Idk what beer you’re referring to but assuming it’s some light beer (or even if it’s not) it shouldn’t be hard to find a similar replacement.
A couple of us on this site have OC mugs from 10 tours or more. We tried it figure what it cost us to get that mug along with all those shirts. It was pretty hefty lol!!!

The guy that organized this is the only guy bringing his wife. I don't think he has any clue it's Hooters-esque. Planning to be there early to see/hear her first impression. This is hilarious because I don't view this thread often and I am meeting some college buddies there tonight. I saw the online reviews and I thought about guiding them elsewhere, but didn't want the job of organizing the next place.A couple neighbors of mine hit up Racks in Mtka. Absolutely hated it. They agreed with my assessment that it had bland food and the waitresses resembled a poor man's Hooters.

Not that I would go or take my family on purpose. Though without knowing with the place was exactly. I was talking to my wife about going to the one in Burnsville and checking the place out. For some reason, I googled them and realized it was good thing before walking my kids in.
Beer selection is not a compliant I have ever heard when referencing Old Chicago.I never found the fascination with OC. We have friends who live in Eden Prairie, and when we are in town for hockey, that is the place they want to meet at. The service has always been slow and half the time they don't have the beer I drink, which is a basic beer..
OC use to have around 110 beers between taps, bottles and cans. And over time it has dwindled. When I got married I was at 55 beer tours (110 beers a tour). After 2.5 years of marriage, I still at 55 beer tours... lol.
They only OC's left in state are EP and Duluth.
Roseville closed?
And I stopped going there after the shutdown when they fired all their employees (was at 11 tours). One of the tricks for the tours was to order 10zers (not really advertised, and you could hit the max of 4-beers-count-towards-tour limit, and still be fine to drive).

waitresses dressed much more tame than Hooters. Some slight ass cheek showing at best. Service was fine. My buddies had the $10 cheeseburger special and said it was decent. They had a free taco bar at halftime. This is hilarious because I don't view this thread often and I am meeting some college buddies there tonight. Just as we were leaving a regular, and clearly a professional drinker, fell hard and knocked himself out cold. He puked up clear liquid under his face even though he was unconscious. He was breathing but likely facing a very rough night. Hope he makes it. We left before the ambulance arrived.

BADger fan in town early for this weeks games? ?
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.

I used to travel to the LA area for work and would walk past this joint when out & about in Acadia, CA. One of my favorite all time bar names!

Yup email was sent out Tues. Yeah on some of the Mini Tours the 10oz is the way to go especially when they do the nasty beers in the tour. 1 or 2 gulps and it is gone.
Not a BIG '5 Guys' fan... but you can't go wrong with their fries with malt vinegar and the bacon milkshake.

Yep... I have drank a lot of bad beers and A LOT of good beers over the years doing mini tours. Though once your finish 10 tours and get the mug. Mini tours were on the back burner for trying to finish.

I love 1st time people there and they order a large fry not knowing if you order a small you still get a bag full of fries. Burgers are Meh but yeah the Fries are great
MyBurger is so much better including their fries.
Has anyone tried the new chicken nuggets at Taco Bell. Ben Leber was raving about them this morning on the Power Trip morning show. I guess they are only available in Minnesota.

They are probably what you would expect from chicken nuggets at a Taco Bell.

According to Leber, they are washed in jalapeno butter, lightly bread with dipping sauce.

Yes that's probably what they say in the commercial.
God it's been so long since I've had fast food. I legitimately can't remember the last time.
I guess I had jimmy John's this year. So that probably counts.
I have two kids who play hockey 6 days a week, so we eat it all the time. LOL. I love to cook, but its a sprint most nights and the timing is always against you.God it's been so long since I've had fast food. I legitimately can't remember the last time.

Fast food can become a grey area to define (places like My Burger, Taco Libre are pretty fast).
When it comes to drive-throughs, I don't think I've been through one other than Chick Fil A, or somewhere else in pure desperation, in years.

Rookie! What you do is order 1 oz of whatever crappy beer, and then fill the rest of the glass with Guinness and have them ring it up as the crappy beer; it's considered a "blend."
If the crappy beer is a bottle or can, wait for them to run out, then you can order any beer you want, and they'll ring it up as the beer they are out of. A buddy and I did that for the putrid Sweet Potato beer one year.

