Doesn't matter who they play, this defense is terrible. Vikings need to score 4 or 5 TDs every game. I wonder what there record would be without JJ.
JJ has a 60+ yard TD called back to the 33 because the ref said he stepped out of bounds despite definitely not stepping out of bounds.
2:49 left with three clock stops (2 TOs, 2 minute warning), and KOC opts for the onside kick down by 8. Detroit recovers obviously because onside kicks are 100% useless these days and now they need about 5 yards to ice the game with a FG.
And the Lions RT daggers the Vikings on a pass reception.
I'm sure some math major can tell me why the team went for 2 there down by 8 with 17 minutes of the game left but that is an absolutely ridiculously bad decision by KOC there.
I know very little about football rules and strategy and even I know that was dumb. I hope we lose by a point.
It likely won't matter, but why wasn't Sewell flagged for swinging at a viking defender?
Is the defense an issue yet?
I missed why Jefferson’s TD didn’t count. If he went out of bounds it didn’t look like they marked the ball there. Good for Detroit, Vikings D needs to be fixed and they need more than just Harrison Smith who has been keeping the whole thing from collapsing.

Ref blew the whistle saying he stepped out. But he didn't.
For an alleged offensive mastermind head coach, this team's first drive coming out of halftime has been absolutely pathetic far too often.
We all knew that MN wouldn't win out, and IMO, THIS was the game MN was going to lose*. They'll beat the NYG next week, I think the Giants are frauds.
*They could lose to the Bears and/or GB at the end of the season, but that would prob be due to resting starters/etc, that sort of thing.
When you tell somebody somethin', it depends on what part of the United States you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.

Over the last year or two quite a few teams (not all) have started going for two when scoring a TD late in the 3rd quarter or 4th quarter that cuts a 14 point deficit to 8 points. It is a play designed to try to win in regulation rather than have the game go to OT.

There is a chart out there that shows how it makes sense. A team has something like a 54% chance of making the two point conversion. Statistically if you do not get it the first time, you should be able to get it the second time. If you do get it the first time, the next TD you would only need to kick the XP to win the game.
KOC used it very early in the game. Usually it's used when a team has 1 or 2 more drives left in the game. This was near the end of the 3rd quarter. There were at least 3 or 4 chances to get the ball back. That's where I think he over-thought the game a little bit too much today. The onside kick should have been kicked deep. He also should have used his timeouts before the two minute warning to prevent Detroit from throwing the ball on third down. If Detroit has 3rd and 7 with 2:20 left in the game, they are far less likely to throw the ball as they would want to waste those 20 seconds before the two minute warning. Plus that TV timeout gave Detroit time to think of their trick play instead of doing it on the fly.

The decision is likely easier when your kicker is known for missing extra points.
This is a fun article. I will have to try and find these episodes.

I don’t think they’ll have the option of sitting starters unless SEA helps us out tonight. I’d say a realistic finish to this season will be slipping to the 3 seed, maybe winning a home game against NYG/WAS/SEA and then having so go to SF for a beatdown. This defense against the SF offense will be ugly.
This start is....sub-optimal.

Saturday football is telling prime time football to hold its beer with this Vikings performance thus far.
Both of those “turnovers” are inexcusable, can’t happen. Cooks fumble wasn’t even a punch out, I don’t think he even touched the ball. I’m not seeing Cook on this team next year…12.6 mil for a RB? No.
Defense getting owned by the 8th worst offense in the league, offense can’t gain 1 yard. Sad.
The eighth worst offense before they lost their awesome RB*.
How do you fall down a yard short of a key first down?
This is some epic pant shitting
Second consecutive week that KOC is losing this game for the team. Blocked punts happen. Fumbles happen.
You're running a jet sweep with your fullback on 3rd and 2 (I actually feel like he got the first down on that play but KOC didn't challenge it) and running right behind your backup center on 4th and 1 right into Deforest Buckner? Then you try a fake punt pass on 4th and 1 the next drive? You have a 30 million dollar a year QB and the best receiver in the NFL. If you're going for it on 4th down and 1 use them. Don't throw a fake pass with your punter.
Just giving the Colts 6 free points.

We better hope the Jets beat the Lions Sunday lol ? Vikings are starting to implode before our eyes at HOME, yikes! 0-23 2nd Qtr Looks like I’ll be attending the Andover vs Wayzata HS game @ 2pm…rather than continue watching this steaming pile of excrement ☝️
A successfully executed punt!
Watch out now, we're making progress!

Enough with this forward progress nonsense. If the player is still fighting for yards he’s not down. Why is that so hard for the NFL to understand? If the player doesn’t want to get hit then go down, otherwise you’re opening yourself up to getting the ball pulled out or getting drilled.
Down 23 points, the officials will now make sure it’s insurmountable.
Chandon Sullivan and Brian Asamoah strip Michael Pittman and Sullivan recovers and returns it for a touchdown...
But the referees blew the play dead prematurely for forward progress. He had literally just turned up the field and gained at least a yard with that move. Asamoah comes in and pops him, Sullivan rips the ball out and picks it up and scores.
Ridiculous that they blew this dead.

Now Jefferson is hurt and Cousins throws a pick 6. I’m not sure how this first half could get worse unless the stadium started on fire.
Now Kirk throws a pick 6 because Reagor gets to the first down marker on a hitch route and turns around starts working back inside for no reason.

Worst half of Vikings football since…..?
Great effort by Osbourne but that’s not a catch
Worst half of Vikings football since…..?
Is this the worst 10-3 team in league history? Losing 30-0 at home to basically a 4-9 team?

Terrible half for Cousins. He has Jefferson open for a first down but throws short to Osbourne who drops it.
Can we say they’re not very good yet?
Colts up 30-0 and still busting off 10 yard run plays

Yes...and people thought the Dallas game was the low water mark.
The very last brainwashed fan must now concede.
They could literally lose out and stay at 10 wins.
Cook needs to go. On the sidelines getting beat 33 rip, he looks like a pot smoker in between tokes...not a care in the world. On the field, he can't take care of the ball and drops easy passes for touchdowns (buffalo). His value equation is getting upside down.
The shine is definitely off the rookie coach, and captain Kirk has reverted back to his mistake-prone self.
Too many holes to plug. The ship has sunk.
