Coach said he wants to know why the the Sun Devils goal in the third period was allowed since it appeared to be a clear goalie inference. Apparently the Refs wanted an exciting finish. ?

Someone said earlier that the team was playing around in the hotel pool. Anybody with a kid in hockey can tell you that the pool is an energy killer during road tournaments. Add turkey and mashed potatoes, and probably a little sight seeing, and this is what you get. Not exactly the pregame regimen for focusing on winning a hockey game.

Wally did try to get him to say something possible by mentioning that Nelson played well which coach responded by saying he has been a rock (solid) for the team but he needs more people helping.
Coach focused on that the team needs to grind harder. He did say that the third period was definitely better. His frustrations was the first two periods. He said multiple times we will be better tomorrow.

I would be surprised if they were actually “playing” in the pool. Back in high school if we stayed at a hotel with a pool we either weren’t allowed to bring swim wear or only after we were knocked out of the tournament.

The arena is worth getting to. It is REALLY nice. The only bar relatively close is Buffalo Wild Wings. They have $3 tall local beers.
The effort in the second period tonight was pathetic. I anticipate that doesn't happen tomorrow night.
I also have to disagree with Bob on the goalie interference. From my view, the ASU player was pushed into Close. I'm glad it didn't affect the win.

Yep. He said 1 new player caught it this week. Says this bug is not just a 24 hr thing, and is lasting about 5 days.
I'm currently on my 14th day ( having, early on, supposedly, ruled COVID out with a home test kit [ which I trust about as far as I can throw it ] ) and on my 5th ( and last day ) of the Vick's VapoCOOL Severe Cough & Cold medicine protocol . . . .
Severe sore throat that got up to my right ear, night sweats, cough that seemed to be coming from my stomach ( it was that deep ), runny nose that wouldn't quit, fever, aches, and pains, off and on . . . . Could sing those low bass notes ( with Paul Robeson ) on "Old Man River" . . . normally, 2nd tenor . . . .
Levelled off when I began the VapoCOOL protocol . . . actually improving quite a bit during the day time hours. But, trying to return again overnight . . . . Get in to see my doctor on Monday afternoon . . . . Send "Best Wishes" . . . .

The good news is that they won a game in which they did not play well. tBob even said with Jess that he benched the Cooley-Knies-Snuggy line at the end of the 2nd and beginning of the 3rd. The game reminded me of the Penn St loss where they got too cute with their passing and could not get it out of the zone. I felt Chesley was really off his game last night and even Faber made a few mistakes with the puck. I do expect a much better effort tonight.

My thoughts on Friday night:
Gophers: They played this game like an exhibition (in spurts). I even heard Gophers fans yelling "Shoot the puck" which made me chuckle. Happy about the win, but they won't be able to play that way against top ten teams.
Arena: I didn't like the narrow concourses and bathroom availability. Food prices ($14 slice of pizza) and Parking ($15) were a little high. They had a nice scoreboard over center ice, but showed very few replays? If they ever allow campus sites back for Regionals it would be perfect size (I believe 5,000)
The whole tryptophan in turkey making you sleepy thing is a myth. Any time you eat a big meal you’ll get sleepy from excess blood flow needed for digestion. It’s not turkey specific.
Guy I work with has whatever this flu thing is and it’s totally kicking his ass. Luckily it’s a short week for us.
