BC and Mass. Lowell tie 3-3, UML gets the extra point via the shootout.
Omaha goes on the road and beats St. Cloud 4-3 in OT.
Omaha has now won 3 straight and 4 of their last 5 games outscoring their opponents 21-9.
They are now #38 out 64 in Pairwise. Last season they were #11.
The talk about losing to Omaha being huge in our Pairwise is starting to turn out to be very premature. Losing in OT (in a 3 on 3 - so .33 out of 1) to a team that could finish in the top 25-30 (maybe higher) is not impactful.
Arizona State sweeps Duluth. Duluth is now 5-10 (2-6 in the NCHC) this season. They are 7-19-1 in their last 27 games.
The past three seasons when the NCHC had 8 teams they finished 5th, 5th, and 7th. The conference now has 9 teams and they are in 8th place.
4 of their 5 wins this season are against #59 Stonehill and #61 Miami, OH
There are 64 teams in D1
Michigan State beats Bucky in 3x3 OT. Howard from Stamel (late in OT). Those two also started in OT. Stramel clearly experiencing breath of fresh air playing for Sparty! Obviously same can be said for ex Bulldog Howard…
Jan Brady State beats Omaha 5-2

This was actually Pitlick's 7th goal.
He leads the Purple Cows in goals, assists (9), points (16), game winning goals (4), and power play goals (3)
He is 2nd in +/- at +11. The team leader is +12.

He drew the penalty that set up that power play too.

No. 11 BU gets shutout at home by Mass. Amherst, 4-0
BU had 46 penalty minutes in the game, including 2 majors + 10 min misconduct.

kind of amazing they called that a penalty on UMD
Not really, it was a legit Delay of Game call. The extended wait letting 4 different ASU players to stab him with their sticks trying to kick it loose, that was stupid and dangerous. As badly as I think the refs did for us this weekend, that's even worse. So on brand

B1G refs... corrupt, or just incompetent?
Not only is that an obvious delay of game penalty, but they let Duluth get away with multiple interference and multiple crosscheck penalties. It's not the referees job to protect players from themselves. I bet the official told the Duluth player multiple times to get off the puck or was going to go. You don't get to dive on top of a loose puck and the slot and then complain about guys trying to dig it out.
If the moron announcers want something to wine about, cry about the garbage brand of hockey that Sandelin continues to teach.
I do think they needed to blow the whistle sooner. Is he going to take a couple pokes right away? Of course. But, the refs let it go too long. I'm not suggesting that there should have been any penalty on ASU there, just that it was obvious pretty quick that he wasn't getting up, so, you blow the whistle and send him to the box.

looked like the asu guy shot it into him but if he grabbed it, then yeah that’s an immediate penalty but you blow that dead instantly
Doesn't matter how it got there, intentionally laying on the puck is a penalty. Can't blow the whistle immediately because you have to allow for the player to recognize what is happening and get off the puck. Not only is that an obvious delay of game penalty, but they let Duluth get away with multiple interference and multiple crosscheck penalties. He certainly let it go longer than he needed to, but there's absolutely nothing for UMD to be bitching about on that play. They got off lucky
You don't blow it instantly... but, it was clear after the first couple pokes that he wasn't going to get up. That's the point you blow the whistle and send him to the sin bin.

A top 10 matchup tonight with UMass Lowell @ BC at 6pm on ESPN+ and NESN. BC has played on a Sun, Mon, Tues, Weds, Fri and Sat so far this year. Imagine the outrage if the Gophers had that kind of schedule.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.

Because no Thursday games?

It's crazy how many times the east coast teams do this. A couple of weeks ago, BC played 3 games in 5 days.
BTW, BC up 3-2 in the 2nd.

@frozen4champs Prefer Friday and Saturday games, but wouldn't mind more weekday games if they could keep their recent Sunday through Thursday success going...
Last 5 Monday games: 5-0-0 dating back to 2014
Last 15 Tuesday games: 15-0-0 dating back to 1974
Last 14 Wednesday games: 11-2-1 dating back to 1977
Last 11 Thursday games: 8-3-0 dating back to 2020
Last 17 Sunday games: 14-3-0 dating back to 2016
26-7-0 under Motzko on those days
Have to give Michigan's PR person an A for effort with this spin in their weekly game notes. No mention on last weeks results or the fact that one of their players is suspended for 1 game this weekend either.
• In the lopsided Big Ten standings, in terms of games played, Michigan sits tied for fourth place with 11 points in six games, the least played by a Big Ten team to date. Wisconsin has played four more games than Michigan and has 15 points in 10 games, the most league games played.

Badgers up 3-0 on the cheap ass Wolverines after 2.
The first goal was scored on the power play after Estapa took a penalty. The second goal was scored short handed. Not a good 2nd period for the children of the corn. Michigan after out shooting Bucky 8-5 in the 1st period were out shot 18-5 in the 2nd period.
Michigan is on the verge of being shutout for the third straight game. 3-0 with about 3 minutes left.
Michigan cheap shotting again lol. Unbelievable. The fact that Narauto isn’t shutting it down and yelling at his team is disgusting
Michigan shut out again?
Apparently that was the Badgers first shutout in Ann Arbor. EVER.
Denver was up 3-0 with 5 minutes to go in the 2nd period but Colorado College scored 5 straight goals and won 5-4. The shots on goal were CC 39-29. The expected goals were CC 4.5 Denver 3.2
The BADgers have played 6 Big Ten overtime games this season and are 1-5. None of the six have gone to a shoot out.
Clearly coach Hastings doesn't know how to coach 3 on 3. 😉
Seems reasonable given this weekend's results.

sounds like a pretty lackluster and tasteless one
I bet they get a bigger crowd than ours did…😂
