Does anyone have any idea of what to expect for ticket prices?
I am hoping to get the family to one or two games but today I see tickets to USA vs Switzerland are $180+ per seat. It also appears they are not selling tickets in the upper level. I assume they are trying to keep the pricing artificially high by only selling lower bowl first.
Will they eventually release the upper level tickets?
Im not exactly looking for USA vs Canada in the Olympics here. It’s GD Switzerland and it’s U20. I got as hoping to buy my kids tickets for an Xmas present but I’m not paying $800 to watch this and I’m not going to wait for Mid-December to hope for upper level seats for $120 each either.
The NYE game was about 175 per seat, and the game the 27th was 140 or so.
I wouldn't hold my breath on cheaper/upper-deck tickets opening up until the lower bowl and club level both sell out.
Was doing some snooping; if anyone wants a decent deal on the medal round games, there’s literally a dozen seats left in club that are $315 (all-in price); this is for both semis and both medal games Jan. 4 and 5.
The “cheap” seats are on the ends, row 5 or above (I think C11, 18, 38 are the only ones with some left).
Move to row 4 or lower in club (on the ends) and they jump to $595. Club seats along the side (of which there are also only a handful left) are $695.
Lower level will cost you $415-820 a seat.

Did anyone get tix for any of the games at Mariucci? I got an email with a Black Friday bogo for the world junior prelims and quarterfinals but when I look at the prices for the games at Mariucci I don’t feel like they are any cheaper? I could be wrong but just curious if they jacked up the prices for some of these games before offering half off….
Supposedly there’s a World Junior Tournament store at the Mall of America. Pretty nice selection merch and pucks.
I went to the Summer Showcase games at Ridder. Sweden definitely looked good and played well, but they play chippy and will take a lot of penalties.
They were selling tickets packages even back then. They have been marketing this everywhere. I have even seen billboard ads up in Brainerd.
Most likely I will go to at least a couple of games. I would think that you would be able to get tickets even on most game days.
Scratch that idea, those tickets are expensive. Most likely I will just watch a few games at a sports bar.

it really sucks that an event like this is so profit driven, and I totally understand why it is. But I don't know many casual fans who are able to spend hundreds of dollars per ticket to go watch these games. I'd love to go, but there is no way I'd pay that much money to do so. But if they can sell out the big games at those prices, then why not.

Yea, it's hard to convince my friends who are casual hockey fans to spend $50 to watch Finland vs Latvia...
I think I fall into the category of one of the die-hards, and even there, I only got tickets for two USA games then the championship round (Semis/Bronze/Gold games) Figuring it's likely I'll never get a realistic opportunity to see the World Juniors in person made it doable for me, and I'm in a good financial position in my life, but, even there, these were some spicy prices.
The world juniors have been a bucket list item for me and my wife for a long time. We bought full passes and I took the time off of work. The price was painful but this is a one time thing. If we traveled and stay somewhere else it would have cost more.
It is likely I will be listing some of the tickets here as we can't be in St Paul and at the Mariucci at the same time.

I got tickets as well but partly because I want to sell some of them and attend for slightly cheaper (and I will prob be out of town the 31st/1st). The pre-tournament games here in Mankato are on sale for $20 right now. The Mavericks play Switzerland on the 16th and Denmark plays Canada on the 23rd.

the issue is that this is a draft-driven event, they know many if not most of these tickets are gonna be expensed to team scouting budgets

The arenas for this event have thousands of seats. Realistically what's the max number of scouts attending say a US vs Canada game - 100? If that.
