I've heard some players say that the play in the NHL is at times predictable if you have a good enough hockey brain. Most of your opponents are going to be where they're supposed to be defensively and most of your teammates are where they're supposed to be supporting the puck or on the forecheck. The brain is Novak's best tool, so suprising... but makes sense.

That's awesome. He was one of my favorites this year and really showed a big jump in his development.
Lacomb is another example of a Minnesota kid who developed just fine in college without getting mugged in the minors while growing into his body.
LaCombe has a chance to be a very, very, good NHL defensemen.
