Speaking of names from the Players to Watch list, Teddy Townsend is a great name. Very Eden Prairie and sounds like his dad works in finance. If he were to play here I’m sure it would fit right in with the “cake eater” image our rivals have of us

Is Sawchyn for sure going the college route? I believe his family moved here from Edmonton, if memory serves.

He was the 1st overall pick in the WHL US draft and had his rights traded this year

Our number one target in high school this year should be Danny Nelson of Maple Grove. The kid is just straight up good at hockey no other way to put it.

Feel like he will head to South Bend but no doubt we should have heavy interest in him

Another outstate MN kid from Sherburn, which is along I90 between Jackson and Fairmont

HERE is an interesting article if you’re curious about the kid’s background. Played a couple of years at Fairmont H.S. before giving the Michigan midget hockey path a try.

Another small town goalie from outstate Mn, Hobie Hedquist, is from Heron Lake, which is near Worthington is committed to the Whioux. Good to see smaller towns in southern Mn developing players. Can add Brody Lamb to the outstate players as well.

Good to see another kid from close to my hometown doing well. It’s just too bad he’s committed to North Dakota But in all seriousness, regardless of who it’s for, it’s fun to see guys from that area of the state play, or at least commit to play, division 1 hockey. As big as hockey is down there in fandom, it’s no secret that southwest Minnesota isn’t very strong when it comes to their high school teams and the amount of players that go to a high level. Growing up I don’t think I really saw anyone go D1. It’s fun to see that change.

Maybe Bob should try grabbing Logan Cooley off the U-18 roster for the second half. Wouldn’t that be nice.

It’s part of all YHH tournaments. If you’re a youth hockey social media company you might as well make the tourneys fun by posting photos of kids who have good games.

They also have a computerized ranking for each level based on scores reported to the site. As it turns out the rankings are fairly accurate. And it’s nice to know what to expect heading into tourney.

Eden Prairie has some of the ugliest unis in youth hockey…and for absolutely no reason.

Chisago Lakes and Greenway still out in front though.

Biggest coup SINCE Kessel. That wouldn't necessarily mean Kessel level. You'd have to biggest coup after him which would be what, Ranta? If you're talking about flipping someone. Many flips could be above Ranta level. Isaac Howard, etc. Some people would put Maddox Fleming above a Ranta level flip.

Basically, could be one of like 25 players.
