With a few exceptions, I don't shovel after February. The temps and sun angle are high enough to do the work for you. My south facing driveway also helps.

My neighborhood got a couple inches.

What was really strange, is that we had fog, rain, sleet, thunder, lightning, snow (and some thundersnow) and the briefest peek from the sun. MN weather, I tell ya...

Measured just under 5 inches before doing the driveway this morning. Not so terrible with the snowblower except where it starts to slope more near the street. It was so slippery due to the freezing rain which fell before the snow that I almost lost it several times. I finally left it, saying to myself, "that's good enough, it'll melt eventually."

I was surprised at how much we got here. Last I heard was a couple inches but it must have changed over more quickly. My snowblower was mostly ok but there a layer of wet stuff that was just enough to jam up the blower and make things more difficult

Four inches on top of a half inch of ice here in central St. Louis Park. Single stage took one sip of the brown slush at the end of the driveway and died immediately. Mr. Green

My nephew was assigned to the Toledo, but it's "in the shop for repairs." In the meantime he's on the Pasadena. Brought new perspective to my complaining about all the ice. Mr. Green

I obviously hadn’t been in this thread since Jup cleaned up - it defaults to the first available post. I was super confused why everyone was all worried about something that might happen Thursday. Then I saw the date. ?

We got a couple inches but it packed down quite a bit with how wet it was.

Yeah I'd guess maybe 2 here for me in Eagan. Kinda nice because the area I walk the dog in was basically all ice so the wet snow is nice to be able to get traction for walking.

We got a solid five here in Uptown. Heard plenty of thunder snow late last night.

This is crazy. A pickup is overturned, then drives away.

Honestly, whatever company made that pickup, that is their next TV commercial to show how "tough" their truck is. Not even joking.

At the 2:50ish mark you will see why mobile homes are a poor tornado option. Shock

Before driving away, wouldn't a normal person get out and look for damage?

IF I were to have found myself in that position, and the vehicle appeared to still be mostly functional, I'd be driving away and looking at damage once I'm more than a couple hundred feet from a tornado, thank you.

Maybe not tens of miles... if it's heading directly away from me, 5 miles or so is fine.

Either way, not digging around the car with debris falling out of the sky around me.

Send it to Chevy and try to get a new truck. They can use this one for advertising.

I suspect GM is already trying to get in touch with the owner.

So he drove in bad weather to make sure he didn't miss a job interview.....good for him and I am glad he got the job.

And also glad he is being offered a new truck from multiple dealerships since he bought the truck from his dad. No talk about the experience of being in the middle of a tornado...how do they not ask/show that?

It was a steady 35 mph with 50 mph gusts out here on the prairie. It was messing with the dish, but luckily it calmed down a bit before the game.

My apt complex has two buildings, but for simplicity, it's set up like a horseshoe. That wind is a-swirlin' right now.
