I can’t believe Nailor didn’t drop that
Darnold to Nailor from 31yds.
7-3 good guys
Tact is the ability to step on a man's toes without messing up the shine on his shoes - Harry S Truman
Garbage PI call, maybe defensive holding
Not sure why LaFleur didn’t kick a FG there but OK!
Thanks for the 3 points refs
Good half. Defense has been solid but can’t see love being that bad again in the 2nd half
Thanks for the 3 points refs
Make-up call for the BS low block penalty on Harrison Smith that led to GB's field goal in the first quarter.
Tact is the ability to step on a man's toes without messing up the shine on his shoes - Harry S Truman
Addison’s route on his TD was chefs kiss
Well that’s a mistake you really can’t make if you’re Darnold given the game flow
Ugh. Had them in the ropes and just gave them the opportunity to stay in it.
Forget it and drive down to get points now.
Darnold got a little too cocky thinking he could fit that in there to Hockenfuss
Statement drive.

Never mind I guess I won’t. Don’t give a damn if we got the W. 😆
Ballsy calls by KOC to ice it 😮
Darnold is now the Vikings single season TD leader!

It's gonna be close, because, hell, MN-GB in this type of game with what is at stake. However, I think homefield kicks in, ADV MN, and there's gonna be a lotta people on the edge of their seats.
Told ya. See you in February, I hope....
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
The thing I’m most impressed with in Darnold is his ability to deal with adversity. Made a couple clutch throws on last drive, great catch by Cam Akers on last 3rd down conversion.
Great decision by Akers to just sit on the ball after the catch. No need to gain more yards.

Daunte Culpepper has the Vikings record for TD passes in a season with 39 in 2004.
Darnold has 35 TD passes this season.
14 wins and 2 losses

Just going by what radio said. They had Favre with it so maybe they read it wrong and it was first year qbs.
Damn…I was WORRIED with 2:24 to go and Pack having all 3 TO & 2 minute warning. That 1st call by KOC & the unexpected left bootleg throw to the dude from Denfeld a huge play. JJ catches crossing route huge play & Akers catch a big play, it took 3 of them to hold on…nightmare scenario if Vikings were forced to punt & Pack only needed a FG for walk off win, that’s why I was especially perturbed by Riechard 43 yard FG miss, that’s Gary Anderson shit. We are haunted by misses like that and it gave Pack a glimmer of hope. We go up 30-10 and we win comfortably. Yeah, couple garbage time drives by Love, but they still count. The biggest difference (currently) between Vikings & Packers is at WR.😁
Jalen Nailor was HUGE today. Darnold threw the ball to him 5 times, 5 catches, 81 yards, 1 TD that put us ahead early in the second quarter and we lead the rest of the way.
Darnold had 377 yards passing, 3 TDs, 1 INT. He nearly had 416 yards passing, 4 TDs, 1 INT
In the 1st quarter Addison had a 39 yard TD catch in his hands but didn't come down with it (it would have been a good catch). Next two plays incomplete pass and missed 57 yard FG.
Nailor and Hawk had a good day today.

@bearpaw28 There is a huge difference in QB play as well. There are throws Sam makes week in and week out that Love doesn’t even have in his arsenal.
The Vikes had Love so bottled up almost all day. He looked as average and mediocre a QB can look.
Another week and another gem by Darnold.
They are now in position for their best season since 1998 and first time being a #1 seed since then.
It feels like Squid Game where after every Vikings win, the Sam Darnold Cash Bubble fills up a little more. 😉

I mean...no matter how this plays out I am not sure the Vikings can not make an offer. This is not fluky stuff he is playing as good as his numbers and he is integral in the wins and runs the offense.
I am completely converted on this.
I don't know how the length of franchise contracts work, but thinking 3 yrs/40 per? (I know the number for a franchise tag is set).

100%
They can’t afford to not bring him back.
It’s time to stop talking about the cute “plan” of playing JJ on his rookie deal. The plan that only came into existence because they needed a QB in the draft.
You don’t let a 27 year old MVP caliber QB play just up and walk. Give me a break.
And for all the talk how it’s just the system and KOC, it’s a two way street. Sam is helping put people in positions to look very good right now. And some big numbers for his receivers.
Franchise route is the way to go, but I don't know if you have to offer a contract that is x amount of years or the x amount is a variable.

Totally agree. The funny/ironic thing is I think Darnold is actually making the decision on the GM and Coaching staff pretty easy now.
5 weeks ago I had ZERO clue what the correct answer was.

If you franchise a player, there is no offer. The franchise tag is a one-year, guaranteed contract for the average of the top five salaries at that player's position.

I knew the salary thing, didn't know minimum length of contract, if there was one.

Agreed. This is a no brainer. The "plan" can wait JJ is 22 and coming off major surgery. If he can't handle waiting a couple years trade him and get picks for next year.
Darnold fits KOC's offense perfectly. And, despite it being the easy way to make yourself look good, he isn't leaning on JJ to do it. Today was a master class in "pick your poison" and you can tell the team trusts him.
If Darnold was 34, take a franchise year and hope to make one more run.
...But he's 27--he could potentially run this team for 3-5 more years. You have to operate under the assumption that his previous teams were just so poorly run that they never got out of him what made him a top pick.
He just never looks phased (save for a few moments early in the year), which is something that Cousins never seemed to show.

3 year contract, let JJ do the Favre/ARodg/Love thing, then dump Sam off for a needy team (yes, this is the perfect scenario, but if you are a Vikes fan, one has to hope for something like this).

I’ll be honest, Darnold’s age definitely has a Mandela Effect to me.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Sam will have an interesting decision during the offseason. It would seem likely the Vikings will try to resign him if possible but most likely no where near what he could command. I presume some team(s) will throw the bank at him and IMHO Sam can and should be very choosy. In Vikingland he has a coach who (so far) has a magic touch with QBs, a boatload of receivers who make plays - they go up and get the ball and come down with it - and a decent line in front of him. He will need to weigh the chance to cash in big time against the situation he will be putting himself into; 2024 Curt Cousins is an excellent case study for him to reflect on when the time comes. Sam has been with the Jets so he knows what it's like to be in an NFL cesspool.

This one is a head scratcher for me. Would you rather make 12m a year and win a championship or make 20m a year and not even sniff the playoffs.
