it to the end zone, one wasn't catchable and the other just barely.
Not super impressed with Texas on that red zone performance with NC hopes on the line.
What is it with purple teams and clock management?
Geesh.
In my opinion a player getting hurt shouldn't cause Washington to not be able to run the 40 seconds off the clock between 3rd down and 4th down. Yes that is the rule but IMO it is a reallllllllllllllyyyyyyyy bad rule that definitely affected the last minute of the game and almost who won.
Michigan opens -4.5 vs. Washington.

I am going to go out on a limb and predict that the National Championship this year will be a closer game than last year.
Iowa....fart noise. Even when it seemed like half of Tennessee's defense opted out of the game Iowa still couldn't even muster anything resembling a competent offense. Even worse is that the top 10 defense looked like horse bleep. SEC..blah blah blah, I get it that Tennessee plays a different schedule than B1G teams but FFS Iowa held Michigan to 26 points in the conference championship!
Good riddance to Brian Ferentz but as every Iowa sportswriter has penned this week...will Kirk get out of the way enough to let the new OC actually put their mark on the WORST offense in college football for three years running. I have NO idea what to expect from Iowa football next season.
I am the official Iowa Hawkeye football fan of GPL!
I am going to go out on a limb and say 'Bama isn't exactly clean, either. 😉
However, this is one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't...

@dxmnkd316 in this case yes. Michigan winning benefits Minnesota more than Alabama.
Edited: Damn phone
Paul Finebaum went to bed crying in his Nick Saban pajamas.
How? Big ten revenue?@dxmnkd316 in this case yes. Michigan winning benefits Minnesota sure to the Big Ten.
@trixr4kids Yes, in terms of both money from the Big Ten conference and probably also to some extent in recruiting. The more the Big Ten makes the more Minnesota makes. In terms of conference 'prestige' you could argue that revenue and recruits follow the hot conference. You could argue how much this helps recruiting but I would imagine any recruit that wasn't offered by a helmet school might choose a second tier Big Ten school over say a ACC or Big 12 school. [not saying this is a huge affect, but it would be net positive to win over the SEC]
Yeah the recruiting angle I don’t buy as much but the money part makes sense. I can’t cheer for Michigan because of a guy I knew who was the most obnoxious human being ever and seeing his (Detroit/michigan) teams lose is a favorite pastime but that’d be a silver lining.
I'm glad to see this all Northern final. Seems like over the years College Football has practically become a regional sport with the Deep South so dominate.

Varsity Blues was more true than it was not. God, Family, Football. And not necessarily in that order.

The line has moved from -4.5 to -5 for Michigan. I see Michigan winning tonight by 10 plus points.
