Generally the committee puts the automatic qualifiers from the mid-majors in the 12-16 seeds with the 12 being the best of the bunch. Most of the time the 12 seed should have received an at large bid and been a higher seed. It’s no shock then that they’re able to beat 5 seeds regularly. They’re usually good, but not great power conference teams.
- NCAA really needs to reevaluate this going to the monitor. Some of these games are being drawn out for little things.
Agreed. The flow of the games have been rough. Especially since there aren’t challenges like the NBA. Not much can be overturned.
I’d rather have them get the call right. This is the new normal.
They need to give coaches 2 challenges for the game. And they get 1 for OT. None of them carry over. As for the officiating reviews. I think they try to hard to look to see if it’s a common foul or a flagrant. For how hard they try to make common fouls flagrant now days. I’ve would’ve gotten the boot a few games. The game is soft compared to 30 years ago.
I am cheering against whatever school "the screamer" is rooting for.

Im pretty sure she’s cheering for GCU. Nothing worse than a group of grade school/jr. high girls screaming. It makes nails on a chalkboard sound heavenly.
Those back-to-back long rebounds was the big game changer in the last couple of minutes.
I’m glad they moved players up on the blocks for free throws. When I played any kind of long rebound gave advantage to the shooting team. Now the the defense has some advantage.

UConn got absolutely fucked there. Shocking that would happen given there’s absolutely no incentive to have Clark advance
I don’t even understand how you look at that and see anything. She wasn’t moving and didn’t stick out her elbow to create contact.
And if I was a conspiracy theorist I would definitely think that call was made to get Iowa into the Final…you think the NCAA and ESPN don’t want Clark in the championship game? Ratings bonanza
That said, it would be shocking if Iowa could beat South Carolina, they are a juggernaut.
I know very little about basketball, and haven’t watched it in earnest in probably a decade. This matchup got me interested enough to poke my head in near the end when I saw it was close.
I’m a little glad that I’m seeing the reactions I am. All I could think after seeing that last minute was “People like this? For games to end this way?”
Even though I am still sure the sport isn’t for me, it helps knowing I witnessed a particularly egregious officiating display.
