I don't think there will be, because most have committed already. I don't know the exact details about if someone were to sign if they would have to sit out or not. It would be a case by case basis.

He won't be eligible to play for another team this year if that's what you're saying. But if you're saying for the future, yes I agree.

Is there a deadline for transferring and still playing this season?

That is a good question. For the U, you must be enrolled by Jan 17th or 18th I believe to be eligible. But, can a player just up and leave a team in the middle of a season and go to a new team? That would really seem fishy. Could you imagine if when we play Alaska next week and we lure one of their players to stay and play the rest of the year for the Gophers? Or Alabama loses a QB and calls up a QB from another team to step in right away?

Maybe a dumb Q, but why do guys enter the portal now?

Just because they are entering does not mean they can't play for their team after them entering, it just means that they will be seeking to move somewhere else. So like those Ivy League schools don't allow Grad Players so they have to move on after the season.
