The Wolves didn't land in the top 3 of the lottery so the Warriors get the pick. #7 overall.

Had to laugh hearing that listening to the Power Trip this morning.

The Woodmutts have enough talent.

Now they need to play as a team and make a commitment to true team defense.

I am not optimistic.

On the bright side, I've heard the draft is only 6 players deep so pick #7 is an even bigger crapshoot. I'd feel way worse if we had to give the #4 pick to Golden State.

Are no draft picks the remaining remnants of the Joe Smith collusion situation?

I heard on the Power Trip this morning that last nights LAC/PHX game. The last 1:30 seconds took over 30 actual minutes.

That’s one of the many reasons why I don’t watch the NBA until the Finals.

The last 9.2 seconds (I shut off my xbox right when the big play when Beverly tipped the ball and it was still touching Booker's hand after Beverly tipped it so it was out of bounds on Booker). Between that review, then the foul on Paul George and his 2 missed FTs, followed by a Phoenix timeout, followed by a missed 3pt shot tipped OB followed by another lengthy review to determine it was still Phoenix ball, followed by the alley oop to Ayton and another lengthy review to reset the clock... it was about 17 minutes to play 9 seconds.

Yeah pretty much. Winning as much as they did down the stretch bumped their odds to getting a top 4 pick to not very good.

There are going to be some decent options available at 7 but not super likely to have a huge impact immediately.

Cunningham, Mobley, Green, and Suggs figure to be top 4 (probably in that order).

5-6-7 will probably be some combination of Scottie Barnes (Florida State), Jonathan Kuminga (G League Ignite), and Jalen Johnson (Duke).

Kuminga is the big wildcard. He was the #1 rated recruit in his class before reclassifying and going to the G League where he did not play very well.

Barnes is a sketchy shooter, especially from outside, but he's a high level defender on the wing and a very good passer.

Johnson was the guy I am most intrigued by. He's a pretty good ball handler and has good defensive abilities. If he can develop an outside shot, Golden State would be a great fit.

At least they get to keep next year's pick, so I'm sure they'll come out ahead in the deal.

By the by, anybody want to take a guess at which two players from last year's draft finished tied for first in Value Over Replacement Player out of their draft class, way ahead of anyone else, and which player finished 44th out of the 55 drafted players that played last year?

I have to say the Valley-Oop (I think that’s what they’re calling it) was sick.

Believe it or not, old school defensive battle in game 4 of the PHO/LAC series. Looked like a Bulls/Jordan playoff game. Unfortunately some bad missed calls by the refs but some wild situations in the last minute.

This game is REALLY not going well for the Bucks

I know there is way more to it but I’ll stand by my statement, if the Milwaukee Bucks can make the finals the Wolves have no excuses.

It’s been 47 years since their last Finals appearance.

They still have been one of the three most consistent teams in the league last handful of seasons, have their star locked in for many years, have built a supporting cast around him, have a state of the art arena, have the now mandatory outside the arena area where fans gather and add to the atmosphere. I just think so many believe Minnesota will never be a spot that will succeed in the NBA, I disagree, it’s been much more about mismanagement of the Wolves than location, and the Bucks are proving that making good decisions will lead you somewhere in the NBA, location be damned.

OKC thought the same thing.

Locking up a star in the NBA is not really a thing. If Kevin Garnett or Jimmy Butler want out, they seem to get their way.

Milwaukee is gonna be tough to beat if Holliday gives them 27 & 13 but the Suns made it close

Giannis somehow steps up his game even more but the rest of the Bucks not doing squat....down by 5 at the half. Coverage is claiming there’s 60K people outside the arena and there may be...it’s a sea of fans.

Giannis is absolutely incredible.

I have no idea what fouls they are calling. The announcers even disagree on the calls. Bucks look like they are going to put this one away. 2:25 left

I was there, good times. The main screen people were watching (the main sea of ppl you see on TV) went out for a few mins and it was already tough to see that one, but it forced us to move which paid off, we got to the side section by the bars and had a perfect view of a diff big screen for the fourth quarter.

