But for Blaine it says we got 4.75”. That is a lot of rain.
I didn't see anything in the news, but was there much flooding in the Blaine area? Not as much concrete as downtown Mpls. for water to go, but Blaine is still pretty flat.
Keep your stick on the ice...
We ended up with a total of .15 out of the whole system.
3.78" in the last seven days here in IGH.
I use Weather Underground app and it says Minneapolis got 0.61 inches of rain in the last 24 hours.

I really like Weather Underground for their hour-by-hour forecast for the day. Very accurate.

Weather Underground is owned by Weather Channel and I'm guessing has the exact same info. Just depends which interface you like better. I use the Weather Channel site and agree the hour by hour forecasts are pretty good.

That is the flaw of the WU site. I usually get Eagle River MI or Houghton MI due to my constantly checking them when I am about to head up there. I obviously check the weather there more than I check Hopkins/Mtka MN, for obvious reasons.

Just buy an auto emptying rain gauge.
As much of a pain in the ass as it is to calibrate, my Acurite is within a millimeter of actual.
It’s been thunder and lightning for about 6 hours. System is just parked over us. Another couple inches of rain and more due tonight.
it’s monsoon season apparently.
Please concentrate that monsoon energy over Chisago MN, we need all the water we can get.

It was raining with a really nice lightning storm in the Lakeville/Rosemount/Apple Valley early this morning when I was heading to work. A good steady rain all the way to the work in Mpls. And it's raining and thundering like 'cats & dogs' all morning. I can hear the rain hitting the roof and the thunder from the lab in the center of the clinic.

Same here. I was combining corn and storms were popping up all around me, and I could see lots of lightning and ZIP... Now in the severe drought area.

Rain came back this evening, some lightning, but nothing major. Lightning did strike a tree in my parking lot today. Blew out the other building's electrical everything (in my complex) completely. I actually saw the bolt while at the Kwik Trip on Cty Rd 6/Plymouth Rd, briefly (and jokingly) thought: wow, I bet that hit my place). Errrrr, well....ooops. Caretaker said anyone hardwired in that building is prob f*ed until Monday, when they can get people in to fix stuff.

Been raining like hell all night but crazy heavy rain and huge lightning bolts for the last hour or so.
We have to be close to 9” of rain this week. I think average annual rainfall is 31”. I wouldn’t mind spreading it out a bit.
Looks like Chisago is getting hammered now!
From around 4:00 AM, around 2 inches in Brooklyn Park again. Tomorrow I'll take a look at total since last Saturday afternoon, but something around 8 inches.
Prior to last Saturday afternoon, I'd have to go all the way back to April before the total precipitation hit 8 inches for me. I don't know for certain, but pretty sure some of that was melted snow.

Got .7 here last night. Came down sideways and in a short time but we'll take it. 1.7 for September

It's miserably humid today. Took the 3 kids to the MOA for some fun dad/kids day. And even the MOA was humid inside.

If anyone has the ability to cool it down approx 20 degrees and lower the dew point by the same, that would be much appreciated for the marathon tomorrow.
I live in the 9 inch zone and let me tell you, it felt like it was pouring every other hour for the past week…. It’s been crazy.
my grass has rarely looked this healthy..

4.7 in GDO.
Hopefully the soccer fields have dried. Last week someone on the field over had to get hauled off in an ambulance from the field. They were like soldier field in December. Just a disaster.

As I'm sure everyone heard, it was black flagged and cancelled. Feel bad for everyone who trained, but man, I can't imagine having a marathon with 70+ wet bulb.

Yeah it’s super disappointing. Some friends and I tried to make the best of it and run 13 miles around the Mpls lakes. By the end it was getting warm. The last half of the race would not have been fun. The right choice was probably made, but the communication from the race staff left a lot to be desired.
Will it be DeJaVu all over again tonight? They have said we are "supposed" to get close to 2 inches of rain tonight. Last week was the same setup and we got next to nothing. Yesterday a field of soybeans caught on fire by a combine near me and with the dry conditions and gusty winds the fire spread very quickly. Time will tell...

I heard about possible rain, and when the wind realllllly kicked up this afternoon, you could tell something was coming. It's been that constant mist/light drizzle so far in the Ridgedale area.

It actually rained in the desert of SW MN. I got.71 last night. It was the most rain we have received since August 13th (.85) and more than the entire month of September ( .65 ).

Would have been nice back in, say, April, but at least get some in the ground for next year.
Just don't want a late freeze in April or May, especially if you have your crop in the ground.

Just starting to rain here. Would have been nice in July.

During a drought you certainly never want to refuse rain, and we are in at least a 2 year drought cycle. The rain is a nice slow one that will soak in instead of a huge storm that will run off. It will delay the other farmers from the harvest around here a bit, and will delay my tillage work for a week. But, I will take what we get and am just glad what crop I got this year is either in the bin or in the bank.

As of now, I have received 1.97 inches of rain. They say we could get another 1/3 to 1/2 inch from the wrap around. It was the 1st timeall year that I had to empty the bottom half of my rain gauge. It is just soaking in the ground, as I only have a couple of areas of standing water in the yard and the sump pump hasn't even turned on. I have now received 2.70 inches of rain this month, most of any month this year. Go figure.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.
2.2 here. Far and away our biggest rain of the year. Had this come in July it would have been the proverbial "million dollar rain"
The way people were driving today you would have thought it was snowing.
The ground is nicely saturated. Walked out to check the bird feeders and squirrel feeder. The yard is very spongy and my sump pump was pumping most the night. Getting less out of the drought levels.

Yep, the caretaker at my building said the whole property was "spongy" by about 3pm, and it was still raining for hours after that.
