Not happy with the PP right now. Losing face-offs and puck battles.
This.
Often the biggest pitfalls for any PP is players thinking they can coast since they are up a man. That is.....

I know Bob has tried a few different looks the past couple of weeks. Chesley was on the point a couple of times. Brodzy was the center on unit #2 a few times and the Farm Kid has been the center a few times. Moore has been center and wing. At least he is trying to find the right combo.

In addition to being 8 points ahead, we have a chance to permanently keep Notre Dame behind us with a sweep since they also still have their bye remaining.
Unless I counted wrong, Notre Dame has gone 6-5 at home and 7-10 overall since they came to Mariucci, though that includes 4 games each against MSU and Wisco where the when 1-7.

Thomas making progress. Hopes he will play this weekend.
Proud of this group.
1st half they were banged up. They kept getting better.
Sometimes he needs to start a fire with Pitlick. Calm off the ice like Close.
Jess asked about goalie interference. Just wishes for more consistency with those calls.
Bob says the break next week comes at a great time. More mental than anything else.
Asked if any word of the North Star Cup coming back. He hasn't heard anything.
Bob talked about the PP. Likes it in practice, but needs to execute in games. Said they have the talent.
Closer was up next--
Talked about the shutout record. Reporter was hesitant to ask about it, fearing the jinx. Close said it's fine to ask about it. Feels fortunate to play on good teams.
Says the young defensemen are getting more comfortable with more playing time.
Says Airey will be a fantastic goalie in the future.
Nevers was last to talk--
Talked about coming back from concussion. Also said he was dealing with an ankle injury. Conditioning was the toughest part after coming back.
Said the young guys are really starting to get better.
Called Rhett the Spider Monkey on the ice. Has called him that for years. They even had shirts made up with that on when they played together years ago.
Couple of notes--
There were a couple of questions via zoom for Bob from the Irish announcers.
Close is just as calm in the presser as on the ice. Most goalies are quirky, he is not.

Wisconsin and State went shopping for new teams in the off-season so the Big 10 is stacked this year.
Somebody was going to pay the price. It looks like those teams are Michigan and Notre Dame.
Michigan for sure, especially since there are still question marks surrounding their coaching staff, though Notre Dame's slide seems more gradual. Admittedly some of it is improvements in other teams, but I think ever since they joined and won the regular season race their first season, they've been slowing descending down the standings finishing in the middle of the pack the last few years. Michigan has games in hand and will likely pass them, so if that happens and we stay ahead of them, Notre Dame would finish 5th, which would be their worst so far.

Do they record these? I was hunting for it but couldn't find it.

It’s kind of a running joke on the CHN podcast that Notre Dame has played perfect .500 hockey the past two seasons. I’m expecting a split. Would be nice if the loss would be in OT or a shootout, or ya know, just sweep them😉
Anyone know if Peacock allows you to start the game from the beginning halfway through the stream OR rewind it to the beginning? And does anyone know if Peacock will let you continue streaming the game even after it ends?

I just checked as they have the Iowa women's hoops game on, and it only took me back a certain period of time and not the beginning.

I just tried a swimming meet that is in progress and it started up live. So it seems not.
Listening to the GPL pod from last night. In regards to Snuggy not having a couple of good weekends in terms of goals, I have to say that he looks tired. Just his body language looks like he's exhausted. Taking a ton of shots from high in the zone and not getting down low. I don't know if he will have a good weekend against ND, but I'm hoping the week off will do him well to get his legs and energy back.

I am able to see replays of past games they’ve had though, so this might be one of those things where if you miss the start and want to watch the entire game, wait until it has been over for a bit and find the replay.
I have no problems with Bob and think he’s a great coach but the Pino over Strobel thing is getting annoying because it’s clear as day who the better player is. Just frustrating.
Right?? One goes all out, forechecks hard, creates chances, and shoots once in awhile. The other appears to be a scared of the puck. Won't carry, only dumps or dishes to someone literally a foot a way (and often covered). There is something I am not seeing but after this many games I have no idea. Practice that doesn't transfer to actual games is just that... practice. Although I admit I am often baffled by the never ending love for #22. He can shoot, no doubt. But what else? Takes ridiculous penalties, not a great passer, forechecker, or defender. Shrugs all around.
In my eyes they are pretty equal, so I defer to Bob. I actually thought Pino made some good decisions with the puck on Sat, while Strobel made a couple of bad decisions. They had a good discussion about the Pino/Strobel situation on GPL Podcast last night.

28 points in 28 games is the answer to your question on that one lol
Tomorrow is Senior Day for Notre Dame and they will be wearing green. They are wearing dark blue tonight so it is the home whites for the Gophers both games.
