Edwards 0-10 from 3 how is that possible
Love Gobert dominating
In the playoffs last year the Wolves swept Phoenix lead by Kevin Durant (multiple time champion) and Devin Booker (lead his team to the 2021 NBA finals) and then knocked out the defending champion Denver Nuggets (the Joker and Jamal Murray) winning game 7 on the road with the largest game 7 comeback in league history.
This year they get revenge against Luka and may have just ended LeBron's career. It wouldn't surprise me if he retires. He got to play with his son this season which was the last thing on his bucket list.
If Golden State wins game 6 or game 7 against Houston we next get a chance to face Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler.
The Wolves are now 8-3 on the road in the playoffs over the past two years.
The Wolves out scored the Lakers in every 4th quarter in the series (+42 in total)
Game 1 +6
Game 2 +7
Game 3 +10
Game 4 +13
Game 5 +6
Crunch Time is Wolves Time!!!!!
The Wolves continue to knock out the NBA greats.
Just nice to shut up that whiny little bitch Luka! 😜
Before the series started a lot of the "expert" had the Lakers winning in 5.
Well they got the number of games right. 😉 😀
He’s Special!! ANT inspires & praises his teammates & it’s genuine.
Julius Randle appears to be having the time of his life playing in fly over country☝️
😊finch needs to realize we are infinitely better on offense not playing Rudy in this series from the jump. It leads to stagnant iso ball and no one is in flow. It doesn’t play to our advantages in this series at all
You were saying. 😉 😊

this was prior to JJ deciding to run a lineup of guys who are vastly smaller and bad rebounders instead of Hayes until Rudy gets fouls coupled with doubling Ant because despite going small, they’re horrible perimeter defenders. Rudy was fantastic last night but my god what a dumb gameplan for the lakers. If we don’t shoot a historically bad night from 3, we win by 30+
that being said, once again, you still have to be special to punish a team for doing that and Rudy was last night
They mentioned last night the Wolves missed 18 consecutive 3 pt shots.... Holy Hell!
As a team, they were 7-47 from 3 (14%).
The players not named Randle or Gobert shot about 25% from inside the 3 pt line. There were a lot of terrible shooting performances last night. Thankfully Randle and Gobert came to play.
As much as I dislike Luka, I felt for him when it looked like he was having back spasms. I couldn't imagine having to play a game with spasm. I've had them many times over the years and I could barely lay flat in a bed.
The way Luka complains to the refs is beyond ridiculous. And U have a short memory the way Luka taunted the TWolve Fans last year. Based on those 2 district factors…so pleased TWolves took down that whiny little B- OTCSH! Go Wolves! And Luka needs to get in better physical condition too.

LaBron is undisputed top 5 all time, but he’s now 40, old as f-cK for an athlete & Luka is just sic offensively, but a liability on D. And even an old hockey defenseman knows that without a BIG to protect the rim & haul down rebounds, a team is vulnerable to drivers & offensive rebound put backs. Go Twolves!
I can't really find much sympathy for Luka's pain when it's a product of him sending himself hurtling towards the hardwood to try and draw a foul every single time he touches the ball..
I think he is a whiny biotch but that's no reason to wish severe pain on someone.I can't really find much sympathy for Luka's pain when it's a product of him sending himself hurtling towards the hardwood to try and draw a foul every single time he touches the ball..
I can hate the guy without wishing severe pain on him. I can take pleasure in their loss and him having live with the reputation of being a whiny wuss who has to cheat to win.The way Luka complains to the refs is beyond ridiculous. Correct. And U have a short memory the way Luka taunted the TWolve Fans last year. Nah. This is wrong. Based on those 2 district factors…so pleased TWolves took down that whiny little B- OTCSH! Go Wolves! And Luka needs to get in better physical condition too.

