I would take TV shows. I didn’t get into music until I was in college in Madison so for me, while I love listening to it, I could go without. While I am working at the lake when no one else is here, I could blast music or have the TV on...I always have the TV on.
What was the first car you owned?
What athlete(s) would you liked to have watch in their prime?
I was fortunate to see them play live a few times during their warm-up 'season' but I would have loved to have been in Lake Placid to see the 1980 Olympic hockey tournament in person.
First car was a 1986 Mazda 626.

2002 Subaru Legacy GT. is the first I owned and coincidently still drive.
First car I drove everyday was a 2000 Honda Odyssey.

What was the first car you owned?
First car I had (16th birthday present) was a white Buick sky hawk with a Pontiac front bumper. It had red velvety seats with cigarette holes in them.
First car I purchased on my own was a new 2011 Dodge Avenger, still my daily vehicle.
1956 Chevy four door I bought in 1974 for $50. I had the biggest steering wheel of anything I ever have driven. Also the had bad rust around the front headlights and the front floorboards. Picked up two front fenders from a farmer in North Dakota and riveted some sheet metal to patch the floorboards to keep from getting wet.
Upgraded to a 1964 Chevy stepside pickup that I drove through most of high school.
1966 Mustang. Yeah, I should have kept it.
First drove a Chevy Corsica and then Plymouth Breeze. First I owned and drive everyday now is Subaru Outback.
A red, 2door hard top '60 Impala w/ a straight 6, glasspack muffler. Shifter from the factory was 3 on the tree that became a Hurst 3 on the floor with a fifth under the seat, to use a 1969 play on words. Seat was a bench too.
Spring before HS graduation I got my '65 Goat. Man I went through a lot of tires and only 1 clutch with that baby.

First car was a 1986 Mazda 626.
Mine was a 1987 Mazda 323. Big mistake was getting a 4 speed manual instead of upgrading to a 5 speed manual
I rode motorcycles and buses until I bought a '72 Pinto. Never got rear ended so never burst into flames. Then a '81 Mazda 626 first new car - I wanted an RX-7 and could have afforded it, but couldn't cover the insurance as a single young man in SF Bay Area.
My first car was a 1980 Chevy Monza that cost $500 bucks and had rust everywhere. It ran OK but the biggest thing I remember was needing to keep a screwdriver in the car to open the butterfly valve when the car wouldn't start. There were times in high school where I was glad to drive my parent's minivan over that thing.
The 1993 Ford Festiva I bought before I left to college was a dream compared to that Monza. It didn't hurt that my ROTC stipend covered the monthly payments so I only had to worry about gas and insurance.

When my grandpa died my parents bought his car from my Grandma (she never learned to drive). It was a 1978 Mercury Zephyr. Roll up windows and vinyl seats. You honestly could get second degree burns from those seats in the summer if you left the windows up.

Those early GTO’s were awesome. Didn’t care to much for them after they changed the body style in the late 60’s.
I think it was in '68 that they went to The Judge type.
My first car was a 1979 Thunderbird. It was the same body as the Lincoln with a different rear side window. In other words it was massive. And it had vacuum powered headlight covers. I honestly think I would buy one today if my wife would let me. She won't....
I loved that car, but about six months after buying it a bolt flew through the drive shaft and the repair cost more than I paid for the car.
A silver blue hatchback Horizon. LOL, it was a piece of *#@$ but I loved it because it was my first car that was all mine.

My first car was a brown 1982 Plymouth Reliant K. The kind of car where you fill up the oil and check the gas when you stop at the service station.
First car was a 1967 BMW 1600. Bought used with 70,000 miles for $900. Way back then there were very few BMW's in the State; most people thought they only made motorcycles.

On Gophers football and Twins I also have immediate thoughts of Ray Christensen and Halsey Hall/Herb Carniel, but they're media. Back in the day - before there were 5,000 media choices - it seemed like everyone had them on the radio. I would also throw in the Wooger for gopher hockey consideration.

Where do you get your news? I’m not looking to debate the perceived bias of different news organizations. I’m more interested in the type of media you get your news from? Tv, radio, internet, social media, etc.
I haven’t watched local tv news in at least two years. I mostly get my news by following local and national news sites on Twitter. I do subscribe to the print version of Star Tribune and Sunday Pioneer Press.
Newspaper, TV, Internet.
Twitter and Facebook, duh.
