Funny… I was thinking the ‘g’ was standing for ‘ground’ and was trying to figure out the rest.

1.21 inches measured yesterday morning, 1.30 today. Plus a few spare sprinkles this afternoon.
B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
The people down the street from our lake place (southern Chisago County) are reporting 2.3 inches the past seven days. We had to run up this morning (do some winterizing and bring home fridge/freezer stuff) and the ground was soft for the first time since May.

What a strange weather day. It's 45 degrees and we have had some strong storms rolling though here today including a 10 minute hail storm. Luckily, it was only pea size, but I have seen photos from east of here with baseball size hail near Springfield. Snow expected on Sat-Sun here.

i have a new rule. As long as the stores keep putting out Christmas decorations early, I'm ok with snow falling when the first Christmas crap hits the shelves. I don't negotiate with terrorists.

Snow is fine. I despise the cold. However, I made my choice to live here, so I deal with it.
And wow, people freak out during a light rain. 35 mph on the highway on my way home?! Really?

I don’t like clearing the driveway. I hate it. So F snow.
I like cold and I like snow… just need it to be fall like for the first two weeks of November. Building a shed to store my stuff and make room in the garage for my wife’s bookstore/library.

take it up with Target and Costco

I doubt there's a retailer in the US that HASN'T already put out their Christmas displays.

Here is the crazy part of store displays. When I used to work for Pepsi stocking shelves on the weekend I remember that those places were receiving holiday items in the middle of the summer and storing them in the back. They will also be receiving Easter stuff before Christmas is over as well!

You Goyim and your incessant need to make Christmas last all year long...
This time of year I feel it is my job to hold back my wife from Christmas decorating. I do feel she would be Christmassed up before Halloween if it wasn't for me. In my mind we still have two holidays to get through before we consider Christmas. I need this time to mourn the loss of summer daylight and warmth. In her mind there is only one Holiday and it should last 3 months.

I put up my artificial tree today! It’s not decorated but the physical tree is in place. Why so early? I’m leaving for a week on Friday on a vacation. I have an astonishing amount of ornaments, over 2000. It takes me a full three weeks to do the tree and I need to be done before Thanksgiving as we head to my FIL for a week. When we return we hit the ground running on holiday events. This all sounds like excuses but I don’t care ?
I collect antique/vintage ornaments and belong to an international collectors group. I like your wife’s thinking and so do thousands of my friends ? So I’m going to go all Krampus on you and say let your wife enjoy it.

I know a certain tape manufacturer who starts to make their Christmas magic tape starting sometime around February 1

Raining again
This would have been much more appreciated while I was running my sprinklers an hour per zone every other day to keep the lawn from roasting.Raining again

Right with ya. Waiting for my next water bill which covers July, Aug, Sept and Oct. Should be a nice one. The rain is helping out at our cabin though. Labor Day weekend the lake was super low. We gained about 8 feet of shoreline. In the past month is has came back up which is nice.
It's mid October and my lawn is more green then it was all spring and summer... lol!!!

Ours too. We put down grass seed to go dormant over the winter and be ready for spring snow melt.
Ha, jokes on us, we have lush baby grass that may or may not survive the winter.

I'm waiting until the ground more or less freezes. They didn't get around to aeration until a week and a half ago due to a scheduling snafu so I'm holding off.
My grass has never been greener and I have not watered my lawn in weeks. No need for irrigation as it is getting blown out tomorrow. So spongy out there.
Winter just arrived
Prediction—We’ll hit 60 again this year.
I'd take that bet

Yep, started snowing in Excelsior about 8:30ish, and it was off-and-on until I got back to my place. 10 minutes later, it was coming down. Have a coating so far.

Ground is covered here in Mankato, the roads are ice. Had to play dodge cars this morning on the way to work. I watched a lady come in too hot to the intersection I was stopped at and she bounced her car off the curb when turning. Welcome to Minnesota's first snow.

We have been handing out full size candy bars at Halloween the last few year. We usually have about 200 trick or treaters.
I have a feeling we will end up with an ass load of candy bars this year.

First Gopher Hockey title will be 50 years in March. Wow. Hopefully on the day, March 16, the Gophers are playing a conference semifinal game at Mariucci. But since that's not a sure thing, they should do the ceremony two weeks before at the last home game vs. Michigan.

I've actually did something similar years ago. It was on New Year's Eve and a bunch of us were sitting in a outside jacuzzi. I was dared to dive in a pile of snow. Diving in the snow wasn't bad at all. It was getting back into the jacuzzi. It felt 1,000s of pins being driving into my skin. It actually hurt for a few seconds.
