ROBERT STUCKER University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
Oh snap. Well, the playing time probably wasn't going to be there unless someone else leaves.
JOHN SCHULDT University of Nebraska Omaha
WILLIAM CULLEN Bowling Green State University
Two options to replace Stucker since Mittelstadt is not ready to come in. One a depth Minnesotan guy that probably has money for a partial scholarship and one that could break the top 6.
NOAH GANSKE Northern Michigan University
Another option to replace Stucker/Rossini as a depth Minnesotan guy and huge, and would be the first Jaguar in a looooong time.
ROBERT STUCKER University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
He's an able enough depth defenseman, but I don't consider this much of a loss for this team.
It would have been a loss for some of the former "free Sadek" teams, but he would have been a featured player on those teams and wouldn't have a need to enter the portal.
Ya, Stucker was not good.
He ran the power play better 2 seasons ago at the helm than how it was this year with him not at the helm.

That just shows something is terribly wrong with how the PP has been designed to run lately.
With Stucker leaving, that pretty much means that the rest of the d men will return.

If the Gopher power play was dependent on Stucker, the coaches should all be fired.
Faber, LaCombe, Koster and Johnson are all better power play candidates, in my opinion - they all show superior lateral movement on the blue line. I felt the power play this season was operating fine on the back end. I do, however, find a lot of room for improvement from the forwards. Ranta, for example, was a human puck clearing machine, and with his loss maybe the power play will improve. It has to.
My blindfolded guesses on where the former Gophers end up--
Munson-- St Thomas
Rossini -- St Thomas
Weber -- Bemidji St
McManus -- Az St or Mich St
Stucker -- Bowling Green

I think we might see 1 more forward entering portal...
Who? Brodzy to SCSU?

Has Weber officially entered the portal? I mean I totally saw it happening at some point I must’ve missed it.

Earlier this year I guessed maybe 22 would enter the portal because it appeared that he and tBob were not on the same page. But others pointed out, his family loves tBob and he seemed to turn the corner the 2nd half. That then leaves 11, 18, & 21. 18 isn't a Motzko recruit, but his dad has ties to the U. Both 11 and 21 were Motzko recruits, and maybe 21 would want to go back to Az to play. Don't we all love speculation?

Yes. I believe it was on March 30th

Nevers was a Motzko recruit. His first commit. Motzko’s comments have been very positive on him. Would imagine Burke is most likely, but who knows.

Thanks. I just assumed all of those Edina kids were a package deal.

I would have no problem with Fish being the #7 defense, if tBob chooses to go that way. The last few games of the season he went with a 13th forward instead. While Fish may not be as agile as Stucker, his positioning was pretty good and he is definitely a physical presence on the ice.
I think dressing 7 D is highly prefered especially if the Gophers can start to play a more physical game and D might be at risk to get kicked out a time or two.
I think they were dressing 13F at the end cuz McManus was banged up.

2 years ago we eventually just went with 5 forwards, I think he might've been on the second unit but I never really was sure why other than he had a hard shot. Always kinda seemed weird that he was looked at as some sort of PP "specialist" yet wasn't trusted to play many 5v5 minutes.
UMass Lowell coach not too pleased bout the transfer portal.

Imagine how the BG coach feels
Wondering whether Max Johnson signs a pro deal or plays a 5th year & where he might land, as a 100+ point career scorer.

Nice, Max’s Dad is a former Badger football player. ?
I added a list of Gophers in the Transfer Portal to the main GPL Portal page. Give me a heads up if there are any additions or if anyone is claimed.

For those of you more connected - have the coaches given off any vibes they are looking at the portal at all? Not looking for name but curious if they're actively looking.
I do not understand why you list players who go into transfer portal with out listing where they are moving to or getting the extra year at their school, regarding all teams in NCAA hockey transfer portal
Aloha!

What? We have basically the best list anywhere on the internet.
When they enter the portal they don't list where they are going to...

I only have access to the list of people who enter the portal. It only says where their leaving and never says where they end up. Like in Moe's case he already committed to Wisconsin but it still says he active in the portal. So its only a tool for kids saying they're leaving somewhere and not where they end up.

I need to just start guessing landing spots since I'm already guessing about them leaving. :ahhh:

A lot of these MN guys will go to UST
Blasi in his presser did not seem to want to tap a lot of the transfers. Undoubtedly there will be some.

You can't build a team with guys that have one or two years of eligibility left. They are not eligible for the NCAA Tournament for 5 years. So it is not a great place to go right now if you are in the portal.

Interesting. ASU made it in year 4, and I was not aware of anything barring them had they been better before that.
Here is the difference.
ASU as a school is already D1, UST is NOT... So as school moving to D1 in all sports, has to wait 5 years to be eligible for post season play. So a school like ASU or Penn State... As a school. they have been D1 forever. So adding a sport and moving them to D1 is a different deal than St. Thomas.

Out of curiosity what is the rationale for the long wait to be eligible for postseason play?
I can see UST adding a few transfers for this next year, but really start building the recruits after that.

I have no idea... But it will apply for all sports the St. Thomas is participating in.
