FYI Gopher football @ Wisconsin 11/26 too.
Thanksgiving in AZ does sound enticing though.
They were supposed to play four home and home from 2018-19 - 2022-23. They ended up playing three. I believe if Covid hadn't happened they would have played every year, with 2020-21 being a meeting in the Ice Breaker in Duluth.
So non conference is still really unknown.
2 UND
2 @ASU
2? (CC @ Mariucci?)

I'm hoping for a Mankato home and home... And maybe UST comes into Mariucci for the first time to get pounded.

The CC games seem to be the most curious. I think that Vegoe was saying a while back that the return trip here may not happen. Things may have changed due to the coaching change at CC since the original agreement? It has been very quiet on that front. Hopefully they do come here and complete that agreement.

I'm good with that. We shouldn't just play the same non-conference teams every year. Yes, keep the other Minnesota schools in the rotation for non-conference games, but mix it up a bit. CC/DU, MTU/Northern/LSSU, Hockey East teams, some ECAC, etc.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
MTU would be fun, have them come into Mariucci this season with a road trip there in fall 2023-24.
Or Qpac and have a trip out there in 2023-24 so I can try a bunch of pizza in New Haven.
I'm hearing a home and home series with Mankato early in the season.
I am the official Iowa Hawkeye football fan of GPL!
Obviously a good option and I'll def be driving down there that night
I'm not that picky, really. I just want some variety. Two weekends a year of UND/Minnesota schools is plenty.

I just want a competitive non conference schedule. Maybe 1 or 2 cupcake/doormat programs, but 3-4 "tier 1" programs. It's hard to predict future seasons, but everyone knows the household name teams.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Anyone close to the program know if us fans will get the season schedule before they drop the puck in October?
I’m already booking appointments six months out and it’s impossible to keep days blocked for potential road trips.
I'd bet not until B1G decides the Bouncyball schedule so they can figure out the TV games for BTN.

Early thoughts were that the series in Tempe would be played at Oceanside, but from what I can gather from ASU, they appear to be playing at their new rink on-campus. Still, they only have scattered season tickets available, so I wonder if there will be any visiting seats available.

Last year they announced the non conference schedule on July 22.

That still leaves a lot of schedule unknown when trying to plan around work!
Unfortunately, it's pretty obvious the B1G doesn't really care about people making travel plans for games. In honesty, those of us that do try to travel for games are a pretty small minority of fans overall, so I'm not really surprised.

My two interests... Notre Dame and if the Gophers have a home and home with Kato. South Bend is hands down my favorite BIG trip. Just have Penn State left to finish the BIG Conference tour.

We need to make that one happen.
We usually have the non-conference schedule long before the U puts out their schedule. So many other schools put their schedule out much earlier and it is pretty easy to put it all together. I am guessing we should know a lot more in the next month or so.

Just wondering why Notre Dame tops your BIG list? I've been to South Bend, but not for hockey and wasn't impressed. Would agree, though, that the campus is first rate.
I'd assume because Ann Arbor is a whore and happy valley is too far.

That is another one that is nearly impossible to get tickets to. We’ll never get a group in there. Some friends that went to PSU this year only got tickets because of a friend who had season tickets and couldn’t go. There was nothing available for away fans.

Many good breweries, wineries, distillery, and restaurants close or on the way.
I’ve missed the Misbeehavin’ meadery in Valparaiso! Although almost got there this year but Covid denied me a trip to south bend.
Jup—You have the countdown running to Oct 7. I’m guessing that’s an estimate since it isn’t in the schedule yet. Correct? (I’m not actually asking about the countdown—I have my own weird reason for asking)

Yep... just a guess for now. Hearing rumblings that it could be 10/1. I will update once I have something a bit more concrete.

10/1 for an exhibition game maybe? Assuming the border with Canada stays open, I have been wondering if there will be any international matchups penciled in.

It could even be that for a real game. Just waiting for any confirmation. But I do not count any exhibition as the first game for the countdown.

24 Big Ten (12 home)
2@ASU
2 UND
2 Lindenwood
1+1 with Mankato
1+1 with SCSU
Do they get an extra series cuz Lindenwood is in their first year? Extra series would definitely be at home because season ticket holders look at cost per game. My top pick would probably be MTU to have that as a road trip option in a future season.

The UND games are home games.

Oh ya, duh.
I’m hoping a series with St Thomas. Get that cross town series off and running.

Wanted that, too, but now with the Lindenwood news, do we really want 4 cupcake games? Wouldn't have a problem with it but something to think about.
Lindenwood is not a PWR booster.

I also have no idea what he did there.
Only around 5 more months to wait

Reference to Crosstown 62 maybe? Though it's more of a Hwy 55 series.

Gopher football bye week too for those who do both.
Much prefer with home and home series, Friday night at Mariucci and Saturday night on the road.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Potential sell out material if they market it right.

Setting up like last year with the Gophers home for most of October. For personal reasons, I would prefer that they spread out the games more instead of being home for 4 straight weeks in October (including the home and home series). Last year they had only 4 regular series (3 scheduled and the makeup UAA games) after Thanksgiving.

110% agree... hopefully the "U" learned something from the BIG and the BIG Championship vs. Michigan. Price it right and they'll come.

Would be nice to open the regular season at home and curbstomp them. Twice. If that series doesn’t fire this team up for summer prep…..!
I like that as a potential season opener. I always wondered why college hockey didn’t take a page out of college football’s book more often and schedule big non conference games to kickoff the season.
I am guessing there will be some sort of exhibition the weekend before.... Right?