To say we enjoy our relaxing nights on the couch while we still have them is an understatement. We know it won't always be that way so
Anyone know where you can buy broccoli rabe in the cities?
I'd imagine Byerly's, East Side Coop and Trader Joe's although it might be seasonal.
Looks like Lund's doesn't have it but uptown Whole Foods might. Also potentially kowalskis according to instacart search.
Any of you living there making plans to visit Smash Park?
Had dinner at 6Smith in Wayzata tonight. Wow. It'll put a dent in your wallet, but very much worth the prices. Had the blackened pork chop with braised peaches and pea pods (it was on their "specials" menu). The rest of the table had the ribeye, filet mignon, and flank steak. Zero complaints.
The service was attentive. The ambience was a little loud; they had what I would call "classic bar favorites" of the 70s-90s playing, I thought it was unneeded, and also didn't quite fit the vibe they otherwise portray.

Took my 2 daughters to 'The Muddy Chicken' in Burnsville for lunch today. Buy looking at the menu, this place might give D-Spot a run for flavor of wing. The Muddy Chicken has 35 flavor and over 25 sound good. Plus, they are really nice sized drummies and flats. The one negative, the flavors come groups of 8. So even though I ordered 16 wings, I could only get two flavors. I was hoping for groups of 4, so I could try 4 flavors.
I also asked if the Muddy Chicken and Muddy Cow were and connected and was told yes.

Oyster wings are back at LeeAnn Chin. The pandemic is now officially over!

@idontknow Seems like you've got quite a Duluth food tour going! The fluctuating experiences at some spots can happen, but Pickwick's ambiance makes it a family favorite. Pizza Luce is a hit everywhere, though not exclusive to Duluth. OMC Smokehouse serves decent BBQ, and 7 West Taphouse nails burgers, fries, and beer choices. It's a bit like seekinghe best breakfast tacos in San Antonio—exploring various spots until you find the real gems!

Craft And Crew (owns Pub 819 in Hopkins and Duke's in Minnetonka, and 4 other places around the metro) bought the St Louis Park Galaxy Inn drive-thru, hopes to have it re-open by summer.

Muddy Paws Cheesecake is going under. String of unfortunate personal events over the last 5-10 years, the pandemic, and honestly a couple bad business decisions (in my opinion) are too much to overcome.
Too bad. Delicious cheesecakes. A bit too $$$, though.

They did some collabs with Back Channel Brewery and made some cheesecakes w/infused stouts, which were ZOMG phenomenal, and always sold out at the brewery, but, yeah...sometimes a business just fails. *shrug*

I saw a news story that they are currently asking for donations to try and stay afloat:
Basically within a city square block Apple Valley has KFC, Raising Canes (particularly next door to KFC), Chick-fil-a and being built pretty much across the street, Popeye’s. That’s a whole a lot chicken and options.

I wish Zaxby's and/or Bo Jangles would expand north. Both are excellent; when I was in NC for work a couple weeks (a couple different times) for work and both were in my lunch rotation.

There's room in the old Rainbow parking lot... Arby's, Popeye's (coming), bank and White Castle.

Waffle House sucks. And not even the good kind of sucks like say In and Out Burger. Waffle House is trash which is why it is on every corner in Mississippi.
It isnt even good drunk food it is just "If you want to be a fat redneck sweating through your wife beater" food. White Castle is better. Yeah I said it.

no one should ever be allowed to eat at either of those places. Ew.
I like White Castle although I only ate it 2-3 times a year when I was there.

I ate there once. Thinking about it makes me want to hurl. Same with Taco Bell.
what some people consider food. 🤮😉
I didn’t mind White Castle back in the day either. I eat very little fast food now, so it hasn’t been visited in probably ten years at least. The only one that made me feel ill interestingly is the one I live closest to now, the one by Walgreens across 7 from Knollwood.
White Castle is terrible. I gave it a fair shot back in the day, and ugh. Much like Karlsson, though, I pretty much don't eat fast food anymore. Maybe once or twice a year I'll give in to a Mickey D's breakfast.

White Castle’s sliders are only good if you’re hade one or two too many. Or once every two years. Though they do have a decent breakfast that doesn’t require being under the influence.

Fast Food restaurants are “to each their own”. There’s just only so much space and people to please. And so many fast restaurants overlap and a blind taste test you couldn’t tell which is which.
