Over the past 8 seasons North Dakota has 1 NCAA tournament win. It was in 2021 against American International. They missed the tournament 3 times (2018, 2019, and 2023). The 2020 tournament was canceled. Their losses were to BU in 2017, Duluth in 2021, Notre Dame in 2022, and Michigan in 2024.

Now they can prepare for flood season. Back in 2011 after UND lost to Michigan in the semifinals. Only then was it important enough for their fans to head home and start filling sandbags. I bleed maroon and gold. Though if there was flooding going on. I would be out filling bags to protect the homestead over going to the Frozen Four.

My son played against him in a summer hockey league, he was the smallest player, because he was playing ‘up’, this was 10th graders and he was 8th or 9th grade and he was a mouthy, cocky little sh!t. This little kid among taller, stronger players and he is yapping away and non stop taunting. One of our players placed his hand on top of his head to show him how much smaller he was and his entire team surrounded him and pulled him off. It didn’t turn into anything, our players were laughing at him.

I had Michigan as the most dangerous lower-half seed in the tournament so the result from last night was unsurprising. The Fighting Portals (nice job, GE 😆 ) were playing a team that doesn't quit and can score in bunches. Michigan took over the game in the third period and UND could only watch.
A Michigan-BC game would be epic, but I'm hoping Minnesota can play clamp-down to spoil it.

Early game today is certainly a defensive showdown. Real chess match between the blue lines. It really impresses me how comfortable Denver looks playing any style needed to give themselves a chance.

Denver on their way to St Paul. Really impressed with David Carle, what a class guy. Cornell coach was kind of hillbilly. Kind of strange since Cornell is such a high ranked academic institution. Nothing against Denver.

Cornell guy knocked the stick out of the guys hand, an easy call. If the stick isn't impacted it's not called but the dumbass made it a no brainer call, and it wasn't embellished.

Well now that the beloved are donezo, I suppose seeing Nightingale & MSU win the whole thing wouldn’t be half bad… also, kind of poetic too since they were the last B1G school to win & would be the first team to win since the league’s formation
I'm thinking MSU. Wouldn't it be something if the one team that has struggled the most to find its footing since realignment ends up being the first in the conference to win it all?

He is a very good coach
Denver seems to strike a balance between sandpaper and skill. They are well-coached and can win in different ways. I thought I heard that in every win this season they hit the 3-goal mark, except in this tournament. They won anyway.
I was hoping Minnesota would be that team this year. In January and February, they were, but unlike Denver, who found a way to win, the Gophers surrendered a 2-goal lead.