Is it really that crazy to think if the Milwaukee effin Bucks can win an NBA title that the local team also could pull it off?

First.....

You have to get super lucky with the right lottery pick and hope you catch lightning in a bottle before the prima donna side kicks implode. Garnett almost got them to the finals.

Admittedly I don’t watch a ton of bball…but some of the blocks he had last night. Damn!! What a monster. Dropping 50 to win a title is Jordan-esque.

I then you see highlights of his interviews showing that he is a really good guy.

He was on Instagram live or something this morning and went to Chic Fil A and ordered 50 chicken nuggets. It was hilarious.

Just can't get into the NBA any more. Basketball was my sport from youth through high school. Just no care for the NBA at all. It's not basketball anymore. I'll watch highlights on the news or the game is on at a restaurant. Watching it just gives me a headache. I see violation after violation and nothing called. No wonder the youth these days don't have basic fundamentals. They watch this stuff and want to mimic it all.

I still to day, can watch an afternoon of college basketball and enjoy it. I especially enjoy going to Vegas and sitting in the sports bet room or private table for opening round of the NCAA's. It's great entertainment.

When I was a kid (born 67) and at least until the first few years of the Wolvws, in college I was an avid.NBA fan. But at some.point the league became a huge afterthought, and while I still appreciate the athleticism the league itself bores me to tears.

Not impossible, the bucks got a bit lucky to get a top 5 NBA player at pick fifteen in the draft. The pieces around him aren’t bad but he carried the team by any metric and the Suns just didn’t have an answer or an equivalent player who could also put up fifty points (and twenty in a quarter twice, not to mention his defensive impact).

I've got a year on you and am sort of the same. I used to LOVE the NBA back in the early 80's. I was a big fan of the 76ers (Dr. J, Moses Malone, etc). Once the late 80's hit I started to lose interest and I'm to the point that I have almost no interest in the NBA anymore. I still like following the draft but I honestly haven't watched a minute of an NBA game in a long time.

That said, I do think it was great to have to non-perennial contenders vying for the title this year and especially great to have a smaller market team win it all.

Wolves trade former first round (#6 overall) Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez to Memphis for Patrick Beverley. One of everybody's least favorite players.

Ha, I thought Beverly was they guy who tried to fight half the western conference last playoffs.

I don't follow too closely but if he's a good defender why not? I believe the Wolves are sorely lacking that and toughness?

He is. He's a frequent target of scorn among players on the league for borderline (or blatantly dirty) plays.

In the playoffs he threw an elbow into Chris Paul's ribs, shoved him from behind after a game, and headbutted Devin Booker.

Not high. Not zero, but not high.

I think if Philly does trade him, the Wolves are probably one of the 2-3 most likely destinations but I'm still expecting him to be in Philly this season as of now.

If they do trade for him it likely means DLo has to go to Philly. And the Wolves have talked all summer about building a team around DLo, KAT, and Ant.

So the other option would be Beasley, McDaniels, Beverly, and like 7 first round picks? I don't envision that being a good enough package to lure Philly in if they are trying to compete still.

Original commentary was PHI wanted way, way too much for him. Wolves could use him but they're not in rebuild mode. Yet.

I don’t follow the NBA and only blurbs on talk radio hear and there. Though if Simmons is refusing to come to training camp, his trade value can’t be to high.

It's not impossibly high but Philly will still be able to play teams against each other.

If the Wolves were to make a move for him we'd likely have to include a third team in the trade. Maybe a team like Washington? We send Beverly to Philly, Washington sends Beal to Philly, Wolves send McDaniel, Beasley, and Balmero and 3-4 first round picks to Washington, Philly sends Simmons to MN.

Then Wolves would get to keep DLo, Ant, and KAT and still add Simmons and have a formidable top 4.

I dunno how that would work out contract wise though
