What is your favorite book? Again, no rules. One from childhood? One you read over and over. It doesn’t have to be literature, just a favorite.

My childhood fav was called Miss Happiness and Miss Flower. Two Japanese dolls and the Japanese dollhouse the little girl builds for them.

As an adult I still love James Mitchners Hawaii. I read it about every 4-5 years and I still get enthralled with the characters. His later books were a disappointment for me, but that one is wonderful.

Not a singular book, but a series: Uncle John's Bathroom Reader. Just contains a bunch of random stories on how things came about/trivia.

One of my favorites that I love sharing with kids: Harold and the Purple Crayon. I've always loved that book.

About a kid who was blinded, and how he learned to read, get around, and got a guide dog. My kids all liked, and I read it with my Grandson recently.

Ooo, Da Vinci Code. Have you read Angels and Demons? I think I like that one even better. Maybe because I’ve been to Rome and visited almost all the places mentioned.

There is an illustrated version of The DaVinci Code that has pictures of the artwork, buildings, etc. described in the book. While now it's easy to quickly look us this stuff it's still a cook version. It's like a textbook in size but it's a fun way to read it.

The Count of Monte Cristo

I've probably read it a dozen times and I still catch something new every time.

They are both outstanding. But I wish Brown had stopped after those two. The next three Prof. Langdon books were disappointing, kind of a cookie cutter feel to them.

There's so many to choose from:

The Call of the Wild

White Fang

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

I've read each of those at least four times.

for modern literature, I'd have to go with The Hunt For Red October.

For adult books, The Art Of War by Sun Tzu, and translated by Thomas Cleary (contains multiple commentaries on the strategies/etc of the original text).

As a kid, the Black Stallion series.

As an adult I’ve not read nearly enough for pleasure but working to change that. Currently reading the Chronicles of Narnia.

While we're talking books, does anyone else read Allen Eskens? He's a fairly new Minnesota author. His books are kind of a blend of mystery and human interest stories. I met him at a book discussion at our library (there were only about 5 people there) after his first book came out "The Life We Bury." Now he's up to six, all pretty good.

I loved Call of the Wild. My mom read it to my brother and I, one chapter a night, we both were enthralled.

I just found 6 Clive Cussler books in a box while cleaning. Now I've only got about 100 books left to read.

Love reading, so close to impossible to choose one book. Guess if I had to I’d say The Big Sleep.

If you like Hiassen give Tim Dorsey a try. Serge Storms is a fantastic character!

I’m reading Ben Bernanke’s autobiography right now. Very interesting.

Favourite book... hmm that’s tough I really liked the pace of the Da Vinci Code. That’s way up there.

In my studies I loved the Prince by Machiavelli.

Yep, that's why I said I wasn't a cocktail guy if you stick to the definition of it.

Yes. Whiskey neat? Not a cocktail. Mixed with coke? Yes. There must be at least 2 ingredients, and NO, ice doesn’t count.

As Peggy Olson said, "You need three ingredients for a cocktail. Mountain Dew and vodka is an emergency."

What’s your favorite snack?

If I’m being healthy it’s apple slices with almond butter. If I’m not, it’s Cheetos :dup:

If you really want to go off the rails the jalapeno doritos and the medium salsa con queso they sell everywhere is a dangerous combination. Seems like the jalapeno doritos are gone from Target now which is ridiculous cuz they were the best flavor by far.

My new work schedule (anywhere within a 4PM to 4AM range) and the societal shutdown has allowed me to focus more on reading again. Have re-read "The Outsider" and "Doctor Sleep" by Stephen King and Jules Verne's "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" & "The Mysterious Island" over the past couple weeks.

Mine is probably Red Velvet Oreos. Dot’s Pretzels and the spicier Takis aren’t far behind

For healthier snacks I really like Zone and Cliff Bars. Usually the straight chocolate ones

My favorite is plain old vanilla bean. The Haagen Dazs and Breyers natural vanilla bean are the best.

But I will eat anything - unless it is chocolate based or has chocolate syrup in it.

I can also eat a lot of it. It is routine to have a pint for dinner, and another for dessert. LoL

For snacks, most anything sweet/salty will work. However, ice cream is my biggest kryptonite. We have gelato on sale at the store this week, so on our break this evening we'll be stocking up.

Best ice cream I’ve ever had is banana macadamia nut from Izzy’s. Unfortunately it’s availability is rare.
