CALL THE FK’N ICING. CALL THE GAME CORRECTLY AND CONSISTENTLY OR DON’T TAKE THIS JOB
Yeah in his case that might actually be true, he does seem to ride the refs harder than other coaches I've seen in the B1G.If one barks too much, one often eventually gets ignored. Boy crying "wolf" etc etc
I wonder how much of that is Bob getting numb to the stupidity of B1G refs in ignoring opponents tackling, tripping/etc Gophers, while calling the Gophers for a penalty if an opponent falls down in their general vicinity.I don’t see why mitts gets the gate but apparently Bob doesn’t have a problem with it so never mind.🙄
when he coached at cloud he complained about everything! Sat behind their bench once and he was non stop annoying. He’s totally flipped 180
“Good pace, a lot of north and south, or it could be east and west, I’m not sure but either way…” Wooger
Almost had one pop at the end.

About 110 minutes of good hockey this weekend. That’s better than it’s been. Couple of bounces away from some points. If they play like that the rest of the year, it will at least be good to watch

I don't recall a coach being AS vocal AS often since Gwoz, to be honest.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

last year or two has seen us get some really brutal reffing with zero recourse for Bob. @ Wisconsin fiasco in 2024 where a 3-1 Gopher W got turned into a 1-1 tie as McClellan flopped around nonstop, Notre Dame’s 3x3 OT win at Mariucci last year, UMass debacle another obvious one. I’d get demoralized in his shoes too.
I can’t think of many lucky breaks we’ve gotten from the zebras in the last 4-5 years aside from the McLaughlin/Walker OT circus up in St. Cloud, in 2021 (!) and our B1G playoff series vs. PSU in 2024 had a couple key calls go our way (correctly to be clear)
The fact that they aren’t quitting, to me, means coach stays. Assuming he drastically changes the recruiting strategy.
How far behind Mich st are the Gophers in NIL money spent on men’s hockey? Is this a big factor? Or is this a nothing burger?
Can’t tell you how much I HATE just being happy to keep it close with Michigan State but with that being said I was really impressed with the fight this weekend.
Everyone has a good culture when they’re winning. It’s infinitely harder to keep that culture when the season goes like it has this year.

Scott Sandlin would argue that opinion

The problem is, he cries out about actual wolves, but has always been ignored anyway. If one barks too much, one often eventually gets ignored. Boy crying "wolf" etc etc

These players are professionals. They are looking for NIL money and professional contracts. Any player that would quit is a fool. They aren't trying for Bob. They are trying for their own good.
I'd put Polymarket at 95% that Bob departs.
In relative terms, this team has a significant talent deficit as compared to the past four seasons, and as compared to Michigan, Michigan State, or Penn State. Maybe we’re on par with Wisconsin
The real problem is that even when we had a talented roster, Bob continually underperformed, consistently losing to teams with far less talent. Given that, it’s not surprising at all that this group gets swept by teams with superior rosters.

doesn’t matter because you’ll never get straight answers on anything NIL-related. Just smoke and rumors. All the schools want recruits to think piles of cash are being thrown around, the recruits want to inflate their own market value, and the media wants to drive outrage and clickbait.
last year people kept throwing around “Matthew Wood got a $100k NIL deal to play for Minnesota!” Now we’re supposed to believe that Gavin McKenna, an unproven commodity, is somehow worth 7x the value of a proven first round pick and elite NCAA scorer in Matthew Wood?

Very well stated!
