Oliver surprises me, but I guess this is how it works now. Gotta get used to it.
Pinstripe bowl is a ?. People want a bowl game somewhere warm.
Football staff getting some extensions. Lately coordinators seem to be getting two year deals, so I think the fact that these are three years is significant. Also interesting that Rossi doesn't have any mitigation things tied to his buyout, while Ciarrocca has a bunch of language in there for different scenarios where he leaves or Fleck leaves.

WR TJ McWilliams from Indy also flipped from Purdue to the Gophers.

Army All-American Bowl player here too. Pretty nice flip.
If nothing else it sounds like they will have a lot of options in the WR room
I gotta think at least 2 current WR are leaving after the bowl.
Early signing day has completed.
Gophers ink 33 commits. 16 offensive, 15 defensive, 2 special teams.
Minnesota signed two quarterbacks, two running backs, two tight ends, five offensive linemen and five wide receivers. On defense, the Gophers added four defensive linemen, five linebackers and six defensive backs. 11 of the 33 commitments are from Minnesota high schools.

Could it be Arch Manning flipping from Texas to the Gophers? ? Manning back to Minnesota? Actually my guess is it's Arch to Georgia.

Pretty sure I saw Arch signed his NLI so I don't think he can anymore.
Ohio State has been over taken by the Gophers. ? ? ?
and:
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?

I see in the Pioneer Press review of the bowl game they talked Kaliakmanis playing and didn't mention Morgan. Is that due to Morgan injury, Kaliakmanis giving them a better chance to win (over taking Morgan), prep for future…. While Morgan may have limitations I think he is the all time winning QB at MN, has played with guts and one could argue "deserves" it (not interested in a debate about whether one "deserves" means….. )
More less why? It's time to move on from Morgan and give more reps to Kaliakmanis. Same goes for Mo. Once he breaks the all time rushing record, he'll be shut down for the game.
Keep your stick on the ice...
I would not have objected to Morgan taking the first drive, but overall Kaliakmanis should get the majority of the snaps.
I think Morgan doesn't want to risk a third concussion and there is no real reason for him to play anyways. If it was a better bowl game sure but no one will remember this game in 5 years so let Athan play. If Morgan dresses let him take the final snaps so the fans can send him off in style.
Honestly, if Mo wasn't going after some records I would rather he didn't play either. I think games like this should be for the players next year more than saying goodbye to the seniors. (unless it was some sort of long term rebuild or a something extra special)

I'm hoping we see more of Zach Evans tomorrow. I think that kid could be a special RB here.
John Michael Schmitz is not playing. I suspect Ibrahim will still be able to run the ball just fine.
Bad snap forces the Gophers to punt so I guess we're missing Schmitz already.

Bad snap because the nose tackle was shoving Boe back before the ball even got off the ground, somehow none of the officials thought that was against the rules.
This turf looks freaking terrible.
Mo Ibrahim is officially the single season rushing yards record holder for Minnesota.
Touchdown Mo! Ran through 2 Syracuse defenders and breaks the plane to give the Gophers a lead.
Kaliakmanis hurt on a play where it looks like his foot got stuck in this garbage turf.
Cannot make it up... Athan hurt in a meaningless game.
Morgan with a great throw and Daniel Jackson with a phenomenal catch for a touchdown. Play is under review but I'm not sure they have any way to overturn this.
Very questionable catch call stands because the baseball field doesn't have any cameras on that side of the field to show the ball bobbling around when he rolled over. Couple plays later Syracuse has it on the 2 yard line (assuming the referees don't botch this review and call it a TD).
Gophers leading 14-7 at halftime. Syracuse gets the ball after half.
83 yards in 47 seconds...
What is, "How not to end a half."
Yeah not ideal but it’s the last game for a lot of their guys too so I expect them to make some plays. Better team will win in the second half and that’ll probably be the gophers so I’m not worried.
Sucks that Kaliakmanis is hurt but cool that Morgan gets to play in his last game.
If not for the facemask, that would have been a 55-yard try.
Not the way ro end the half...not the way to begin the half. Defense needs to hold the lead here.
Not impressed with a dropped ball, a 2 yard run and a throw to the guy who's double covered four yards from the sticks. Woof.
COLEMAN BRYSON!! PICK 6!!
Attaboy

IDK what it is about the Gopher WRs but it seems like they catch everything when Kaliakmanis hits them but drop 80% of the easy catches when Morgan throws it to them.
Gophers giving up Vikingsesque real estate on defense.
