What do players like Knies and Faber do about school when they leave early? They’re in the middle of the semester. Do they finish the semester remote or will they have to retake classes if they ever want to get their degree?
Withdraw I'm sure then start back if/when...
Have Cooley do their homework ?

@boninthebear Some will question that move for a long time, but I didn't have a problem with it. My issue is that it should have never made it to OT. Once you get to OT, anything can happen.

On one hand, super proud to see Faber and Knies holding their own in the playoffs. Proud of them and the coaching staff.
On the other hand, how are those 2 not out there on the OT face off. When will that loss stop haunting?
The starting lineup for the game was Nelson, Brodzinski, Nevers, LaCombe, and Koster. Every single period they were the starting line. It was clearly a plan to play them against the Q top line. Why would they change it just because it was OT? That is not the decision to keep focusing on.
Let's not revise history and pretend that Faber or Knies were anything more than below average in that game
Gripping their sticks and playing like a team trying not to lose versus going for a win....every one of them from the coach on down. They got a goal from a 4th liner and a defensive center. Pffft.
They literally did not have another game like that all year.

Faber was exceptional. Watched it live at Amalieand multiple times on recording. Forwards were garbage. It can be tough if you don’t understand hockey ?.
Happy heavenly birthday to the great Glen Sonmor (April 22, 1929). Decades of wonderful memories, but this morning I had to watch the video of the 1981 brawl between the North Stars and the Boston Bruins. Glen getting into the fracas outside the locker room after the game was incredible. He was one of a kind and is still truly missed.
Announcers talking about Knies a ton. He is playing well.
Definitely noticed this with both Knies and Faber, from every announcer, not just Bucci. Very good to hear.
They both do make a good story. Made their NHL debuts, and got dropped right into the deep end with regular ice-time in the playoffs.
Luke Hughes not getting minutes for the Devils. Assume this is likely due to their roster compared with Wild or Toronto? Or Motzko and co. are just better at getting players NHL ready ?.

Luke Hughes will be a good NHL player, but like we have all seen, he needs to work on his defense. He can get away with his free wheeling stuff against college kids, but playing against bigger, stronger and smarter NHL players, that is not going to always work. I heard someone on NHL radio say that he will need to learn the Devils defensive structure before they will trust him on a regular basis. So yes, @Boninthebear , you are correct that players who play at Minnesota are usually more NHL ready because they are more complete players when they leave. That is why I feel Cooley should stay another year to round his game out.

Faber looked good last night. 18 min in the playoffs and +1 (albeit a 2 OT game).
Hopefully Knies gets a chance to make an impact tonight.
Faber was thrown out there in some pretty nail-biting situations. It's obvious the coach has confidence in him. I don't think he would be playing if he had come out of college a year earlier.
What happened to Addison? Was he a healthy scratch last night?
Faber playing for the Gophers this season worked well, he was 110% ready for the jump & avoided playing in the AHL. Conversely…it can be argued the competition wasn’t sufficiently challenging this season for Brock, but now after making the jump…it is. He got to hang with his buddies and made it to the title game & is now playing in the SC playoffs for his hometown team, a year he’ll never forget!
The line that says Nevers and Koster are still having trouble sleeping after the champ game got me. For all the talk on here, me included, about how much it still bothers us, it definitely bothers the players more.
Take note Cooley, Snuggy, and all the rest of the guys lined up in the pipeline...stay the extra year and continue to develop and maybe you can step into a big role just like Knies and Faber have rather than bouncing back and forth between the big club and the A.
Lots of things going on there. Back slammed into the boards, headlock, and fell on his shoulder. He did come back for a short shift, so that "may" eliminate a concussion, but as we have seen in sports, they sometimes miss those right away too.

I did not see live - was there any penalty? Is hauling down someone like that legal....?

No penalty even though the ref was watching the whole thing...

Probably a tough call on the ice, but the replay shows clearly the Fla player "finishes" off his "check" by slamming Knies' head to the ice. It was definitely a dick move.

Agree…he’s playing against MEN now…but has more than held his own & contributed to series win over ⚡️so very unfortunate to see him injured in this manner.

Im sorry, but there is just no place for this kind of crap in hockey. If we want to reduce concussions, traumatic brain injuries and CTE then someone needs to grow a pair and start making and enforcing rules against this type of behavior or it will continue. Watching that makes me sick to my stomach. You never know when a dirty play will be the one that might ruin an athletes career, or life down the road. Ugh.
