I watched the entire MSU at PSU series and MSU came very close to sweeping PSU at PSU. They were the better team that weekend to my eye. They have superb goaltending and have some players who can put the puck in the net. They were very strong on their forecheck all weekend.
Gophers will have their hands full this weekend. Should be a great test to see how we bounce back. Hoping for at least a split on the road, but 4-6 pts would be great!

I estimate the times if they are not given and they need to be updated when it gets set. But most of the time it is set and no one lets me know.

The Gophers MUST step up their game if they plan on taking points out of Munn. They certainly have the potential to perform well, including a sweep, but if they play the way they did in Arizona, Sparty will be the one celebrating a sweep.

I estimate the times if they are not given and they need to be updated when it gets set. But most of the time it is set and no one lets me know.
No problem. I just didn't want people to look at the 1st post and miss the 1st period on Saturday. I had to double check on the Michigan St website to verify as well as my channel guide said 5pm. At least the games are on BTN this week, so there should be no confusion on that issue.

I just posted the USCHO rankings as an informational tool, not to be the thread police. ? When I saw Sparty at #6, I knew that he used the pairwise, which is fine. As you said, the Gophers better come out prepared, as they will come out ready to avenge the way the Gophers have dominated them the past few years as I think the Gophers have won 9 in a row over them.

would it be possible to put TBD on the downloadable schedule until we have a firm time? I usually look at that schedule as it’s most convenient. For instance Dec. 29th game doesn’t have an official time yet as per the UMN. (Which is challenging as someone who has to take time off of work for mid week games to not know until it’s too late to request the time).

I wondered if it made you enter a time. I don’t think it’s even the U that has complete control, I’m sure we are waiting for TV scheduling. Just thought I’d ask. 😉
I posted it in the local broadcast thread as well, but DirecTV and some of the Fox channels need to agree on a contract by Friday or they could be pulled off the air. This includes BTN, but not Ballys. So those who watch the Gophers on BTN via DirecTV need to be prepared for other options.

-- He discussed his thoughts on the whole weekend.
-- Need to put that series in the garbage can and move on.
-- uncharacteristic loose in game 2. Never should have made it to OT.
-- Defense had a poor night because they went off script. Defense handed them 3 or 4 goals in game 2.
-- Wally complained about where they had to call the games in the arena. Bob didn't buy it.
-- The portal makes teams deeper. Uses Merrimack as an example of how the portal has helped them.
-- Bob says Michigan St now has 1st class facilities after their recent renovations. That will allow them to be competitive.
-- Gophers need to make a strong push for the next 4 games. Get back to playing like before.

it’s kind of a crummy picture, but this was taken after the Cooley lacrosse goal. He scored off to the left. The arrow points to Wally and Frank. It’s pretty far off to the side over on the right. I’ll side with Wally on this one. I was on the side of the net Cooley came around and it happened fast so I can very much imagine it was hard to see from his angle, and if the arena showed replays (which I don’t think they did on this goal), it was usually a minute or two later.
The new chat has been working very well, numbers are up for participants, too, which is good. Obv it will up and running for the games again, if one hasn't checked it out, give it a whirl! Live commentary on the game, breakdowns, etc, and between periods there is some small talk. The GPL staff has been posting more than in the past with period summaries/stats/info, etc, it's almost like a podcast lite.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

where is the media availability posted? I don’t see it on the rink live YouTube or Facebook page.
Looking forward to this series, I’m guessing the team will take it more seriously given that it’s an in conference game and they often play to their opponents’ level. If MSU gave Penn St a tough time as the road team that’s a pretty good sign of the challenge ahead. Should be a good test.

Cooley is starting to heat up with three straight two point games and the first goal tonight.
Cooley scored two goals in his first game then went 11 games with only one goal (an empty netter). He now has scored in 3 of his last 4 games.