I don’t think any of us on GPL wish severe pain on anyone…back pain is nothing to scoff at, thank God I don’t have it. But separately, there’s no excuse for the way Luka conducts himself on the 🏀 court, it results in Luka having a very punchable Mug! lolThe

TEAM WIN. Love the wolves!! Let’s go.
His photo was similar enough to yours I thought it was you! I obviously didn’t look at the moniker. Ha!We know what you meant, Dan.wish severe pain on someone.
I don't recollect saying I'm wishing pain on anyone.
I just have trouble finding too much sympathy with how he carries himself.
There's a difference.
Hey leave me out of this! 🫨🤪
Aloha!
Golden State wins Game 7 vs. Houston. Wolves host Golden State tomorrow in Game 1.
Keep your stick on the ice...
The way Randle has played since returning from his injury has been an absolute revelation. Early on in his tenure here it felt like he was playing to "get his" and damn everyone else. I can't remember who it was on the interview but he said basically while he was recovering he watched back every game to see what he was doing in relation to the team and realized he was a problem. He adjusted his approach to be a better fit for the rest of the team, trusting that they'd get him involved and take advantage of his ridiculous talent level but it wasn't going to be every possession or every game. He basically reinvented himself to fit in with Ant/Jaden/NAW/Conley/Rudy/Jaden/Donte. It has been truly spectacular. His shooting percentage has increased, his assists/game total has increased, his turnovers/game has decreased.
Since he returned the Wolves have won 21 of their last 26 games IIRC.
If he continues to play this way he is a MASSIVE problem for opposing teams. He's a solid 3pt shooter (34-35% this season) so teams have to try to close out on him on the wing, but if they close out he can beat them to the rim on the dribble. The change I've noticed is if he gets doubled when he tries to drive the lane he doesn't just bury his shoulder into the defender and try to muscle his way to the hoop. He kicks out to a wing or dishes to a cutting teammate that now has the open lane off the double. It took a while for him to buy in, and during that stretch it looked like the Wolves torpedoed their chances at a western conference championship and a trip to the finals when they traded KAT for Randle and DiVincenzo. But credit where credit is due, Randle has overhauled his game to fit the team and all of a sudden the Wolves look like an exceptionally dangerous threat to the west.
I'm of the belief that Golden State is an extremely under-seeded 7 seed (they were 21-7 after the Jimmy Butler trade). I'm not surprised they beat Houston at all. I'm just surprised it took 7 games. Them knocking out Houston means the Wolves get home court advantage for the series, but I also think this is a tougher matchup. It certainly doesn't lack for entertaining storylines.
Draymond spent all of last post-season ripping Gobert to shreds on every single broadcast and they've had on-court fights before, including the viral image where Draymond had Gobert in a choke hold.
Jimmy Butler has not played a game in Target Center since November of 2021 (1259 days ago). I fully expect him to hear from Wolves fans every time he touches the ball for the entire series.
Curry is Curry. The greatest shooter in NBA history.
Golden State is deeper than the Lakers were (so are the puddles that form in the stands at Target Field after a light rain). They aren't as deep as the Timberwolves. The Wolves length, activity, and speed on defense should cause a lot of issues for the Warriors on the perimeter. The keys, in my mind, will be Rudy keeping his cool when Draymond inevitably resorts to cheapshot BS like he always does (and the referees calling him for said cheapshot BS), and what I expect will be the Julius Randle vs Jimmy Butler matchup. If Rudy keeps his composure and Randle holds his own in that matchup I like the Wolves chances to make this a short series.
In a way, both of these teams will compose a similar matchup to the ones they both just found themselves in round 1.
The Wolves are bigger and more physical basically across the board than GS is, just like Houston was. What ultimately doomed Houston was their inability to score in a halfcourt set. Houston was one of the lowest 3pt attempts in the NBA this year so when they were in the halfcourt set and couldn't work it inside their offense stagnated because they didn't have one particular "superstar" to just take over and force Golden State into doubles and rotations and open up free looks. The Wolves have Anthony Edwards (and to a lesser extent, Julius Randle). Houston got back into their series by leaning more heavily on the pairing of Sengun and Adams in the paint to dominate the glass and forced Golden State to add another big man into their rotation which slowed down their offense considerably. The Wolves already routinely put Rudy out there with Randle and Naz, or Naz and Randle together. Sengun is more gifted offensively than Gobert but Randle and Naz are much better offensively than any of the other Houston bigs, though Adams is a monster defensively and on the glass. If the Wolves bigs can dominate in the paint like Sengun and Adams did it could force Kerr to counter with Looney on the floor with Draymond which would hurt the pace and style GS wants to play with.
On the other hand, Golden State plays a small-ball style offense that the Lakers tried to play, featuring Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green at center with Podziemski and Hield. The Warriors, however, generally play it significantly better than the Lakers could ever dream of doing. They also have a couple serviceable depth guys that can play in the post if the Wolves bully them too much in the paint like they did to the Lakers, an option the Lakers did not have. Moses Moody and Gary Payton III are very good wing defenders, Buddy Hield and Brandon Podziemski are very good offensive wing players (Hield in particular, a 40% career 3pt shooter).
My gut says Wolves win the series, but I don't expect it to be easy. One big positive the Wolves have is Golden State just played the preeminent "bully" team in the Western Conference for 7 games that were largely quite physical, then turn around and play against a team every bit as capable of being a bully with only 1 day to rest.
The Wolves have to be prepared for the inevitable Draymond Green shenanigans. He's going to try to get under the skin of everyone on the Wolves roster and be an agitator. If the Wolves can stay cool and keep their composure (especially Ant) they are a better, deeper team. If Draymond's shtick gets in their heads though? It could be a tough series for the Wolves.
Denver comes from way back to take down OKC we got a series.
OKC up by 3 with 11 seconds left opts to foul Denver to put them on the line. Denver makes both to cut the lead to 1. OKC calls their final timeout and advances the ball, Denver fouls OKC with a little over 10 seconds left. OKC's Chet Holmgren clanks both FTs. Denver gets the rebound and pushes up the court for the GW 3pt shot.
I hate fouling up 3 with that much time left. With 3-5 seconds? Sure. It's harder to get the ball all the way down the court and get anything up but a wild halfcourt shot. With 10? Too many weird things can happen when you play the foul game like that and OKC got burned.
I hate missed free throws. I’m not expecting 100%, but free throws are one of basic fundamentals of basketball. And it’s a fundamental that you can practice whenever or wherever w/o someone.
Keep your stick on the ice...

