We’re (usually) better defensively than Michigan, especially tonight. We’ve also got more forward depth in my opinion. Perets scares me though, I’ll admit.

The best part of the 3rd was how Q knew exactly what Michigan was going to do on every rush so they just had a guy skate right to the spot and intercept the pass and just kill Michigan's momentum. Outside of the PP Michigan was a ghost most of the 3rd.

As someone who sat 5 seats away from that band, I approve this message.Playing for the national championship stands on its own, but not having to hear Michigan's band all game long will certainly make for a more enjoyable viewing experience.

What a meltdown from Portillo and Michigan. Portillo was just slow and off. The third goal he just sat in his butterfly for a second doing nothing. Gave the Q player time to bank it off him. Michigan defense gave up so many odd man rushes. It’s like they didn’t respect the offense and didn’t try to play defense.
Before the games today, had you told me Minnesota vs Quinnipiac in the championship I would have been pretty excited and confident they'd take it home.
Quinnipiac looked much better today than they did in the regionals IMO. The way they countered Michigan's attack was better than I ever thought they'd be able to do. I'm not necessarily scared of them because I think Minnesota is a more complete team than Michigan, but I definitely expected Michigan to score more than twice against Q.
Gophers better bring it early and often Saturday.

He's a talent but he has cocky punch-me face and should learn to shut his pie hole. Can't say I'm sad he's out.
MN needs to shut down the east coast bias on Saturday night....will have to do it against another much older team.

Your disappointment may be the same but the games aren't even on the same plane.
The game on Saturday will be like playing a more talented Mankato or St. ?. It will be top-gun skill versus structure hockey. Young versus old. NHL bound versus nary a chance.
Minnesota couldn't get it done against Mankato last season in the same type of game but the Mavs couldn't do it twice in a row. We'll see if Q can...here's to hoping Minnesota can grind out a couple early goals to make Q chase them.

I have to admit that up until the OSU game, number two seed or not, I had my doubts about QU. Those were mostly put to rest against the buckeyes, and definitely gone entirely after watching last night. Yes, they feasted on a weak schedule, but they did what good teams do in that situation.. rack up wins.They were literally ranked number 2 and just beat Michigan...

Re: hobey, I get that the talking heads who don't watch the Gophers every game might be surprised about Knies given his points, but honestly as much as I love Cooley I think he's the surprising gopher include in the final 3.
Knies deserves to be there and IMO he deserves to win. Lots of weird takes about him being the 3rd best player on his line... Like, have those people watched him play at all? Cooley and snuggerud are spectacular, but Knies is the glue that makes that line go. He's as complete a player as I can remember.
Knies is a bull in a china closet but with skill to go with it. I wouldn't trade him for anybody.
Thats a perfect description, a bull for sure, you can't get that kid off the puck with just 1 defender no way. He drives the net hard and in corners always comes away with the puck, great stuff by Knies!

I was going to put that it wasn't going to be Largen but it seemed a little "I know something you don't know"
All I've heard is that they have a coach but aren't going to announce it until the beginning of the week. The people I know might now who it is but are being tight lipped. It's a good sign for the incoming coach that they got a transfer from Denver, Tyler Haskins, who is a Rochester native.

I've watched every game that the kid has played. He's an outstanding college hockey player. IMO he's the 3rd best player on that line, although I wouldn't argue too strongly with anyone who thinks he's better than Snuggerud.
