Well officiated first half. Call the obvious penalties, let the borderline stuff go. Why is this so hard for some crews to do?
Agree to a point. The stripes are pretty consistent in the NFL with the obvious calls. Though play pick and choose with the borderline calls.
By consistent you mean they miss obvious calls all the time?
Seems like a pretty packed house still too. I was wondering how many people would be unable to make the trek with the weather and road conditions.
Weather and road conditions…?…you mean, winter in Minnesota?
I saw 2-3 posts on Twitter yesterday from people living outside the metro that couldn't get to the game because the roads were closed.
Great catch by TJ for his second TD of the game to retake the lead.

There were roads in out state Minnesota that were closed until mid morning and I believe there are still some roads closed as of now including 212 between Bird Island and Glencoe.
I'm 50% factual and 50% sarcastic. When you get to know me, you will know which is which.

Why? Just cause it’s windy? If a road is closed take a different route. People act like the interstates are the only way to get around.
What in the shit was that playcall
What was up with that NYG kicker “celebration” after making the field goal?
That’s huge punt blocking mistake by the Giants, how do you let a rusher come straight up the middle unblocked?
Osborn is really good at using his blocks on WR screens
I think if I faced the prospect of having to attend an NFL game ever again, I'd look for any excuse possible not to. Like going to church. If it requires more than turning on the television, it's no longer worth it. Like going to church.

They are closed because off the 6 foot high snow drifts that occur next to trees and acreages. But hey, I guess they could take some non plowed gravel roads in their pickups while wearing Vikings jerseys. 212 isn't an interstate BTW.

I have driven for work across WI and MN for 10 years. Average about 300 miles a week plus periodic long trips. I’ve dealt with roads issues for traffic, accidents, snow, ice and even flooding. I always get done what needs to get done. There’s always a way around.
Pathetic defense once again, let them come down and tie it in 59 seconds.
Vikings defense lets the Giants move right down the field to tie it in front of the 2 minute warning.
GREG JOSEPH! 61 YARDS! RIGHT. DOWN. THE. MIDDLE!
JJ with 12 catches for 133 in what seemed like just an average game for him. Crazy.
Needs 244 in the last 2 games to reach 2K
Haha this damn team.
They like to make us sweat, don’t they. Another last minute win!
I did not think Joseph had the leg for a 60 yarder. This season is something else.
The Viking’s season

Me either. And he made it with plenty of room to spare too.

Well he only misses kicks in the 50s...61 is a cake walk ? ?
Hey we doubled our point differential!
Look I have no clue what is happening or why everything is working but man it is and ib love it. Everything I criticize works out and I'm dumbfounded by it! I don't care how bad they flame out this is the most fun I have had watching NFL football (which I can barely stand) in well over a decade!
Funny how certain Vikings fans were calling for Joseph's head, now will be cheering his name is over Christmas Eve dinner!!!

What's funny about a guy getting criticized when he fails and praised when he succeeds?
You Like That!!!!! ?
Captain clutch throws 3 TDs (2 in the 4th quarter) for another 4th quarter coming from behind victory and includes a game winning drive in the last minute of the game.
The Vikings are now 11-0 in one possession games (8 points or less).
Joseph comes up big hitting from 61!!!!

I'm probably one of the hardest posters on this site on the stripes. And yes, they miss obvious calls all the time. Though what's worse is how they play pick and choose. It all depends on the helmet, nameplate and coach on the sideline.

I find it more funny with kickers. When 99% of the people complaining about the kicker, couldn't kick a 10 yrd. fg on a tee with no pressure.

What.a FUN season (so far!) 61 yard walk off! SKOL

I would prefer we found a different kicker next year. Joseph is now 3-8 from beyond 50 yards which is just OK at best. He’s also missed 5 extra points which is second worst in the league. I believe he has not missed a FG in the last 7 games so he has definitely been much more consistent the second half of the year.
The Vikings are 10-0 in one possession games (8 points or less). I wonder if this has ever happened in the NFL?
The record is 14 one-possession games in a season (Giants in 1994 & Ravens in 2015), though it's both wins and losses. The Vikings had 13 one-possession games last year.
NY Giants (1994) 9-7, all 9 wins by 8 or less.
Baltimore (2015) 5-11, all 5 wins by 8 or less.
Vikings (2021) 8-9, 7 of the 8 wins by 8 or less.
Vikings set the record for 11 wins one possession games... LoL!!!

They have one job and get paid a lot for it. Kickers with a big leg can be a big weapon, look at Justin Tucker. They should be making everything inside 40 yards unless the blocking breaks down or bad weather. Beyond 40 you better be pretty consistent and make some big kicks when called upon.
BTW 30 yards FGs are pretty easy, beyond that I would agree.

In the post game they said the Vikings lost 8 one score games last year. Not a ton of differences on the team between last year and this year other than the coaching staff, so…

I’ll take that bet any day, all day if you think fans can kick a 30 or less fb… lol!!!

If you had asked me to name 10 kickers in Vikings history Edinger would not have come to mind.
I guess it depends on what you drive and how good at it you are. Last night I thought the roads were fine but saw a guy in a pickup who slid way way way into the median on 94. Pickup drivers think their tough guy vehicles are better in the snow than they are and that they are better drivers than they are. This guy went through a snow bank and through at least 30 feet of 18 inch deep snow before stopping. How did you manage that fella?
I would say 25-30% people who drive a pickup, especially in the metro have no reason to drive a pickup. They drive it for image and status and really have no clue how to drive a pickup. Their bed with or without a liner is as clean as the day they bought it.
Keep your stick on the ice...
Many of you know the vehicle I drive. While the roads have sucked this week, I drove around fine and dandy.
As for the Vikes: you cannot make this up. This is unreal.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

Setting a fee at the 20 yard line and kicking it wouldn’t be that hard, especially with no lineman to kick it over. I will say that NFL footballs are a little bigger and heavier than you expect.
Kicking a FG is friggin' tough. I can punt ok, but FG? Fuhgeddaboudit.

The Giants were ahead 13-10 going to the 4th quarter.
Vikings open +3.5 at Green Bay next week.
I have NO clue what to expect next week, honestly. Huge rival, a LOT on the line for the Vikes, and GB trying to ruin MN's season, instead of vice versa as in recent years.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.
There is a lot more on the line for GB than the Vikes. Vikings are just determining 2 vs 3 seed while Packers are out of playoffs with a loss.

Vikings can still get the #1 seed, with PHI losing to DAL. Not likely, but possible.

But if the Vikings lose it doesn’t “ruin” their season. It’s must win for GB, pressure is on them.
If you're the Vikings, do you really wanna go through SF and PHI? Vikes were in the playoffs (realistically) a few weeks ago. GB is hoping for a miracle, and I don't think they even believe it, deep down. Half the Vikes' fans don't even believe they are for real (not a scientific result, guesstimation). LOTS of pressure on the Vikes to convert those fans.

Every time they show the NFC playoff picture and see the Vikings at 12-3, I just think…how?