Yep. The crazy thing is OKC was the #1 FT percentage team in the league this season (82% as a team) and Chet Holmgren is a career 78% FT shooter. They probably felt very comfortable with their ability to win the game if it turned into a FT shooting contest.

Heat of the battle. 😉
lol…
There is a something to about shooting a free throw in your backyard or practice compared to a game.

Ant tossin’ up some bricks early
Wolves 0-8 from 3 but somehow outshooting GS by about 7% and up by 2
Unbelievably bad half for the Wolves
This might be the worst Wolves game I’ve ever watched and that’s saying something. How do you go 0-16 on 3s?
Why stay with that strategy? Hit the 2s. ANALytics is dumb.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
They didn’t even need curry last night either so there’s that too. I can see the wolves getting their game back and being ok but losing game one at home, and how doesn’t feel the greatest. They just looked out of sync and not themselves at all.
Mike Conley played 22 minutes. Took 7 shots and missed them all and committed 2 fouls.
NAW played 14 minutes. Took 5 shots and missed them all and committed 2 fouls.

0/5 and 0/3. The fga include 3pt attempts. The wolves outside of naz on offense didn’t show up. Then they opened up to try come back coupled with some weird shots going in (draymond made 4 3s early, butler banked in a 3 from up top, kuminga made his 3).
wolves probably can’t play worse and this lineup for GS sans curry idk if they can play better
Wolves are -10.5 tonight. Even with Curry out, that's very generous after Tuesday's game.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Honestly seems about right with Curry out, Wolves missing every wide open shot, and home team advantage.

particularly when you figure this team got absolutely fried in the film room after game 1, which is what it sounds like per some players, and a game that you really need to win
Love the Draymond sucks chant, dude is a monumental jackass. Does he really think even a single person can’t see he obviously three an elbow into Naz’s head…?…he should have been ejected. What a prick.
Wolves came out firing but geez the fast break is a mess.
That got scary for a sec
Wolves came out firing but geez the fast break is a mess.
Finch wants them to run on missed FGs but that’s not gonna include Rudy and for some reason Ant seems to be reluctant to fastbreak.
Butler has seemed uninterested in expending energy this whole game, like he wrote it off from the beginning. “Where is Jimmy?”
KOC is in the second row next to the Wolves bench
Ant whining for a call every single time he drives to the hole. Dude show some class you’re up by 17.
