My friends and I were at Stub & Herbs after the Michigan State game and thankfully we decided not to even wait until the next day and we just bought our tickets then. I am so excited for this game and as I mentioned above we need that sweet revenge for last year. Mariucci is going to be rocking!
Yeah Sunday morning I'd say 15% of tickets remained open, mainly behind the net/corners. By Sunday afternoon is was completely sold out. Place is going to be electric!

Other than GPL, I can't find anything that confirms a "Gold Out" Saturday. There is nothing on Gophersports.com, U of M twitter or facebook pages. Is this legit?

Didn’t they try a gold out earlier this season? I think the same percentage of gold in the crowd you’d expect to see was present. I’m not holding out hope it comes to fruition.
There was more gold in the crowd earlier in the season than you'd normally expect, but way short of what they were trying for.

A couple of things. Something like this needs to be planned well in advance and not just dropped a week before the game. Really promoted heavily throughout the year. Maybe make it the Saturday home game vs the BADgers every year. Need to build this in the minds of the fans. Once people are used to it, then I think they can do this spur of the moment like this weekend.
Second-- I wonder what color of Gopher gear the majority of the fans have? Do they own more white, gold or maroon stuff? It seems to me more people own white jerseys, but other colors of sweatshirts etc. As someone who has multiple jerseys (a proud member of the loser club as one GPL said of jersey wearers) my wife and I can pull off whatever color they choose. But for shirts/sweatshirts, I only have a couple of gold ones, and many more maroon shirts/sweatshirts.
Third-- Maybe they should have given away GOLD shirts a couple of weeks ago instead of Maroon ones thinking ahead of maybe doing this, so then the fans would have a gold shirt to wear. Or, smart marketing would have inexpensive ($15) gold shirts available for purchase at the game.
I hope this is successful, but more importantly I'm just glad the arena is full again and the atmosphere is returning.

I spent money on a white jersey that was signed by the whole team (this was a while ago) so who am I to judge. Why not spend your money any way you want? Collecting jerseys is fun.
Plus my main comment would be it looks like somebody needs more Maroon jerseys. Only 3? Although, I am guessing the color distribution is based on the team not wearing Maroon at home and wanting to wear jerseys at home games that match the color the team is wearing.
BTW, you just need 2 more white and you could dress a full Gopher team.

I think I’ve worn a maroon once at home. I’ll wear any color on the road. I generally don’t have any need to wear the same color as the team, I’m usually on the road or have brought my jersey with to change after work before they announce which color they are wearing, if they do. I just pick whatever I’m feeling. Occasionally I don’t wear a jersey. ? Of course I will do as I was told and wear gold this weekend. 
Home whites look sharp no matter the team, especially as a contrast to dark breezers. I prefer maroon on the street, but I have sweatshirts, hats and tees in all 3 colors

I’d wear gold as the main home jersey. I love the color rush, especially contrasted to the reds of the BADgers and the greens of the F’ing Hawks.
Do like the LA Lakers or the Oakland A’s of the 70’s and make white the Sunday alternate jersey. Because white looks clean and pure for special occasions.

Agree... the Gophers road uniforms along with the gold helmet combo is hands down the best. Same for basketball (all maroon) and football all maroon with maroon helmets especially at night under the lights.

I long thought they should pull a Sweden and make gold the home jersey as well. Although I suppose pulling a Sweden would be making them both home and away, but the IIHF finally told them they can’t do that years ago.
Personally I’m partial to the crisp, clean look of the home whites. But the road maroons are definitely classic and the gold alternates certainly pop. I’d love for them to bring back some version of the mid-90s gold uniforms with the maroon shoulders as well as the other maroon and white accents.
Either way, no matter what uniform they wear, just win baby!

Just realized I have a gold jersey signed by the entire 2011-12 Frozen Four team. It’s all framed and everything. Don’t know if I’m gonna wear it I wanna keep it nice.
